  1. And yet, here we are... debating it. 😂
  2. I am optimistic about the O-Line this year and also noted that Bakh has been running drills this year. That is great to see. I'm sort of "cheering" for a starting lineup of Bakh-Jenkins-Myers-Tom-Nijman. I think this gives them the best "upside" starting OL. Tom obviously needs to start somewhere. Myers has the most to improve from last year, but also has the physical gifts to do so. Nijman was great at LT, very good at RT (save for the last game when he was injured and benched). That leaves us with Runyan. Runyan is OK (though I'm more down on him than most), but is physically limited and probably maxed out at "average".
  3. Given Giannis' game style, I could buy that he might have peaked already. His game is predicated on being uber-athletic. Father time catches up with him too. When that is gone, he won't have a jumper to fall back on.
  4. Tis the season for "best shape of my life" and "finally got my head on straight" news articles to abound. Nothing to see here.. please disperse... 😉
  5. I think he was referring to the extra time it would take for fresh squeezed. I'd go with concentrate as long as it tastes good. No offense, but I wouldn't expect people to be very picky when eating out of a hot dog cart. People are eating there for convenience.
  6. Maybe they could trade him to Dallas... but I doubt they get the haul that Hershel Walker brought...
  7. Danica Patrick, Olivia Munn, Shailene Woodley...
  8. Good points about schedule... I hadn't factored that in before. But I think our WR and TE core is going to have a worse performance. I believe they are higher ceiling overall, but that won't come out this year...yet. Especially at the TE level. And I think it will take Love a bit to get used to blitz calls, avoiding pressure in the pocket, when to run, etc... things you don't get in practice time. I also don't see this team better defensively. Still have a gaping hole at safety and out DL depth is suspect (not to mention the starting DL isn't overly proven). Personally, I'm ok with a step back this year and think the talk of a losing record being a failure is sad. Give the team a year to get some experience, grown, and gel before expecting too much.
  9. Wow. Those are some high expectations. Rodgers won 6 games his first year with some very good experienced WRs and a similar (maybe a touch worse) defense. You listed off a bunch of things that Love is going to have to work out in-game. Plus, a stable of WRs and TEs still figuring out the game. If they can win 10 games next year. Love is probably destined for the HOF (i.e. not because of one year, but because he is that caliber of player). Either that, or you think Rodgers really held us back last year?
  10. I just drove through Chicago (shudder) to get from Indiana to Milwaukee... I tried slowing down in construction zones, but it was crazy how fast people were buzzing around me. I normally drive 5 over, but felt like I had to do 10 over just to be a touch safer. But it was clear there were some that didn't change anything in the construction zones (80-90mph).
  11. I guess my expectations are lower. To me a winning season is Love looking like a good QB and our WRs/TEs showing growth. This squad has more upside than last year's team, but a long way (like a year or two) to go to realize it and a much lower floor than last year.
  12. Do you mean "tilt the season one way" as in making the playoffs? Personally, I have a hard time seeing this offense being a playoff bound one unless Love is just awesome or the defense is top 5. Rodger's first year starting the Packers went 6-10, throwing for over 4000 yards with Jennings, Driver, Nelson, and Jones as his top 4 WRs. Grant ran for over 1200 yards that year. Granted, I think we have better TEs even as rookies than having Donald Lee and a very green Jermichael Finley. And the 2008 defense was somewhere around Barry's norm. I guess, I'm expecting somewhere around the same: 6 wins.
  13. Meh... Lazard made sense. He is a decent WR and should contribute. But Cobb was our 4th best WR and 6th best pass catcher (Jones+Tonyan) last year on a team sorely lacking WRs. Two rookie WRs passed him up. NYJ will have Wilson, Conklin, and Lazard clearly ahead of Cobb. He might fit into Elijah Moore's role, but still has Corey Davis in competition too. He could easily be the 5th WR and if he isn't on ST, he is probably crippling the team more than helping. I love what Cobb was, but he isn't that anymore unfortunately.
  14. Meanwhile in NY, they are playing, "What's Love got to do with it?"
  15. I was contemplating the disparity between LVN's strength numbers at the combine and his obvious power in his game tape. I guess the simple answer is that he has grown a lot in a few short years and his arms/chest haven't quite caught up. Thus his game tape is probably more a result of lower body power. So when his upper body strength does catch up to his lower body, which is probably one of the easier things to "fix" in the NFL....wow, pretty high potential.
  16. $260k is higher than a 6th round pick. That is odd on multiple fronts... how many UDFAs actually make a dent in the NFL (yes, we have a list of players like Sam Shields, Tramon Williams, and Allen Lazard) but they represent such a small portion. And if you didn't think the guy was worth a 6th/7th round pick... why pay for it now? I guess "buying" another 6th/7th round pick. Not to mention that many UDFAs take more than one stop to succeed (Williams and Lazard were waiver wire pickups).
  17. So will the first pick in the 7th be a Kicker?
  18. Are you just focusing on the negative? 😉
  19. Rashee Rice just seems like a Packer WR. But I'm afraid they doom him by grabbing him in the 3rd... Tillman is a Packer WR type too
  20. Yeah, that was one reason I like him is to fill that Z-Smith role. I loved how Z would shift around and seemingly find a weakness. Flexiblity and rotation is a good thing. Engebare is another option like that too (though less athletic).
  21. Eventually on run D. His weakest point was his strength... (at last on his combine numbers). I'm hoping he had a bad day. In the 8th percentile for single gap DEs (including Bosa and P-Smith): https://www.mockdraftable.com/player/lukas-van-ness
  22. Yes! Ness was actually my preferred pick, but seemed like he was dropping on polls so I was expecting him in the 20-25 range, but still a very Packer pick. Lots of upside.
  23. Unless someone really falls and surprises us... I'd prefer a vet this year. Give Love a vet to give him some feedback and support.
  24. Sounds like a New Orleans type pick at #29 and gets the Taysom Hill treatment (initially at least). If Sean Payton was there, I'd bet on it. But since the Broncos don't have a 1st or 2nd Round pick, I doubt Sean is going to get him.
