  1. I bought more ethereum when it dipped to 1860. I am still up from when I bought so I am good. I also bought some Cardano but timed it wrong and bought at 1.68. Missed the bottom by about 45 minutes late stupid emergency meeting at work cost me about $2500. Oh well I'll just hold this one for longer than I wanted to originally.
  2. Even if your wages go up during a moderate inflation period you are still at where you were previously before the inflation so your buying power hasn't really increased it just stayed the same and in some cases you are actually making less. When you have a raise in CPI like what we have seen you see the buying power go down even when wages have gone up. CPI spikes can be attributed to many things like an increase in labor costs. If Bob at Joes farm starts making $15 an hour when they were making $10 an hour there is going to be an increase in the price of goods from Joes farm. Bob is now making more an hour but his buying power may have actually decreased even though he is making more an hour. The inflation on the price of goods cancelled out the increase in his wages as he is no longer able to buy what he bought when he was making $10 an hour. We are seeing an increase in your common consumer goods (fuel, food, clothing, etc.) when you see increases like this the ones that are hit the hardest are the ones at the lower income brackets and they tend to lag far behind the increases in inflation. Even the middle class tend to fall behind the increase in inflation. The US Dollar has become weaker over the years and this is evident in the price for Bitcoin and Gold. It is not that the price of Gold or Bitcoin has been increasing it is that the value of the US Dollar has been decreasing along with the other fiat currencies. Yes some inflation is good but when you start seeing large increases in the CPI that is not moderate inflation.
  3. Bad news for the economy today with the CPI numbers. It is probably a good idea to start moving some money if you haven't already to Bitcoin or Ethereum to hedge any inflation losses that are going to be coming. If you don't like the digital currencies there is always gold or silver.
  4. I hate R! I prefer Alteryx or Tableau over R. I will even take SAS over R.
  5. Another idea is to get an ARDUINO or a raspberry pi if you haven't gotten one already. There are a lot of cool things you can do with both of them and even some of the basic younger kids stuff are rather fun to do. Google does have a summer camp for coding that is geared more towards high school aged people. https://buildyourfuture.withgoogle.com/programs/computer-science-summer-institute/
  6. While a degree in computer science would be good he should also do hackathons and other events depending on what he is interested in. A coding boot camp would also be beneficial if he hasn't had much in terms of coding experience.
  7. Toews hasn't looked healthy for the last 3-years something is definitely wrong with him. I hope it isn't something serious but he has been very lethargic and slow the past few years. Maybe it was just age that caught up to him but he has looked like a 35-year old defenseman with one good leg. The Blackhawks need to reset and get under the cap if they are every going to win again.
  8. You keep on repeating these lies? Why?
  9. COINBASE went public today. Currently trading around $330 a share. I am going to wait and see if it goes down to around $200. I think it is over valued where it is at now.
  10. If you like risk then SPAK maybe something to look into. It is basically an ETF of new technology companies. It is down right now but I think it will increase and should stabilize around $35-40.
  11. My uncle has DIRECT TV and his remotes stopped working. All of them all at the same time. The only thing that works on them is the guide button the up and down arrows and the channel buttons. Everything else doesn't work on them. I tried reprogramming them for him no luck. Even the one he bought as a spare that is still in the bag it came in doesn't work and has the same issues. I am not saying this is a conspiracy but the evidence is pointing to it. Anyways he called direct tv and they told him he would have to buy new ones or a technician could come out and replace his boxes and remotes. He did the tech thing had a date and time frame for them to come they never came. He calls them back and they tell him he is lying and there is no record of him calling in or scheduling a technician to come out. Though he did get confirmation and when he gave them the confirmation information they hang up on him. He still insists that direct TV is still a good service. Sometimes I think people just enjoy the pain.

    Pizza

I love Chicago deep dish. That is dinner and lunch for 3 days.
  13. I don't really watch anything on YouTube TV that I would want to watch in surround sound so to me that is not really a factor. When I am watching YouTube TV I am watching from my PC or from a tablet and I have my headphones in and it sounds decent enough. If I want to watch a movie it is usually on Amazon or from RedBox. I never really liked surround sound when watching sports just doesn't sound all that great to me.
  14. Another streaming service at $50 a month doesn't have the regional sports networks. https://www.t-mobile.com/tvision I didn't see this one posted here. Could always do the free MLB TV if you have Tmobile as your cell provider.
  15. Have you thought about just buying an RV? Cheaper than a home and you have more mobility. Stay in WI during the summer and then AZ or FL in the winter. This is basically what I am thinking if I ever retire. Get an RV and just live everywhere in the US.
  16. Phoenix is horrible right now with all of the California, New York and other state refuges. The city of Phoenix alone added 80,000 people last year and the housing market is suffering because of this for buyers. If you are seller here it is awesome as prices are up about 200% in nearly every neighborhood. For example a neighbor where I live had their house on the market for 0 days and get 10 offers and the final offer they accepted was for $200k more than what the market value was for houses in this neighborhood go for. So if you are seller in the Phoenix market it is good but if you are a buyer you better be prepared to pay a premium for a house. The 80,000 people added in 2020 which includes people who moved out of the city, this is the highest or one of the highest population increases across the US.
  17. Shazam was surprisingly really good. Hollywood is devoid of new ideas and is just mostly cookie cutter movies or remakes. I would love to see a Metal Gear Solid movie but the creator of the game has said no on this. Would be an interesting sci-fi action movie kind of a Rambo meets Bond with robots and over the top villains.
  18. Yes, there are a lot of commercial parts that can be used by using block chain. I believe there is a lot of banking products being developed using the block chain which should make financials more secure.
  19. Season one and two were done by Syfy season 3-5 is done by Amazon. Season 3 and 5 are my favorite seasons I didn't like season 4 as much as the others and season 2 can drag a bit here and there.
  20. LOL, it would be funny to have the count explain blockchains and the cookie monster to explain internet cookies.
  21. I am very interested in blockchain as it apparently has commercial use even if digital currencies don't catch on as actual currencies. I just can't wrap my head around how to explain what it is or does or how it might be useful just yet. Check these two links out this should explain blockchain about as simply as you can. https://www2.deloitte.com/ch/en/pages/strategy-operations/articles/blockchain-explained.html
  22. Uggg I really hate Cramer as he is one of the biggest market manipulators.
  23. Not only did the hedge fund short the stock but they also shorted it for more than there are available shares on the market. I think it was something like 150% of the total shares that can be bought and sold on the market.
  24. They have a former chairperson from the SEC on their side so pretty corrupt.
