  1. Last time we took a flier on a Cordero who was down on his luck (yeah, not as bad as Chad), it turned out okay. Coco was in the middle of a mediocre season following a poor season when we got him for Lee. Based on that logic I say we give him an offer immediately.
  2. Brewers make sense for Hoffman too. Good place to pad stats, decent money, much more competitive than the Padres, likely guaranteed closer post. I think they are using LA as just negotiation tool. I'd be surprised if this didn't happen soon. If we bring back Sheets, I'll be pretty happy about our offseason and optimistic about being competitive this year. If we can pull 84-88 wins next year, I'll be happy. Obviously not as fun as this year, but I'd be pleased.
  3. I'd rather have Abreu than Dunn. Love that he gives us OBP, which no one else in our lineup does. Do we think Corey can adjust to center? I'm not so sure, especially because I've never seen a RF who looks at the notepad for positioning more than Corey does. Shouldn't he be able to pick that stuff up?
  4. I agree completely. After two years Tex will have made what Ryan makes over the life of his 6-year deal. Unbelievable.
  5. I'm not all that upset by this. While it is unfair for one team to buy all the talent in the world, we all know that baseball is not the type of game where the team with the most superstars wins every game. Having the evil empire makes for great tv and the rest of the country all gets together against the Yankees. I bet you they win one or two world series in the next six year. Brewers will take the rest. I'm furious about the draft pick, but what can you do?
  6. I like this deal. Kameron's best attribute was his leadership and fielding range. The former can be found elsewhere, the latter was in decline. I strongly believe that his stats last year were pumped up based on useless extra base hits. I still hold him responsible for his inability to stop the bleeding in the first game at Phillly so I'm glad I don't have to watch him and remember that near catch. I liked his patience at the plate because even when you knew he was going to strike out he did it on 7 or 8 pitches vs. Corey's 3 to 4 pitches. Melky is a bit of an unknown. Maybe he had a down year. Maybe he is a clubhouse cancer. Maybe he just isn't that good. We won't know for a little bit. But he is cheaper, allows us to go after a decent pitcher and maybe sign someone like Hardy to a long-term deal with the hope of moving him to third. He is younger, so could end up being a great player still and could provide more than a year. Not long ago everyone was mad we exercised Cam's option, now we're upset we basically got a new player for just exercising that?
  7. I'm relieved that this is finally over. My understanding was that we get the Yanks pick (24??) and a sandwich pick. I'm usually wrong on this stuff though. Think this means someone like Hall or Cam is more likely to be traded out there now? THANKS CC!
  8. Maybe a good package of young Yanks can be had in exchange for Hall and Cam and their 400 Ks.
  9. I think Garland WAS better than Suppan, but is in decline. Not worth what he'll cost at all unless he pitched with cats in his pants.
  10. Is there a reason that San Fran isn't in the equation?I think he'd fit in well there. Sure they have Zito's contract, but I still see CC in Cali, but wonder why SF hasn't been raised like LA. I think he'll take a discount to play in the NL.
  11. I think he is a good #3. He has been pretty healthy and his delivery leads me to believe that he won't have the health issues that plague so many starters. I see him as a poor man's Maddux. Ignoring April and May he had a really solid year and gave us one heck of a ride during that no hit 'bid.' I think we extend him very soon.
  12. I think it is a little interesting that people were disappointed that we exercised the option, now they're disappointed that we may deal him. I think we know what Cam gets us. He is a good guy and seems to help in the clubhouse (unlike Melky). However, the dude was not very clutch at all. His fielding is in decline and I feel like his stats were padded by the irrelevant homerun. I can't remember a player with more meaninglessly timed homeruns. Melky has is an outstanding fielder. I'm for a Kennedy/Melky deal if someone can convince me that Melky's attitude is unlike Estrada's.
  13. eh...i couldn't care less about this. McGahee will probably appear in 20 games as a Brewer. I'm not sad to see Dillon go. He was a little overrated in my mind. His one plus was his good eye and that seemed to be gone when he reappeared this year in September. I really am going to miss baseball for the next few months.
  14. I heard on ESPN that Weeks and Hall were starting. The way Moyer is pitching, I don't have much confidence. BUT I'm going to wear my lucky socks that I haven't worn since opening day. I'm hoping itll help Hall. Go Crew, Go Badgers, Go Pack. After last weekend (save the Brewers sunday game) I feel like we're due for a good weekend in wisconsin sports. Section 411
  15. I just called again and they told me 2:30 so I'm not sure about this 4 hours early thing. I plan on getting there around 2 and hoping they will let us in. Can't wait!
  16. Just called again and they still say 2:30. Any thoughts on the best place to get in at 2:30 sharp? I have preferred pass.
  17. Good math....
  18. This is as close to a must win as you'll get. You have your ace, if you don't win, you have to rely on wins from both Bush and Soup, which is a lot to ask. I think one of those guys will throw darts and shut them down, but I have little faith in both. I thought we'd pluck a win yesterday, but alas we're going to need to take care of business at home. Let's start a winning streak!
  19. I just don't know about our hitters. No one is having good at bats except maybe Counsel and Durham. Their approach in game one was a little absurd. But i have to give credit to Hamels. He pitched a gem. Would've liked to see more patience though.
  20. I don't know yet. Tried calling but didn't get an answer. Am I correct that if it is the same, we won't be able to get in until 130?
  21. I'll be so pissed if McClung doesn't make it. They guy throws some nasty heat and can pitch in any situation. I loved watching him throwing elbows around to get that HR ball.
  22. I have an idiotic question: If you buy a game 4 ticket from a broker and the Brewers sweep, do you get any sort of return?
  23. Game 1: Brewers at PHILLIES, Wednesday. Game 2: Brewers at PHILLIES, Thursday. Game 3: PHILLIES at Brewers, Saturday. Game 4: PHILLIES at Brewers, next Sunday, if necessary. Game 5: Brewers at PHILLIES, Oct. 7, if nec I need to get tickets!?!?!?! WOEWOWOOWOWOWOWOWOWOOWOWOWOWOWOWOO
  24. WOW! THAT IS ALL I CAN SAY!
  25. CC's year surpasses any of Brett's as most unbelievable year by a Wisconsin athlete. I love Brett, but nothing can compare to what the big fellow did. Without Mookie Wilson, I don't think the Mets are going to win this.
