  1. That is a steep price for Samardzija.
  2. No Gray's value is already set one game is not going to move his value one way or the other. Then why do teams even send scouts to these deadline games if that was the case??? They send scouts to determine if the player is at that value or not. The scouts report back what they saw and the valuation starts again. The results are meaningless unless the scouts see something like a possible injury or something that is going wrong mechanically. But those assessments usually mean don't trade for that player.
  3. No Gray's value is already set one game is not going to move his value one way or the other.
  4. Dave Stewart is that you? Come on Mr. Stewart these are the trades that got you fired in the first place!
  5. Pirates have said nothing about not trading Cole. Cole is available but at a very steep price.
  6. The best pitcher available right now is definitely not Gray. The Pirates have made Gerrit Cole available but it is going to take a lot to get him and the Brewers don't really match up all that well with the Pirates unless you are looking at making the headline being Hader and Burnes plus others.
  7. If Hamels was a Brewer yes I would accept that trade for him if we were not taking on any of his contract. Hamels value is rather low with his contract and his performance so far this year and last year. I would still take him because if the Brewers take on all of Hamels contract they won't have to give up a big time prospect for him. If the Rangers take on some of Hamels contract then yeah that is not enough.
  8. Have you looked at Hamels stats recently? Ace he is not anymore.
  9. So the Rangers may make Darvish and Hamels available. Also the Pirates are making Gerrit Cole available. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/241960628/trade-deadlines-buyers-for-pitchers/ I don't think the Brewers and the Pirates match up all that well for a trade more so on the Pirates side as all of the prospects we have the Pirates already have some that are as good or better. Now the Rangers could be a good place to go. I would take Hamels over Darvish as I think Hamels will cost less in terms of premium prospects. I think the Brewers could get Hamels for something like Ponce, Medeiros, and Demi. With the contract and how Hamels has pitched so far this year it shouldn't take all that much to get him.
  10. http://s2.quickmeme.com/img/1b/1bae09fb2ecdd32e63311526238fb66456ffd699a857396004d37ccf0098303a.jpg I do think he could have a plus plus hit tool if that is what you are referring to as a 7 future hit tool. I also don't think he has all that much to go to become a 7 hit tool player.
  11. My word, Padres get a steal! Clark is going to be really nice MLB OF & Ortiz has a chance to be really good 2-3 pitcher! Hand has been real good & believe has two years of control but that is though one. Prefer one of the older prospects like Ray & Ponce. Clark & Ortiz have been so young at every level.... only starting to tap into potential I agree but I think that is what the Padres are looking for in a return for Hand. Not sure I want to pay what they want in return for Hand.
  12. I wish the Brewers matched up with the Pirates better in terms of prospects. The Pirates are already deep in a few areas that the Brewers are also deep in unless the Brewers want to give up a package of Hader and Ortiz/Bickford + for Cole. Since the Brewers don't match up with the Pirates all that well I will go with this instead: Team Brewers will trade with: Braves Player(s) Brewers will acquire in trade: Teheran Player(s) Brewers will trade away in return: Bickford, Cordell, and Ponce/Orimoloye/Medeiros
  13. Not to go even further off topic but the Prince trade for the Rangers made perfect sense for them then. The Rangers had Odor and Profar in the minors. At that time Profar was knocking on the door and was ready with Odor following very close behind. Trading Kinsler was the right move for the Rangers then and it is now. Unfortunately Prince got a neck injury that had nothing to do with his weight. This is a more of a see I was right Prince would get injured type of an argument.
  14. I think I have watched Deadpool about 10 times now.
  15. I really do not get why some here like Gray if he were on the Brewers last year most would be calling for him to be DFA'd or not to offer him arbitration after this year. Gray is starting to look like a #3 at best but is probably more along the lines of a #4 or #5 type starter going forward. He is definitely not worth what the A's will be asking for. I hope DS stays away from the Gray and Quintana market as teams are going to overpay for what they are getting. If the Brewers are going to give up premium prospects they better be getting back a top of the rotation arm similar to the Greinke and Sabathia trades. Gray is not a Sabathia or even a Greinke level of talent. At best Gray is a Marcum level of talent.
  16. You can't be any further from the truth than what you just said. The cap increased so much last year and that is why so many players got contracts more than what they should have. The cap was supposed to increase higher than it did this year and that is why teams are struggling to keep and sign players. There will not be bargains galore in 2018 not sure what you are basing this off of as the cap is supposed to increase again in 2018 though not as much as it did in the summer of 2016. Plus Tim Hardaway Jr. just signed a 4-year $71m deal. If Tim Hardaway Jr. is getting a 4-year $71m deal this year there is no way there is going to be bargains galore next summer when the cap increases again.
  17. No, he doesn't have the arm strength to play at shortstop or third.
  18. I would trade Hader or Brinson for Cole but not for Quintana or Gray. The most I would offer for Gray would be Phillips and Kirby. If that doesn't get it done I walk away.
  19. The problem with the Cubs is their pitching which has always been predicted as their biggest weakness. They basically have nothing or close to nothing in terms of pitching prospects.
  20. A right hand hitting Wade Boggs. High BA, high OBP, doubles power. That is the ceiling. I think Jose Altuve is a better comp than Boggs.
  21. There was a study a few years back that showed 3B coaches don't send runners enough and are to conservative.
  22. I think Garza stays but will be traded that option year is actually looking really good right now. He would be a very cheap #5 or #4 option for any team really.
  23. No Gray is not worth it and I would rather see some other team trade for Gray and absolutely regret trading for him as he falls apart at the end of the year. If the Brewers are going to give up these prospects Gerrit Cole would be a better target.
