Clearly there is much more to any player than the athletic measurements. DA's footwork was often lauded as he could pretty much create separation right at the LOS.
So I was curious what DA's measurements were and I found this web site that really does a nice job comparing each metric by percentiles to all players in that position. DA's breakdown looks like:
Vertical Jump (89%), Weight (75%), 3 Cone (74%), Arm Length (69%), 10yd split (68%), and Broad jump (68%) were all the physical measurements that were above average.
The others - 40 yd dash, hand size, height, 20yd shuttle, were all below average.
Now... a one point sample size doesn't mean much. And his WR comparisons are not inspiring either. But I think it is clear how his physical measurements contributed to the type of player he was:
Vertical Jump contributed to his TD and contested catch capabilities.
3-cone and 10yd splits (with his footwork) made him tough to cover in routes.
40yd dash kept him from being much of a deep threat.
