  1. My family loves the Jackbox games. We have done them over zoom or just as a family and even work parties over zoom. Works really nicely. Our favorites are Quiplash and Drawful. Watch for 1/2 price sales though. The format to launch the games are somewhat unique. I already had a steam account (free account) so that wasn't a problem for me. They list the supported platforms on the homepage so you can see what works for you.
  2. I think the main issue with the Packers sticking in a rookie RB in right away is pass protection. You don't want a RB out there that will endanger your QB on a passing play or allow the defense a 95% guarantee that you are about to run the ball (because he can't pass protect). I think that is where Dillon is right now - looks decent running the ball, but unsure about pass protection. Jones and Williams certainly went through their growing pains here too.
  3. Hmmm... Mertz throws for 5TDs in first game... 4 star WR commits to WI. Events connected?
  4. Even better was the Pirate's preview just below the Brewers: What they could do: Well, I mean .... oh, let's not even go there. What we predict they will do: Shed sad tears.
  5. Gary was very frustrating in the Viking game. So many plays found him standing next to the action, hands on hips and not very engaged. He was much more active and impactful last night. I suppose if you compare his first and second years, he is trending the right direction. But still a bit frustrating to have such a minimal impact so far for such a high draft pick.
  6. Kris Barnes is the one who tested positive, but no symptoms. I'm curious when Martin and Williams might be able to come back. The NFL rules are pretty vague when it comes to those exposed to someone with COVID, but no positive test themselves.
  7. Yes, I was thinking about this also. If there is any year for the Brewers to draft a player here, it would be this one. Conversely, I think they will protect more than in the past - despite not having any sure-fire MLB players to protect. Feliciano seems to be the best bet. Spanderberg or Hummel due to lack of MLB options and a few pitchers - File and Brown seem most likely.
  8. I'd actually be surprised if no one is crunching those numbers. They just don't make for interesting reading for use arm-chair GMs.
  9. I would be concerned about how Yelich could field groundballs. But assuming that isn't an issue, it probably is less about "can Yelich pass in LF" and more about "is it easier to find a good offensive 1B or LF"? Traditionally, finding a good hitting 1B was pretty easy, but lately it is oddly difficult.
  10. My only response is that transitioning between different modes is really hard on my kids. But full time school from home is really hard on working parents. My wife and my situation is about as ideal as it gets. I'm in full WFH mode and she is a stay at home mom. We formerly homeschooled our kids. We have a couple special needs kids where the transition is very hard. And getting special services are pretty close to impossible while at home. I manage a team of engineers that have widely varying situations. A single dad with kids in hybrid - he has really struggled to get work accomplished when the kids are home; sometimes working weekends to make up time. Husband/Wife (both work for me) with school aged and newborns - they pulled their kids out of public school for a private school that would meet in person. Others taking time off to run to COVID tests so their kids can go back to daycare. And those examples are of people in full WFH mode and very flexible situations (our company has bent over backwards to provide flexibility for us). I can't imagine people with jobs that require them to be in person or less flexible work situations and dealing with school from home. No answer is easy unfortunately...
  11. Living in Chicago, and now LA, I have been able to watch the Brewers for free the last 2 years because I get a free MLB account through T-Mo. It's been awesome. I've paid ~$60/year for it the last few years. But now that Sprint merged with T-Mobile, I'll get it for free too.
  12. The ironic thing is that it is cheaper to watch Brewers games outside of Wisconsin than inside. Dumb black-out rules!
  13. I had to stop listening to Pandora there were so many ads. My sons complained about the amount of ads on YouTube. Don't fool yourself that it is only TV ads.
  14. [sarcasm]Two WRs and one LT was "in close contact" with a kicker? They should be ashamed![/sarcasm] This could be one ugly game tonight. Hope this isn't the start of a ripple effect of others being sick....
  15. I'd be interested in seeing numbers if anyone has them. My subjective view based on the games I saw last year was that he had fewer obvious outs last year at home; while I do remember many blatantly bad sends in years before. And I guess if any year to be a windmill, last year was it. Hard to rely on getting ANOTHER hit when they were hard to come by.
  16. Jason Bourne would've kicked Covid's butt! Or Covid just got a bad case of Jason Bourne and I don't think it'll make it.
  17. Next year is going to be a $$ squeeze year for everyone I think. Many FAs will be signed to one year deals. So I guess that the Hader question will be answered on whether a team feels that giving up prospects for Hader is "cheaper" than paying for a FA reliever (i.e. concerned more with cash flow than talent "currency'). It is also possible that Hader might be more valuable at the trade deadline given the current situation.
  18. Certainly that is a ton of money, but it isn't as if the money "disappears" either. People are paid to make those ads, update websites, create TV programming, make signs... it does create jobs. I could still deal with a lot LESS of it, however...
  19. I have a friend that went to Walmart and tried on a couple pair to figure out what strength worked for him. Then ordered a set of 4 from Amazon in that strength. He wishes he got progressive lenses though so he doesn't have to pull them down when going from near to far. So he told me. If you can't get out at all, I'd just order a cheap pair of +1.0 and +1.25 strength to see how it goes. My friend ended up at +1.5. He was stubborn and ignored it for a while.
  20. First week of fasting went pretty well. I'm doing 16/8 fasting (so 6:30PM to 10:30AM) and using both the Fastic and Fasting Tracker apps - both have their positives and I'm not sure which I prefer yet. I do get hungry in the morning as I love breakfast, but my coffee consoles me. It doesn't take long for it to go away; a couple times I've fasted straight to lunch. Only one time did I come short of 16 hours (15.5 hours) and that was because I was out for brunch on Saturday with friends. I'm down 4 pounds, but my weight goes up and down a couple pounds each week normally and I seemed to start on a high point. I've not changed my diet greatly - I had a nice ribeye Saturday night and pizza on Wednesday night. But generally we do eat pretty healthy (very little eating out, mostly homecooked meals). Eating more carrot and celery sticks at lunch as my side is probably the main change I've made to my diet. As someone mentioned above, I've noticed that I do tend to fill-up faster during supper. So I'm not sure if that is stomach shrink or just that meals tend to be more compressed and you don't fully empty before eating again. Either way, I've noticed a few times where I eat less at supper too.
  21. I'm thinking most of the Bear's hate comes from the 80's when there were a lot of dirty plays and cheap shots going on (on both sides). But I wanted the Packers to draft Urlacher, so I don't really hate him (but hated playing against him). And I really respected Payton and Singletary. Of course, most of WI's population is closer to Chicago also. But I grew up near Superior, WI and only had Duluth TV stations. So it was Vikings all the time. The sports announcer on the news wouldn't even mention the Packers unless they played the Vikings. Stores would rarely even sell Packer gear. Thus, it always has and will be the Vikings (despite living in MN right now.... ) And after watching the Saints/Bears game, I completely forgot about Sean Payton... I don't like the Saints exclusively for him. It was hard cheering for New Orleans to win.
  22. Yes, he was playing MLB. Or at least I kept seeing him 5-7 yards behind the LOS.
  23. Wow... that is a lot of hate on Lazard considering he was on pace for 69 catches, 1355 yds, and 11TDs the first three games of the year. I don't think Lazard would ever be a #1 WR (as those numbers would suggest), but has great recognition of defense, excellent hands, and just a knack for finding open spots. I think he is a #2 WR and clearly at least a #3.
  24. I don't blame him. There isn't a third WR on this roster. Adams, Lazard, and a bunch of roster fillers at this point.
  25. We clearly lost the game, but that was very poorly reffed. It would've been more "meh" until they picked up that obvious PI against Tonyan. That was an absolutely horrible call as it was so obvious. DB wasn't looking, both hands on Tonyan before the ball, one hand pulling down Tonyan's arm - that should've been PI three ways. I thought the one on Alexander was legit. Jackson's was iffy. There were a couple of other poor calls going the other direction too. I thought Martin looked pretty good, but kind of disappeared late. Amos also looked good, but neither was enough to elevate the defense. The whole D-line was garbage, including OLBs. Clark was getting pushed back far too often. The gap between Lowry and P-Smith was horrible. So many rushes with a two-lane highway going between them. Z-Smith made a few plays, but a bone-headed offsides penalty. Gary ended far too many plays by standing and watching someone else tackle the ball carrier. Dillon was strong on several rushes and one nice catch. But they obviously don't trust him in the passing game much. He disappeared in the second half. Not sure what is happening to Jenkins. Back-to-back weeks with a holding penalty. MVS still a non-factor. St. Brown needs to learn to tuck the ball when going to the ground to hold the catch. Good to see Tonyan and Sternberger play better. Both Wagner and Turner held up nicely for the second week in a row. Overall, it looked like Vikings made half-time adjustments and the Packers relaxed too much.
