Not necessarily at the park, but I enjoy when people find out you're a Brewer fan and then make an argument about the Brewers based on one or two stupid things, because that's all they really know about the Brewers. For example, some of the ones I've heard this year about why the Brewers are not good: - Capuano sucks, the Brewers will not win - The Brewers start off good every year, and then they collapse - Sheets always gets hurt - "Turnblow" (Saying it like they thought that up) - My personal favorite, they here that Gagne (usually pronounced Gag-knee) is a steroid guy so the Brewers will lose
I really don't get this either. You'd have to take Utley, Phillips, probably Cano, Kendrick, and then maybe Kinsler. I'm probably missing a few, but that's only about five second basemen that I'd rather have than Rickie right now.
Awesome, he answered my email. It's surprising how anyone could come away with a bad impression of him. Even in one of the lines in his journal: "Last week, we played the Mississippi Braves, who are a very talented ball club and will do well this season. We took five games from them and were 5-0 for the start of the season." They swept them in five games. I'm sure most wouldn't make it a special point to say that about a team they just demolished.
I'd say the most logical choice would be to put McClung on waivers and move Bush to the pen. What is Bush's ERA against hitters the first go-around in the order? Any better? Any worse? In that way, Bush is kinda an abnormality. I don't have the numbers right now, but if you made a graph of his ERA by inning, he tends to really struggle in the first inning, so it would start out high then decrease and then take a major jump again around the sixth inning.
I'm pretty sure it was Gabe Gross last year, but I'm not sure who it is now. I would think that it's Gabe again. Edit: Dave Bush will be mentioned as well, but I think he's a last-resort option.
There are all kinds of possible combinations, left to right: LaPorta, Braun, Hart Braun, Hart, LaPorta LaPorta, Hart, Braun or... resign Cameron and have a LaBrart mega-platoon on the corners http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif.
Because LaPorta's clock is ticking. If he can't handle the OF, he really has no place in Milwaukee in the next two years. I think next year's opening day outfield will feature LaPorta, Hart, and Braun. Where each of them are is to be determined, LaPorta is playing in right at AA for now. That would allow them to drop Cameron.
The other thing that bothers me is when they show a baserunner or someone in the field and then cut back to the pitch after it has been released and the batter is already swinging or taking it.
He's just one of those guys that I reeeaallly don't like, and it's not just the fact that he's a Cub. I can respect Lee, Soriano, etc., but Ramirez just drives me nuts.
I saw some of their game during commercial breaks today, and Zito was in the 83-84 range with his fastball. That's not a good sign for them. Cain and Lincecum are obviously studs, but it's going to be a rough year for them.
It seems odd to be thinking about next year on the eve of opening day, but if this lineup is intact next year, and Matt LaPorta also plays a full season, some home run records are going to fall.
Poor guy! While you suffer missing those days of school, I will be sitting through- and enjoying!- math class with a teacher who will refuse to put the game on. *sigh* Monday will be my Birthday and my birthday wish is that the Brewers have a 6 run first inning. My birthday is Tuesday, and my wish- in advance- is very similar.
Kind of reminds me of Jeffress except without the drugs. I don't think that's fair to Jeffress. He has never pitched above single A. I don't really think his problems are on the diamond like JDLR's are. All indications are that Jeffress will be a good pitcher if he can handle the drug issue.
The problem I have with the Hall situation is that Ned's reasoning was that he wanted to "play the hot hand", and that Corey might be batting there at some point anyway. First of all, Hall didn't exactly have a stellar spring training. The other problem with that arguement is the fact that his whole strategy this year is supposed to be "continuity" and not changing things all the time (the reason he is planning on hitting Gwynn second). Then he goes back and hits Hall fifth and says it is subject to change. Positive thing though- I guess this means he's not going to be benching Billy for Gross anytime soon.
