The Cubs looked absolutely lifeless after the first inning. Like they looked completely defeated after the first inning.
Hopefully the Brewers can continue to put the pressure on the Cubs like they have and wrap this up on Wednesday.
I know Cubs fans who are season ticket holders for the Brewers. I also know a Bears fan who is a season ticket holder for the Packers and a few Vikings fans who are also season ticket holders for the Packers. Back in the 90's and the Jordan era there were a bunch of suburb Bulls fans who were season ticket holders for the Bucks.
Also the Brewers set aside X% of tickets for the general public and for the major ticketing companies. Also not every single season seat holder is going to buy playoff tickets and those will go to the general public. When I had season tickets for the Brewers you had to buy them in lots which was about the same price as a full season worth of games. Not everyone is going to be able to do this and they will forgo those tickets and they will then become available to the public.
In reality it is probably maybe 1000 tickets that are sold from season seat holders on the resale site and even if you do a completely insane figure that it would be 70% Cubs fans buying these tickets that is still not as many that will be buying the general public tickets.
But this whining from someone who has said if you wear another teams hat you are not a true fan. Also complaining about how people wear their hats.
I don’t think it is market size driven just that the Yankees are well the Yankees. Sorry not sorry Red Sox fans. Yankees - Blue Jays is a better draw nationally than Red Sox - Blue Jays. Surprised the Mariners are not the late option which would make more sense.
I am just hoping this will help the MLB umpires call things correctly. If not then I think it will be a completely automated system.
If the umpire union complains about this they have no one to blame but themselves. There has to be accountability for poor performance by an umpire. The umpire union wasn’t going to fix this and if it continues it will be one less thing they will be doing.
That has been his scouting report his whole career. He will swing at pitches up and out of the strike zone and will swing at pitches low and in like nearly every left handed batter. I believe PCA had a lot of success earlier in the season hitting the up and out of the zone pitches along with pitches that were up and in the strike zone. There is not much of a difference between 1st half PCA and 2nd half PCA. Just that in the 1st half of the season he was hitting the up and out of the strike zone pitches.
Torkelson is a horrible 1B defensively. That was a bad throw by Baez but that was a catchable ball for an average 1B and Torkelson completely whiffed on catching that ball.
There are a lot of names ending with ski in MLB now. Which is usually the easiest part of saying a Polish, Lithuanian, Ukrainian or Belarusian name.
I was lucky to be born with an easy to say last name that is Polish.
Packers DB’s are the weakness on their defense. Way too much zone played by the Packers defense. The DB’s didn’t even check or put hands on the Cowboys receivers. It was like they were playing scared of the Cowboys receivers beating them deep. I don’t see the Packers defense be any better than it was last year even with Parsons on the team.
LOL Cardinals intentionally walked Busch who only needed a single for a cycle. Stay classy St. Louis or is this one of those hidden rules that only the Cardinals know about and enforce?
Judge has a 9.6 fWAR while Raleigh has a 9.1 fWAR. Judge has a commanding lead in wRC+ at 202 and the next closest is Raleigh at 164.
For MVP I wouldn’t be bothered by either winning it but I would give it to Raleigh. Being an everyday catcher is just insane with the numbers Raleigh is putting up. If he had a better batting average it would be a no doubter.
On the NL side of things it should be unanimously won by Ohtani no one else is even close to him in the NL.
No it is 3 games. If the Brewers win 3 games regardless what the Phillies do they are the #1 seed. The best the Phillies can get to is 98 wins. The Brewers are at 95 wins right now. So 3 wins would tie the Phillies and the Brewers have the tiebreaker.

Those assistants left a long time ago. Bielema left because UW was unwilling to pay the assistants more. A lot of the guys that were developing players who were 2-3 star recruits and walks on left as the money from other programs was more than what UW was willing to pay and they didn't leave for the Ohio States, Alabama's or the Texas's of college football. They left for smaller schools than UW.
This is an insane take and an absolutely clueless one.
Not sure how you guys misinterpret things so much on this forum. Where did I say it takes 5 years to recruit? Please reread what I said. I said it takes awhile to build the connections and recruit that doesn't mean one kid. It means getting into the high schools and other programs. It takes time to get into there and no you can't just use the connections that were used well not used by PC. Plus after this season the majority of the recruits will be Fickell's recruits and not PC's recruits. The majority of your team that will see if you can get success are going to be your Sophomore and Junior type of players with a few seniors sprinkled in. True Freshman are hardly ever starting and if they are it is because they are really good. Even the good ones don't start their first year.
Next season will be the determining factor if Fickell recruited correctly. It is when every player will be his and not some castoff from PC.
PC was going to be going down the same road as Fickell is in right now. Please tell me what recruits that PC had that was going to improve that 7-6 team. You won't find any as PC completely gave up on the recruiting end. We would be far worse off right now if PC continued to be the coach. That .713 winning percentage in the regular season would be falling so fast he probably would have quit after the 2023 season. If his record is this great why isn't he a HC at a major conference team right now? The answer is clear he is a cancer to a program and that is why no one will touch him because he won't recruit. Why get a HC who won't even do the basics for recruiting? He may have a good regular season winning percentage against cupcake teams but he is an absolutely awful HC when it comes to ranked opponents and doing the easiest and smallest things for recruiting.
