  1. Phillips gets the early season award for oddest batting line: 143/571/429/1.000 He is seeing the ball (571 OBP), but barely hitting it (143 AVE). But when he hits it, he really hits it hard (286 ISO)
  2. [sarcasm]And if none of them are down for more than 20 days, they don't burn any options![/sarcasm]
  3. Nice job as always Louis. Where do you see Cichy being drafted?
  4. Why not pitch your "closer" in the 9th? A close game and you don't want them to score. No reason to save him...
  5. They did more of it last year too. But "up in the zone" wasn't meant to be belt high. More like up around the letters or shoulders.
  6. Now if he can just hit a little bit... +1 Best part of BF.net is right here.
  7. runner on first, hit in front of the LF SS is always the cut to 3rd and should always be there. When I watched the play in slow mo, he looked to third, then went towards second for a throw to second or cut to home. The play at third was just too late. Maybe it was the wrong decision, but it looked like he didn't think it was going to third and took the next logical positioning.
  8. Throw to 2nd Braun, two bad plays now Arcia also was not in the right position to cut the ball off. So, three easily fixed mental errors. Cost a run. Arcia didn't have any need to cut off a throw to third... the throw was supposed to go to second. He was in position for a throw to second (or relay to home).
  9. Wow, back to back jacks in the bottom of the ninth with two outs??? I picked a bad day to put my daughter's IKEA wardrobe together...
  10. How do we know he guess right? [sarcasm]BTW, I had it right too![/sarcasm]
  11. SLG gives a better picture of "power". Blanco's 7 HR was in 233 ABs. McGehee's 23 HRs was in 610 ABs. SLG equalizes the rate stats to compare better. Neither had much frankly.
  12. 256/310/378/688 career; 292/360/502/863 peak 258/317/384/701 career; 301/360/499/859 peak Can you tell which is which? I'm not lauding the signing, but he is hilariously close to McGehee's numbers.
  13. Uh... you realize that Blanco and McGehee are practically twins at the plate, right? Late bloomers that had a couple good years and the same age to boot.
  14. So because he was good at his job at one time he should be given slack because he's bad now? I guess we might as well bring back Lohse and Wolf to round out our rotation. That would be the equivalent of Bob going crazy and talking about crayons the whole game... actually that still would be better.
  15. There is a cheese wedge on the top of Lawrie's Twitter page. *Groan*. I wasn't a fan when I saw him play in Appleton before we traded him. Some things just aren't worth it.
  16. The brewer's twitter page has the call up. They edited the first part out and just play ueck's home run call. The edited silence before is very awkward. Part of my childhood is dying. I remember a couple years ago he was having medical issues and was similarly bad. Hopefully this is just a temporary thing and he can retire with grace. I'd hate to see him spiral downward and be removed...
  17. Great hit by Braun, but I have to wonder what the opposing coach was thinking. His closer pitched two innings yesterday, was clearly gassed and was a lefty pitching to Braun. I think the quote goes: You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - the most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia" - but only slightly less well-known is this: "Never pitch a lefty to Ryan Braun when the game is on the line!"
  18. How can posters report posts/posters? Sounds like a much more constructive response than the airing of grievances in the threads. Thanks mods The exclamation point at the top right hand of a post. Mods can't read every post everywhere, but we do followup. Please be smart about it though. We don't need every post reported.
  19. Bedtime comments are uncalled for. Ignore people if you must (select the name and mark as "foe"). Also please note that you can report someone and move on. A mod will review it.
  20. I didn't, but wished I had. I'm optimistic that we will have many opportunities to see it again!
