  1. It is oversimplifying it because that is the reality for the Brewers. I don't really care about the Dodgers. The Brewers signing one player to about $4-5mm of their international bonus pool makes very little sense. The Brewers need to spread that risk out and thus why offering Sasaki anything doesn't really matter. They need to spread the money out and get as many players as they can. From all of the reports coming out about Sasaki it sounds like he is not yet MLB ready and will need some time in the minors. How much time in the minors that is tough to say. But he won't just slot into a TOR-type pitcher.
  2. Are basic problem solving skills just not taught in school anymore? I swear nearly every gen z person asks me the same question over and over again and when they run into a problem that can be solved by some small amount of basic problem solving skills they get stuck and can't move forward. Then I will get a response of I don't understand. Then it is like pulling teeth to get them to explain what they don't understand. They just say again I don't understand. I think I am just going to repeat that and say I don't understand what you don't understand. It feels like they just want me to fix whatever it is that they don't want to learn how to fix. So frustrating. Rant time. It feels like Gen Z just wants everything to work and when it doesn't work they have no idea how to fix or where to look to fix it or how to come up with a fix on their own. Not every single problem is going to be documented or known how to fix sometimes you have to use your own brain and figure out a solution. It feels like Gen Z just doesn't want to do this. They want everything to be told to them on how to fix something. Where has the intuitive and inventive thinking gone? Is it just here is how you do something if it is not written down then no solution exists and you need to give up? I would rather deal with Millennial overly complaining about anything and everything than deal with Gen Z. It is like they are a computer that hasn't received a software update in 20-years and is now trying to do a new feature in a program that it doesn't know about. I guess all of that trying to figure out how to set the clock on the VCR that had very little to no instructions or someone lost the instructions set me up for success later in life. Rant done.
  3. Why does this even matter? The Brewers made the correct move in signing multiple players instead of reducing the amount of international players they could sign by signing Rosaki. Why sign one maybe they work out player when you can sign four or five for the same amount?
  4. The Suns would have to trade Beal and I believe the Heat want someone back in return that they can use now and in the future. I don't think Khris would make sense for the Heat. Dame would still make some sense for the Heat. I believe the rumors are Beal + picks to the Heat for Butler. I just don't think Butler is a fit on the Bucks as a player. He just doesn't fit into the offense like Dame does and I think you are going backwards as I don't see the Heat wanting Khris in return. For the Suns it makes sense as you can just replace Beal with Butler and their offense doesn't really change all that much. Basically Butler becomes Khris in Bud's offense which was a mismatch for Beal. Beal can't do what Khris does but Butler can.
  5. He wouldn’t approve a trade to Milwaukee. I wouldn’t take him even if he would allow a trade to Milwaukee. You would have to trade Dame and I prefer Dame over Butler.
  6. To be fair 2nd round picks are nearly worthless in the NBA.
  7. I still believe Pujols was the other player(s) who had elevated counts when Braun was caught. Still not sure why Braun was the only player leaked who failed the test. There were others that failed but his name was the only one released. There was also the former trainer for Pujols saying he did inject steroids into Pujols. But that will all be forgotten for Pujols because he was with the Cardinals.
  8. I need some of that global warming today it was only like 30 degrees when I woke up today!!!!!!
  9. Just going to leave this here:
  10. People start wearing winter jackets around here when it dips below 70.
  11. It was a warm winter here in Phoenix but the last few days have been brutally cold with highs only in the mid 50’s.
  12. I really don't want to see MLB become the NFL. The parity in the NFL is just disgusting and makes it overly watered down. I can't really tell you the difference between the middle teams in NFL and the best teams in the NFL. To me it is just team A vs team B now.
  13. That eliminates another team for Alonso and Bregman, probably more so Alonso than Bregman here. I don't want to see anything like the NFL style parity as it is just stale and boring. I haven't watched a full NFL game in about 10 years now the game is just way too boring now and there really isn't much of a difference between the top and bottom teams other than QB and/or coaching. If the MLB were to go the parity route I would prefer something like the NHL or NBA. Just make the salary ceiling a bit lower and increase the penalties for going over and add a salary floor around $100mm.
  14. It is just completely toxic and fake. If you use it for anything other than finding a job sure it is fine. But poke around on some of the other stuff and it is just absolute cancer. Stuff like this:
  15. Not entirely true. Insurance rates tend to be more local than they are national and wouldn't have much of an impact on the 10-year. The biggest gripe with investors has been the sluggish economy which outperformed the metrics but it went from a turd sandwich to the turd being removed from the bread. The economy still being a bit sluggish is the main factor the 10-year hasn't moved down. There is still a fear that inflation is not in check yet. I don't expect the FED to raise rates but I don't think they are going to do any more cuts for at least the first 2 quarters of 2025. If inflation rises above what they are expecting there may be a round of rate hikes which will send the 10-year even higher. The only way I see the 10-year going down is if we see expected growth rates around 3.5-4% then I will fully expect rates to come down for the 10-year. It really is all going to depend on the economic growth rates so Q1 will be extremely important. If we only see something around 3% I don't think that is enough to encourage the market to bring down those rates.
  16. It doesn't bug me but I think all social media is a cancer and the biggest one of them all is LinkedIn and Meta (Facebook and Instagram). Meta is probably the main reason or the biggest reason there are so many mental health and health issues for young women and mental health issues for men especially the 13-25 year old males. I don't use TikTok but I am going to assume it has the same issues as other social media platforms.
  17. I am surprised there hasn't been more cases or there may have been but the schools it happened to happened to be in a smaller conference and the larger conference or team just paid the smaller schools off to push it under the rug. This happening between two large programs isn't surprising the only surprising part of this is that it hasn't happened previously.
  18. That was just a very poor loss.
  19. Can’t can’t can’t lose at home against someone like Xavier. If they lose this game that’s going to be a really bad loss. Probably drops them from a #1 seed and possibly a 2 seed in the tournament.
  20. I hate working with Gen Z’s. That is all.
  21. Have been watching TREX LABS and his series on the ATF is rather interesting. This one specifically is extremely interesting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFGFcklICvo
  22. People were expecting it to not be the Dodgers? Why?
  23. If the Brewers sign Alonso it would be closer to what they did with Grandal. So a 1-year deal with a mutual option which will get declined from both sides which just makes it a 1-year deal. 1B/DH free agents don't have much in terms of a bargaining position in free agency. Alonso is going to learn this real quick as I don't believe there is a team out there that will beat what the Mets initially offered him last year with the 7-year deal. He will have to take a 1-year deal similar to what Grandal had to do in order to get a big payday.
  24. Mortgage rates unlikely to drop below 6% in 2025 regardless of what the FED does or doesn’t do. The rate of 6-7% looks to be permanent for now until the 10 year treasury starts to go down but I don’t believe this will happen anytime soon.
