    I am fully expecting a bunch of expiring contracts and two picks from the Knicks as the compensation for Giannis. Then in the offseason a 2nd round pick and an expiring contract for Turner.

    I think this is the right answer and he preferred to play as DE instead of at TE. UW has a need at TE and not so much at edge where I am assuming he would play in Iowa. It hurts to lose Janda but I think this is a reasonable loss if it is a position that he wants to play.

    Manoah signs with the Angels for 1.95mm. Good deal for the Angels here. Not sure that is the right spot for him to rebuild his value but ok.

    Remember Giannis holds all the cards and will dictate where he will be traded. I believe he said his preferred destination would be to the Knicks or so the rumor stated. Still Giannis will be able to pick the team he wants to go to. At best you are looking at mid to late first round draft picks and then expiring contracts in a Giannis trade. I wouldn’t expect anything more than that. He will be traded to a contender and not to someone who will have an early first round draft picks. Something like this is what I would expect:

    MLB only allows teams to borrow from MLB and the rate is rather high and is only there for extreme emergencies. So you can remove borrowing on the equity. The team is not going to reduce profits that is just not going to happen. From what I have heard the Brewers are on razor thin margins and the profits that they have cut into are all going into player development. The Brewers firmly believe in player development as their way that they can win. Don't expect much in terms of FA signings from the Brewers. They may invest more once Yelich is gone but they will then have to pay Chourio more once that happens.

    A freshman QB is not going to be ready even Manning in Texas sat his first year. You can't expect a freshman to start and be successful at QB.

    Simmons played the entire 2nd half. He was absolute garbage. There were two back to back series where the offense was moving or starting to move and then he throws a horrible pass. Both were intercepted and that was the end. I think Smith was taken out in the 2nd half to keep his redshirt status along with him not being able to make plays to guys who were wide open or coming open. He is a freshman so that is understandable and he was the 4th string emergency QB coming into the season. I am not sure how much you can expect from a freshman QB. Nearly all freshman QB's sit their first year and only play a handful of games or only come in during blowouts. Smith showed all the reasons why he is a freshman but hopefully the experience he has picked up this year will help him develop next year a bit faster. Usually QB's take about 1-2 years to develop after high school. There are very few QB's who succeed as freshman and the ones that do are usually the running QB's and the team has that offense in place along with a good RB or two in the mix.

    Baffling how Simmons can make that TD throw and then throws that interception. It wasn’t even close to the receiver.

    Smith looking like a freshman this game. Missed Trech open twice in the last series. Not sure if it is the weather or just a freshman not looking at all of his options downfield.

    Sometimes you just win close games. The Bears offense is legit and has been legit since their third game of the season. They have only two games so far this year where they haven't scored 20+ games. This is not the same old Bears you may think this but it is not true. They need to fix the defense but the offense is really good. The Bears are doing great at running and passing the ball. You can't just focus on one aspect anymore with the Bears and that is shutting the running game down. The Bears have legitimate threats at WR and TE and have multiple of them at each position.

    So much for that "easy" schedule for the Bears and them not being legitimate. The Bears are just taking it to the Eagles on offense. Other than the one mistake by Williams this has been absolutely dominating game by the Bears offensively. The Bears run game looks better than the Packers did against the Eagles.

    I don’t believe if the Brewers were to trade Peralta it would be because of payroll. The amount that Peralta is making is far far far smaller than Woodruff’s. If the Brewers were to make a payroll dump it would be Yelich and not Peralta. Yelich’s contract off the books would be a net savings versus Peralta’s who would be a net negative.

    So they can be traded, if the player approves. The consent part is the key here.

    I don’t believe the QO has the same rules as a player who signs a new contract in the off season. I believe a team can trade them whenever and don’t have to wait. I don’t see anything in the CBA that states a team would have to wait until June like they would with a FA signing. I believe the QO acts similarly to another year of arbitration between a player and a team.

    Not enough. I don’t believe the Nationals or the Angels would have much if any interest in Patrick and Yoho. A package for Abrams/Neto starts with one of Made or Pratt. Then another pitching prospect and a throw in piece or two. The cost to move on from Ortiz is just way too high. You either have to go out and get someone like Bichette or overpay in terms of prospects in a trade. The Brewers are not doing either so it is Joey Ortiz who will be the starting SS for 2026. Even if you move Turang back to SS Ortiz is still on the team and will be the everyday 3B in this scenario. Take your pick do you want Ortiz at 3B or SS or do you want to trade one of Pena/Made/Pratt for SS help?

    It is early but I was expecting all of my stocks to be in the red today. So far all green.

    I think it is. Look at the remaining schedules for the playoff teams. Most are playing other contenders.

    Their defense sucks but the offense is actually really solid. They have one win against the Browns and then probably have a 50-50 shot of winning one of two against the Packers. That gets the Bears to 10 wins.

    Well they only need to win two more games to get to 10 wins and make the playoffs so I like my chances. Especially when I figured they would go at best 9-8.
