  1. Hart's defense would be a nightmare to watch in Petco.
  2. Moving someone like Dykstra wouldn't really be a loss even if Miller flames out. Dykstra probably at best is a utility player and the Brewers have plenty of those types of players in their farm system. I believe Melvin has been quoted in the past that he believes left handed pitchers develop later in their career. Miller is still young yet and being in AA versus AAA is not something I am worried about the better hitters are usually in AA. He is definitely worth a flier but he maybe moved off the 40 man and if he is I would hope Melvin jumps all over him if the Marlins do that.
  3. I wonder what it would take to get Andrew Miller away from the Marlins. He isn't really having a good year in AA this year but I believe that has more to do with his .347 BABIP. I am not sure what the Brewers would have to give up in order to get Miller but if it is not anything really important I would love to see the Brewers get Miller. I believe Miller still has the potential to be a great or a good pitcher like Parra has shown this year. I'm just not sure the Marlins will be willing to part with Miller just yet. Though I wonder if a package starting with Dykstra would be a good start for a trade for Miller?
  4. I still say the Nationals maybe a fit though I'm not sure who we could get from them though. Probably Zimmerman (not Ryan) and a low level prospect or two. I could see the Nationals then trying to extend Prince at about where Teixeira signed for they will definitely have the money to do that. It will also increase their ticket sales which will be big for them. Having Prince, R. Zimmerman, and Strasburg being the faces of the franchise for the next 4-6 years would be a huge step forward and would more than likely create a big enough buzz for the Nationals. Dunn is also an option but Prince is a bigger name and younger but will cost more in terms of years. I believe with Prince that puts the Nationals as the 2nd or 3rd best team in the NL East. I wouldn't be surprised if the Nationals would then become the favorite to either win the Wild Card or the NL East though I like Atlanta a lot along with the Mets.
  5. I would rather just keep Melvin not like there is anyone better out there. I wouldn't trade for Marcum unless it was Hart going over for Marcum way to much injury concerns in regards to Marcum to trade Lawrie for him. Maybe Marcum, Alvarez, and a lower level prospect. Anything less than that and it would be a horrible trade especially if it is Marcum straight up.
  6. I'm not sure he would hurt him though. http://sportretort.files.wordpress.com/2009/08/derrek-lee-chris-sd-young.jpg
  7. Apparently Zambrano is suspended indefinitely after his last tirade. Link here.
  8. Batting: Walk by Pantera Pitcher: I will be heard by Hatebreed
  9. What about trading Fielder and Hart for Lee and Pineda along with trading Lee to the Rangers for Perez/Font and Evan Reed. That would give the Brewers three starting pitchers in the minors who all have good to great stuff. That maybe a low return for Fielder and Hart but really the Brewers are getting an ace pitcher in Perez a possible ace or #1 in Pineda and a #3 or #4 type pitcher in Reed. There maybe one or two more players in the deal but those players are going to be guys with big question marks. This would definitely help out the Mariners in the long run since they will be receiving one premium bat in Fielder and an average bat in Hart for Lee and Pineda along with any prospects the Brewers could pick up for Lee.
  10. You better add Braun and Gallardo to that list also.
  11. Full Count: Rocky Mountain low Rosenthal's latest. I wonder if this trade would work for the Mariners and Dodgers.? Brewers get Geison Aguasviva and Chris Withrow; Dodgers get Cliff Lee; Mariners get Hart, Salome, and Rogers.? The Dodgers get the pitching that they want and the Brewers get two young pitchers that they need and the Mariners get two positional players and a #4 or #5 type pitcher.? All three of the players that the Mariners are getting will be able to contribute to the team in 2011.? Salome could become the Mariners DH/OF/C of the future the Mariners currently don't have anyone who can put up some power numbers in those spots.? I don't see the Mariners bypassing the Brewers and getting those players because I just do not see the Dodgers giving up the positional players that they do have that the Mariners would be looking to add by trading Lee.? The Brewers do have the positional players that the Mariners are looking for.? If the Mariners would be looking at Gamel then the Brewers would have to ask for Michael Pineda in return.? The return for Lee would just be way to low for the Brewers to trade Gamel for him.? I believe the Brewers could get a whole lot more in return if they traded Gamel than if they traded Lee.? I wonder if the Mariners would take a trade of Fielder, Hart, and Salome for Lee and Pineda and then the Brewers could flip Lee for one or two pitching prospects.?
  12. Actually in the off season is where Fielder's value will increase more so than right now. There will be more teams who would want to trade for Fielder in the off season than there are right now. Right now the Brewers are limited to the Rays, Rangers, Red Sox, Yankees, and Angels realistically. In the off season the teams would change from those five to the Red Sox, Yankees, Blue Jays, Nationals, Cubs, White Sox, Giants, Mariners, Braves, and the Rays. I don't really see the Rays dropping out of possibility of trading for Fielder if they would trade for him now. If the Rays are really looking at Fielder now then they still would be looking at him in the off season. Of the 5th teams right now you can probably eliminate the Rangers, Yankees, and possibly the Angels so that leaves two teams bidding for Fielder that is a lose lose situation for the Brewers. The Brewers may come out behind in the trade if the Red Sox just drop out of the bidding for Fielder which would then hurt Fielder's trade value even more.
  13. Lucroy still won't be catching Wolf and won't be playing everyday as he shouldn't be. Even Mauer gets a regular day off as a catcher.
  14. Davis and Colome would be a fair deal for both the Brewers and the Rays. I would even pay a quarter of Fielder's contract for next year. Colome gives the Brewers a future ace in their minor league system which no one in the minors looks to be one there are a couple of #1 type pitchers but most are #2's or #3's at best with a vast majority of the Brewers pitchers in the minors probably being #4 or #5 type pitchers or bullpen type guys. This would definitely put the Rays over the top offensively not only for this year but next year. The only big problem with trading to the Rays is the question of payroll for next year. I don't believe Prince would fit into that budget for next year I believe the Rays would love to have Prince I just don't think it will be possible budget wise.
  15. That is only a little bit true and wasn't even a consideration when ATL traded for Tex. The Braves believe they were just 1 player away from competing for a championship for the next 1.5 years with Tex. I don't believe Atlanta ever thought they were going to get a home town discount. I don't know why anyone thought that. Just because he went to GT doesn't mean he would give a hometown discount to the Braves.
  16. Tough blow to my fantasy team also.
  17. It doesn't really matter where Heckathorn ends up after this year. He will probably more than likely be in AA next year than anywhere else I don't see Heckathorn having to go to high A he will more than likely skip that stop and go straight to AA.
  18. Davis and Colome would be more than enough for Prince. Colome would really be the center piece of the trade really. Davis if he turns it around would be a good acquisition but Colome is a possible future ACE. Even next year the rotation with Gallardo, Wolf, W. Davis, Parra, Narveson/Davis/Rogers/Rivas/Butler wouldn't be all that bad. I believe the Brewers would have an at least an average rotation if not better.
  19. Go by the Blue book value and any repairs that are going to be needed to the car that was caused by the accident will probably be more than what the car is worth right now. So they will probably more than likely total the car.
  20. While I like the idea of trading Hart for Lee and then flipping Lee for prospects I just don't see Hart being the only piece that would be going to Seattle for Lee. I would think the Brewers would have to give up at least one other minor prospect in that deal though with Gamel it would definitely be straight up Lee for Gamel though I think Gamel by himself could get more in return than what the Brewers could get for Lee. I could see something like Hart and Rogers or a PTBNL.
  21. My biggest question is who wears red and who wears white in home and away games for Wisconsin vs Nebraska. Very big decision there.
  22. Yes please I would love to have Wade Davis.
  23. No thanks his antics would get old rather fast. I would rather just go with Randolph it looks as though the Brewers palyers respect Randolph more than they do Macha at this time.
  24. I haven't shot it down because of the players. I have shot them down because the teams don't make sense like the Rays. Only the Angels really don't make sense in regards to Fielder and pitching prospects they just don't have anyone that wows me in regards to stuff. If the teams made sense like the Rays I would be all for some of their A and AA pitchers that they have. The Rays definitely have the prospects to get Fielder it is just that I don't see the Rays having the desire to go after Fielder. I have even suggested trading for some of the Rangers A and AA guys like Font and Reed. You could probably add Martin Perez to that list and that would be a haul and a half for Prince though I don't see the Rangers really doing a deal like that though. Maybe the Brewers could get Colome from the Rays for Hart that maybe a possibility.
  25. Where do you play him though? Would you then trade McGehee? I wouldn't mind a Braun-Gordon-Gamel lineup that would be rather nice. I would definitely put Gamel at 1B then and have Gordon at 3B though I'm not really sure who is the better 3B though. Maybe a Young and Garza type trade would work out? Parra and Salome/Rivas/Rogers. I would think it would have to be more than that to get Gordon. But I'm pretty sure the Royals would be wanting a pitcher in return and one who would be in their rotation no later than next year. Maybe something like Rivas and Arnett for Gordon?
