  1. All in at ruining their future? Sure the Padres are all in at ruining their future. Other than Miller I don’t see the impact player that the Padres got for going all in.
  2. There really isn’t an upgrade to Ortiz on the known market at best you are looking at IKF and he is basically Ortiz.
  3. One is Ortiz and the other is IKF.
  4. Why do you want a second Joey Ortiz on the team? Other than May IKF has been as bad as Ortiz.
  5. I still believe the NFL is not competitive because of the salary cap and it is more so on how well teams develop a QB. If you look at all of the bad teams in the NFL there is a repeating theme with nearly every single bad team. The development of the QB or the lack there of is the real reason a team fails in the NFL over a period of time. In the NFL you rarely see a young player go into FA and that has more to do with the sport than the salary cap. A lot of a players prime years are locked up early in the NFL. The NFL also doesn’t have the media issues MLB has. If the Brewers were given nearly $500mm before each season started I believe you would see a higher team salary. Unfortunately MLB doesn’t work like the NFL where it is the league handling the media revenue and not each individual team. A salary itself wont bring parity in the league. You would probably still see the same teams dominating.
  6. That seems overly complex for Doc to follow.
  7. No but there was a similar reaction to when the Brewers signed Perkins. It was ruled a dumpster fire pickup for both players in their respective off seasons. Sometimes you just get lucky or the scouting department actually knows what they are looking for and have found it in both Collins and Perkins. Though they have struck out on a few others.
  8. This is a meh trade. 🫤
  9. This probably saved a roster spot for Jackson as his play in the summer league suggested he should be released.
  10. This is someone I had marked as a Brewers target. It doesn’t surprise me Stearns also was looking.
  11. I think the Dbacks would probably prefer Patrick over the others. Something like Patrick and Black should be close. May need to add another piece to that but I think that is very close to what the Dbacks will get. Not sure if that would win the bid for Suarez but it should be really close. I don’t see the Dbacks trading Suarez until the day of the deadline if they do indeed trade him. There are some rumors that they will just hold onto him and take the pick if they don’t get what they want in a trade.
  12. Dang a lot of my childhood memories are dying. First Ueck my summer babysitter and now Hogan? Sad sad sad year so far.
  13. I prefer Boyz n the Hood as it doesn’t really glamorize the gangster mentality and just puts it as it is a grim reality. America has always been fascinated by gangsters. Going back to the wild west, Italian mob, motorcycle gangs (clubs) and then to the 80’s and 90’s gangsters. This fascination can sometimes turn into a love affair especially in pop culture.
  14. This was the end to a very difficult road trip. I was expecting them to go 2-4 at best and probably 1-5 on this road trip through LA and Seattle. To go 5-1 is just crazy.
  15. This team reminds me of the Cardinals teams when they were winning with players like Skip Schumacher. Those teams were annoying and had no business being as good as they were. Maybe the Brewers can do a 2011 Cardinals season.
  16. I think the Pirates would want someone better than Mitchell as a MLB piece in a trade.
  17. Agree on them not trading him but also that is a rather large contract for the Brewers to absorb.

  19. Not much in the Braves looks all that interesting for the Brewers. Offensively I think only Ozuna will be made available and their other pieces will be overpay or we won’t move them. I guess Iglesias could be an option but he hasn’t looked all that good this year. If you want someone like Albies I think the conversation starts with a Henderson plus package. I am not sure that would be worth it. Ozuna is a DH only right now and that doesn’t make much sense to add for the Brewers.
  20. When was the last time the Brewers had the best record in MLB this late into the season.
  21. I doubt a team will give up the necessary haul of prospects to acquire Skenes. You are talking about multiple top 25 prospects in all of MLB for one player. Not many teams have multiple top 25 ranked prospects. For the Brewers the conversation starts and ends with Misiorowski and Made. If you are not willing to give that up then there isn’t a deal to be made. The reason to keeps Skenes for the Pirates is they won’t get the haul necessary to make that trade. It is probably best for the Pirates to keep him until he only has two or less years of control. This is when it would become far more possible for teams to trade away the required talent to acquire Skenes.
