  1. The only right answer. You have a hall of fame center and a hall of fame SG/SF. How this team didn't win one is just crazy.
  2. From a few economists that I have read from they are predicting a 4.3 CPI for tomorrow. Which if true probably means more rate hikes.
  3. Please don't give them any ideas about letting over the hill Metallica play at the Super Bowl...... Did we not learn anything about the lifeless Dr. Dre last year?
  4. I wouldn't call Bleday a top prospect. 2021 AA: .212/.323/.373 2022 AAA: .228/.365/.470 2022 MLB: .167/.277/.309
  5. That was only if the international draft was put in place. Since MLB and the MLBPA didn't agree to an international draft the old rules for compensation are still in place.
  6. The half time show like the most recent seem to be blah at best. Question at what point is a song just a computer generated song when using auto tune?
  7. You are looking at it incorrectly. It is not the net gain/loss but the probability of the outcomes.
  8. You can mitigate risk with your 401k also. The closer you get to retirement start switching over to safer investments. So at 55-60 start allocating more towards bonds and cash. Once at your retirement and withdrawal age go completely cash and bonds and then cash out. Also removing your 401k wouldn't be a good idea if your employer is matching. I am not sure with government jobs if that is an option. But you would be losing money if there is a match. I wouldn't draw from social security until you are at the age of retirement for social security. You lose a lot per month if you draw early.
  9. One trade is not a trend. That is the reality of MLB free agency. I don't believe a large market team would offer Winker a QO unless they were comfortable with him returning on the QO. I don't see a team willing to give up a draft pick to sign Winker his situation would be similar to Joc Pederson and Conforto. There are others to compare him to but those are the most recent.
  10. I am not sure that would be lucky but that is semantics. I don't see the Brewers trading him unless they are out of it. Winker is going to be the primary DH and unless Mitchell, Frelick, Taylor and Wiemer are all hitting extremely well there is no way the Brewers are moving Winker if they are ahead or are close in the standings. I don't see the Brewers extending a qualifying offer to Winker that is a really big gamble for the Brewers to take on. The next off season for Winker if he is offered a QO will look a lot like Joc Pederson or Conforto a few years ago. Unless Winker puts up a 1.000 OPS season I just don't see teams willing to give up a pick for Winker.
  11. Yes that trade is somewhat like the Gomez and Fiers trade to the Astros though with it being more top heavy with Painter and McGarry. It would setup the Brewers for the next 5-years pitching wise. The Brewers could also extend Woodruff then and pair him with Painter, Peralta, Ashby, Gasser and Small. Not to mention McGarry who could become an ace in the bullpen or if he ever gets his walks down he could be an ace in the rotation.
  12. It said bold prediction not mild or realistic.
  13. Spring Training MVP: Jesse Winker Surprise OD roster inclusion(s): Brice Turang Surprise OD roster omission(s): None Breakout(s): Abner Uribe, Cam Robinson Disappointment(s): Devin Williams, Brian Anderson Bounceback(s): Jesse Winker, Victor Caratini, Matt Bush Season MVP: Luis Urias Cy Young: Corbin Burnes Reliever of the Year: Abner Uribe (Devin Williams completely fails at the closer spot and Uribe takes it over in June racking up 35 saves and a 11.0 K/9) Rookie of the Year: Abner Uribe Bold Prediction: Burnes is traded in June to the Phillies for RHP Griff McGarry, RHP Andrew Painter and 1B/OF Jordan Viars. The Brewers start out the season on a cold streak which puts them 20 games behind the Cubs in the Central on June 1st. The Cubs go on to lose the division by 1 game to the Cardinals. Cardinals win the division going 81-81 and are swept out of the first round. Brewers Record: 70-92 Postseason? No
  14. Getting Portis back is key. Then picking up a C and a PG/SG from the buyout market. They don't even need to be big minutes bench players either just someone in case of an emergency who can fill in to give some minutes off the bench.
  15. Branch fits the Packers defensive scheme almost perfectly. QB probably not in the 1st round but third or fourth I think the Packers have to think about it. The only way I see the Packers taking a QB in the first is if they trade Rodgers and they get a top 10 pick for him. Jaxon I don’t believe will be a good NFL WR. It would be foolish to take Mayer in the 1st where the Packers are picking. Van Ness could be a sleeper at the Packers pick.
  16. I have given up on washing my car in Arizona. I would have to go every weekend to get it washed just to keep it clean. Now I just do it after each oil change. It is impossible to keep a car clean in Arizona.
  17. Beverly/Burk and Noel would be perfect.
  18. I am not sure if there is a top of the rotation arm in the first round to look at. Maybe if Waldrep or Skenes drop then you have a top of the rotation pitcher but otherwise I think the Brewers will have to go the risky route out of HS or believe that the Brewers could get someone like Teddy McGraw to be more consistent with his pitches. They would need to be able to get him to harness his stuff more and be more accurate with them. I mentioned him previously but someone like Will Sanders is probably a safer bet at least in the 1st round. Sanders profiles more like a #3 than a #1 or #2. Sanders does have a solid changeup which can make a fastball that only sits 92-94 look more like 95-98.
  19. This is probably the best film I have seen in years. Now if only someone would make a more recent Korean War film that is worth watching.
  20. Trading 2nd round picks in the NBA is the equivalent of trading 6th or 7th round picks in the NFL. I am not all that worried about losing 2nd round picks. Majority of the time the players taken in the 2nd round depending on where they are picked don't even see minor minutes. Best case scenario you get a rotational piece maybe in the 2nd round.
  21. John Wall is reportedly either will be traded or will be bought out. If he is bought out I think that might be where the Bucks go. He could be a good bench scoring option and fill the spot that Hill was occupying. That still gives Carter enough time as the backup PG and Wall being a rotational player. I don't think it will happen though as Wall is a horrible shooter. He would have to take minutes from Allen also. I still think Allen will be traded so Wall could take some of Allen's minutes if Allen is traded.
  22. Where in my post did I compare them to the Brewers? You were the one who said they don't have these situations when they do. Also Darvish is not a #1 or #2 type pitcher anymore he just isn't. He is a #3 type pitcher and on most of the playoff teams that is where he would be. The only team where Darvish would be the #1 would be the Cardinals. The Cardinals do not currently have a #1 type pitcher on their staff and Darvish would be a clear upgrade. The Mets have Verlander and Scherzer, Braves have Fried and Wright, Dodgers have Urias and Kershaw, Phillies have Nola and Wheeler. So yeah Darvish is a #3 or #4 on most of the playoff teams. ERA- is also a better stat to use than WAR for pitchers. Darvish was the 20th ranked player in 2022 with an ERA- of 80. The same as Nola so maybe he is the Phillies #2 so a coin flip there. The only team where Darvish is a clear better #1 are the Cardinals.
  23. Full deal for Crowder: Quick edit: Bucks receive: Jae Crowder Nets receive: Five second-round picks Pacers receive: Jordan Nwora Two second-round picks
  24. Not really surprising as the Bucks have been rumored to be getting Crowder for a few months now. The five second round picks though. Not really all that needed for the Bucks. At least the Bucks are keeping Allen though I am not sure how there could be another trade in the works that involves Allen, Hill and Ibaka.
