  1. Going off of my last post in the other thread. With this announcement it puts MLB one step closer to a national streaming deal. I wonder if Amazon backed out of supporting Bally due to them not wanting to share as much revenue with Amazon. With Bally all but dead now Amazon, Netflix, Apple, YouTube or Disney could step in here and be the streaming provider for MLB games at least for the non big market teams mainly the Dodgers and Yankees. Blackouts are currently being held up by Bally and the large market teams. This development eliminates one of the holdups for getting rid of the blackout rules. I think the mid and small market teams have enough votes to get rid of the blackout rules. The small and mid market teams may be able to get Chicago on their side along with the Angels. That leaves the Dodgers, Yankees, Mets, Red Sox and Giants in the way of removing the blackout rules. I believe it has to be 100% to remove the blackout rules but I could be wrong.
  2. Wish he did that last year. Would have won game 1 vs the Dbacks.
  3. Well it is my 1on1 with my manager and she canceled like 1 minute before so I can follow a bit now.
  4. Game starts during my 1on1 at work. MLB why didn’t you consult me about the start time?
  5. That is too far of a drive. Maybe if they were on a bus the SS would approve of this but not in a motorcade. The motorcade is only for short distance driving and the distance from the airport to the manufacturing plant is already a rather long drive. The longer you have to drive a motorcade the more possibilities of something happening so the SS will try and keep that at the minimum. So the more likely plan would be: Plane --> Motorcade --> site --> Motorcade --> Plane
  6. Overall sure but I didn’t compare them overall just offensively. Going with WAR is not comparing the same players. If Goldschmidt played as many games at DH as Hoskins did his WAR would be lower. Including xwOBA with wRC+ is a bit confusing as you already have that in wRC+. Goldschmidt’s defense has also been declining and it seems as though he is well below average now defensively at 1B. It doesn’t really make any sense to bring in Goldschmidt he is at best just another Hoskins at this point in his career at an older age. It is more likely that Hoskins improves next year on his numbers than it is for Goldschmidt to do the same.
  7. Regan said just say no to drugs, well I am saying just say no to Goldschmidt. The guy is done he was absolutely horrible with runners on base this year and also with runners not on base. If you think Hoskins has been bad this year Goldschmidt has been worse. He isn’t even an elite defensive 1B anymore either. If Goldschmidt would sign a 1-year $10mm or less contract sure sign him but anything more I hope the Brewers just stay away.
  8. Do insurance commercials count for being TV famous? Because Mutumbo has passed away. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5806126/2024/09/30/dikembe-mutumbo-cancer-died-nba-news/?source=user_shared_article
  9. He looks absolutely done at least as a regular.
  10. I don't get how Sam Darnold is playing this well 4-weeks into the season. He shouldn't be playing this good.
  11. What would be worse getting laid out by a punter or a cheerleader?
  12. If you score 6 times I don’t really care about the number of strike outs.
  13. Impossible to say without going through every game and looking at his decisions and then knowing who was or wasn’t available. At best he probably won or lost 1-3 games for the Cubs. It is just so difficult to pin down a manager’s impact on a season.
  14. If it wasn’t for that muffed punt return the score would have been a lot closer.
  15. That was a very winnable game. That muffed punt return just killed the Badgers and they never recovered from it. Felt like they went to a very conservative play calling in the second half. Plays took forever to come in. Locke still sucks even though he performed a little bit better for about one quarter then turned into his awful performance.
  16. No confidence in Locke to throw an accurate pass would be my guess.
  17. The two turnovers by the defense were legit not sure what your argument is. Only the muffed punt by USC was a real benefit for the Badgers in the game.
  18. On a few passes yes but majority have not been.
  19. So many dumb penalties. Go from 3rd and manageable to 3rd and long. Just poor execution on this drive where they were setup to score easily.
  20. Not really as it was mostly the muffed punt return that killed the Badgers. Without the game is probably a little bit closer.
  21. Locke a few good passes in the first half absolutely horrible in the 2nd half.
  22. There’s the horrible Locke pass.
  23. I really hate side arm QB’s. So many batted balls if you don’t have the arm strength to get over the defense and to the receiver quickly enough. Locke is like waiting for a balloon getting to the receiver when he has to loft the ball. Just not enough arm strength.
  24. With Locke at QB? He would have lost 10 yards on that.
