  1. Tonight is the night. Throw your predictions in the ring!
  2. Just looking at the changes being made on defense, one could say that we are rebuilding. Probably 2 new starting CBs from opening day last year (King became a starter part way through), a new starting safety, a new starting DL (Wilkerson) and a lot of depth changes. One reason that I was done with Caper is that the individual talent never ready reflected on the field. There were so many communication gaps and coverage flaws... I never got the impression that Capers really was in control the last couple years. So simply by that measure, I think we will be better. Top 10? Maybe not, but not bottom 10 either. As for drafting Landry, I keep getting bad Jamal Reynolds flashbacks. Not sure if that is warranted or even if they are comparable players, but my flashbacks are real.
  3. Agreed, but on Thursday/Friday... I hate waiting.
  4. There were even sightings of Parker playing defense.... and good defense!
  5. Even if Ramirez doesn't make the Milwaukee BP, he should make some good trade bait as a deal sweetener if he keeps pitching like this. Having too many good lefties is always a good problem. Actually having too many good is a good thing.
  6. Given Max's defensive prowess behind the plate, I'd be ok with his 238 Ave given he has a 319 OBP. But he has to have more than a 286 SLG... Someone get that guy some Wheaties!
  7. Is thiswhat you were trying to link? Youtube link:
  8. I wouldn't mind if Knebel takes the 9th back, but I hope the rest are used interchangeably as the situation exists. I like Jeffress' role as the "starter-closer" as Bill put it today. He does a good job in setting the table for the rest of the BP.
  9. Thames is minority partner. Majority shareholder is actually Bill Hall. vs. Reds: Bill Hall: 289/368/569/938 Thames: 344/481/922/1.403 Granted, Bill Hall gets extra points for doing most of it on Mother's Day while rocking the pink bat (and more ABs)...
  10. Actually the first game of the season that I was able to see. I'd preferred to hold on that 20 pt lead, but an exciting game anyway. My boys and I were yelling when Giannis scored off the tip.
  11. Very nice replay of yesterday. I could stand to see that a few more times...
  12. Not only Brewer depth, but MLB catching depth is very thin. I'm sure someone will come asking for one of Bandy/Vogt at some point.
  13. No. Its because all the other seasons happened too. Career numbers: Sogard: 243/311/323/634 Villar: 256/324/395/719 And given Villar's age (27), its more likely he is going to be at the higher end of his range than Sogard (32). I get the feeling that Counsell is trying to see too much of himself in Sogard...
  14. Nice to see Nottingham get down and block those splitters in the dirt. There have been a couple already today.
  15. I disagree that they kept him in short ball too long. They kept moving him to A ball and he looked terrible. They eventually moved them back after a pretty long stint at A-ball. Keep him at A-ball this year. No one will take him in Rule 5 based one on year of good play (presuming that he continues) without any time at A+ or higher.
  16. Meh... I'm not sure if depicting your player as the greedy villian that is defeated by Robin Hood is the right image you want to convey...
  17. I had no idea he was even on the team (apparently for 5 days!) until he came in tonight. I didn't either. Nottingham was also a surprise for me during the game (hadn't been on here all day), so I thought they came up together.

  19. I'm all for Nottingham catching and filling in, but his real chance is AAA this year. I actually would like to see if Bandy is a legit backup. Not the sexy pick but he needs a shot too.
  20. [sarcasm]Dude can't catch the ball in Lambeau. Pass.[/sarcasm] Seriously, I'm not sure he is a fit. If he is cheap, but I doubt he will be. Obviously, he was cut from the cowboys for a reason.
  21. Rotten work is bad for your health!
