  1. The Cardinals are not relying on Flaherty who is coming off an injury or a 40 year old Wainwright who pitched poorly when not throwing to a now retired Molina? The Dodgers have a lot of starting rotation question marks along with can Lux replace Trea Turner's production? Will JD Martinez bounce back from a bad year in Boston? The Mets are relying on old pitchers being effective as their #1 and #2 pitchers. If either Scherzer or Verlander start showing their age that could be an ugly mess for the Mets. The Padres don't have a strong starting rotation. They have a good offense but their best pitcher would be a #3 or #4 on most of the playoff teams. Braves will be relying on Acuna who is coming back from injury and will also be relying on Arcia or gasp a rookie Grissom at SS to replace Swanson. Then at DH will Ozuna be able to give the Braves anything? Is Harris really the hitter he was or will he regress? Is Murphy an improvement at C over what they had in '22? The Phillies bullpen could be an absolute mess if Kimbrel is not effective. Will Castellanos bounce back from a poor season? How healthy is Harper?
  2. I didn't really think they were going to do it as the players they got back for Kyrie were good. Not superstar good but decent players to plug in with Durant. I like this trade more for the Nets than I do the Suns. It makes the Suns better in the West but that team is completely dysfunctional with or without Durant. The Suns are currently the #5 seed in the West and I am not sure if this really makes them the favorites in the West. I don't think they will catch Denver for the #1 seed but they are within striking distance for the #2 but so are a bunch of other teams in the West.
  3. I LOVE THOSE BURGERS!!!!!! I will not stop ordering them in fact I will now order more of them now! Maybe you should get bigger hands or a bigger mouth! Did you think about doing that instead?
  4. If those reports are true it probably means Love is gone or will be traded. Why keep someone like Love if you are going to go with Rodgers? Would make more sense to draft a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round than to keep Love and reset the cap hit for a backup QB.
  5. I think letting Boxberger, Suter and Gott go were fine. Suter wasn't a high leverage arm in the bullpen. He was a good bullpen piece but not someone you would want to count on late in the game. Boxberger seemed to look like he has regressed a lot last year. Gott was always interesting but he was never consistent in the bullpen and seemed to be always hurt or unavailable for awhile. The Brewers do need to add to the bullpen and there are plenty of useful options still available.
  6. More talk about expansion at the Athletic today. It seems like MLB is determined to get to 32 teams once the stadium situation for the Rays and A's is settled. The teams want to expand to 32 so it is not a question of will but when expansion occurs. https://theathletic.com/4159445/2023/02/07/mlb-expansion-geographic-realignment/
  7. It is somewhat long but it is an easy read even if you are not into statistics. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/you-cant-fake-exit-velocity/

  8. Yes there is a player cap which includes the complex leagues. So max of two with the current cap on how many players can be stateside. The DSL doesn't count towards a teams minor league roster number.
  9. I don't think Durant gets traded as the players the Nets got back are decent. This is probably a better team without Kyrie on it.
  10. The one team per level is only applicable to A-AAA. The teams can have as many as they want at the complexes and in the DSL.
  11. Irving to the Mavericks. I wonder if the Nets now have a Durant trade in the works?
  12. That is way too young and I thought MLB has a rule against this?
  13. I would put Tim Johnson over Yuni at SS or over Schoop at 2B depending on where you want to put him at.
  14. Incorrect. If they restructure or reorganize then that means the debt will also be restructured or reorganized. Depending on that outcome it could be less for the current fiscal year and the next fiscal year. If they are having trouble paying the debt now then they are going to have problems paying it in the future. So either the MLB teams take less or they get more than likely nothing. The secured creditors are going to sell the business and that means pennies on the dollars for them. Basically the teams are not going to get the full amount that they are owed this year and they may never get the full amount.
  15. I think the Badgers make the tourney as long as they don't go 3-5 or worse. If they go 5-3 I think they can still get an 8 seed depending on how well they play in the tourney. Ultimately I think they get in as a 10 or 12 seed.
  16. I would even put Suter below someone like Jesse Orosco, Graeme Lloyd and Carlos Villanueva.
  17. That is literally what happens in a bankruptcy.
  18. I am just trying to figure out who Doug Wickman is.....
  19. The offense for Marquette can be really bad at times. The game against Butler today is a good example they were up 12 and then all of a sudden nothing and Butler nearly comes back. If it wasn’t for Butler falling apart offensively also that could have been a loss. I am not sure how deep Marquette will go in the tourney if their offense goes completely dead cold like the game against Butler.
  20. I like Colt Emerson, Aidan Miller, Brock Wilken and Jake Gelof at 3B. One or multiple should be available where the Brewers are picking either in the 1st round or the Comp A pick. Depending on how these players perform they should be available though Gelof and Wilken could skyrocket up the list if their hit tools improve. Emerson fits who the Brewers have been drafting and signing internationally. Solid hit tool and solid defensively. He is listed as a SS but I don't think he will stick there. He did play 3B for Team USA and that maybe his position he has a solid arm and he looked like a 3B for Team USA defensively. He has a commit to Auburn but I think a team could easily pull him away from that. A SS/3B who may slip is Jacob Wilson. If he drops that would be the perfect scenario for the Brewers as he is another player that fits the Brewers profile of recent draftees and international signings. This might be the year the Brewers go pitcher in round 1. Will Sanders is someone to watch with the Brewers pick. I think if he is there during the 1st round that is who the Brewers take. Tanner Witt is another pitcher to watch for. College pitchers look to be solid this year with Dollander, Skenes, Waldrep, Lowder Sanders and Witt currently sitting at the top. Dollander and Skenes should go in the top 5 and the others somewhere between 10-20.
  21. Your training is more complex than the Air National Guard. At least what my friend in Hawaii who is a fire arms instructor for the Air National Guard explains it.
  22. The hat matches the shirt that is all that it is.
  23. It will be back. I think this happened with another sports channel and it was back a month or two later.
  24. There is plenty of room for players to grow from college to the NFL. Normally you see this in OL and DL where they will come in bad shape overweight or under weight. Usually in the second year after using the facilities and trainers from the NFL you will see a jump in some players. If the player shows good technique and they put in the work in the off season and workout you usually see a second year bump. The players look completely different from year 1 versus year 2. Well for the ones who actually put in the work and do the off season workouts. There is a term in the NFL that the scouts use that I am completely forgetting but there is a definite transition from year 1 to year 2 physically that the players go through. There are a lot of busts but I thought Josh Jackson would be a good defensive back. The problem with Jackson is that he would have been a better roving center fielder on defense but he never got bigger to play the safety position. I thought he could of been an Ed Reed type of a player at safety or a bigger version of Charles Tillman at safety instead of CB. Jackson had all of the instincts to be a ball hawk and get interceptions down the field he just never made the transition from CB to Safety. I believe the issue with MVS was that he was always injured or it seemed like he was always injured. When I had him on my fantasy league I thought he was going to turn into something special and he had a few games here and there where he looked he could be. Then all of a sudden he was injured or didn't play or wasn't in the game plan at all. MVS is surely playing well enough for the Chiefs right now. Sometimes you just miss on a guy or a change of scenery is what is needed. Also it helps when you can get away from a QB like Rodgers who will hold a grudge against you for dropping a pass or causing him to throw an interception even if it was his fault.
  25. Maybe Montfort doesn't want to hire a GM that will tell him that he needs to tear everything down and to stop spending like a drunken sailor?
