  1. Working for me also. Thanks!
  2. Ersan Ilyasova with 29pts and 25 rebounds. WOW. Too bad his consistency isn't there. He has always been an up and down player...
  3. I had an error getting to the LL.net forum this morning. I can get to the main page, but when I try the forum, I get this: General Error Template path could not be found: styles/bf_default/template Please notify the board administrator or webmaster: forum.brewerfan.net
  4. I don't generally find the topics on the MLB/Transaction side all that stimulating. not even the witty repartee? Actually, I generally come to the Minor League thread first myself. This site has been extremely rare due the amazing efforts that the moderators put into the content of the site. And unfortunately, a few have not been able to continue that effort (not a complaint). I know on my part, I've tried to pick up some of that (User Driven P50 and MiLB Player of the Month) and I noticed others (like TLB on the Link report) have as well. I'm sure it won't be exactly the same, but more of this simply falls on us for the content.
  5. As ST is nearing, I began to wonder: What foot will Mat Gamel put forward this year? So, when do you think Gamel will report to ST this year? Will he be: - helping them unload the truck? (i.e. report with pitchers and catchers) - Not right away, but still earlier than position players are supposed to report - Right on time - Late
  6. I'm not sure Duke coming out of a woeful system in Pittsburgh or Hendrickson when we've developed exactly 2 starting pitchers who panned out as top of the rotation starters in forever are exactly the same idea that igor7 was working on. Sorry, I jumped into the wrong conversation. I was still in the mode of how accurately scouts are able to rank the top X prospects. Then I see (granted, a list of pitchers only) those three and it just struck me as a reason not to buy in too much to the "Top X" lists.
  7. I have 5Mbs, and that frequently isn't enough to do Netflix in HD. Yeah, I need to retract my prior statement. My Netflix App on TIVO shows a "picture quality" bar. I normally get one step down from the max and its plenty good for normal TV watching (not the greatest for epic movies or IMAX). But my mistake was thinking that when the bar was maxed out it was HD. Its just max SD. They add a little "HD" symbol" when you get that.
  8. Yeah, there are a couple of annoyances with the new forum, but far more improvements are evident!
  9. Good ole' Jose Capellan. Then Zach Duke at #2 and Ben Hendrickson at #5.
  10. I keep finding myself writing contrary posts to you the past few days gregmag, if its not you, then its someone else... someone has to do it.
  11. Seriously? Retire the number of the owner's favorite baseball player? Find another way to honor the man. Retiring numbers should be reserved for players.
  12. Welcome umphrey to BF.net's annual "Managers are dumb for using the closer in the 9th only" discussion. I'll summarize prior discussions: Against: Your best reliever should be used in high leverage situations. That isn't always the 9th inning. Sometimes its bases loaded with 2 outs in the 7th inning. Pro: Players play better when they have a fixed role. That way they are prepared in the 9th inning to come in a pitch. Its one thing to have Ax and KROD as your obvious best relievers is one thing. But down around Veras and Loe, its not so obvious. So better to work based on match-ups rather than just slot someone in. And having Ax and KROD should afford a manager to be more flexible. If you are in a jam in the 6th or 7th and it looks like the bottom of the order is coming up in the 8th, why not bring up one of your better relievers to get you out of the jam?
  13. Nostradamus predicted that "the strong man-beer maker will rest 50 days from his labor". I predict this thread will go at least 64 pages (while viewing 20 posts per page). Reporters make all kinds of predictions. When they are right, they can crow about it. When wrong, they blame the mysterious "source". Its their job to draw in readers. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them have quotas for web page hits (the web version of ratings). I mean, has anyone ever gone back to see how accurate Mel Kiper is really?
  14. Score card: 2011 1 19 Tobias Harris - Too soon to evaluate 2011 2 41 Jon Leuer - Too soon to evaluate 2010 1 15 Larry Sanders - F so far. Still hope, but has contributed less then Leuer 2010 2 37 Darington Hobson - F Maybe an injury casualty, but... 2010 2 47 Tiny Gallon - F- 2009 1 10 Brandon Jennings - A: was a good pick when people said we over-drafted him. 2009 2 41 Jodie Meeks - B - Might have said an A if we kept him... 2008 1 8 Joe Alexander - F-- 2008 2 37 Luc Richard Mbah a Moute - A for a 2nd rounder 2007 1 6 Yi Jianlian - F 2007 2 56 Ramon Sessions - B 2006 2 39 David Noel - F 2005 1 1 Andrew Bogut - Lucky (hey if Rose was lucky) 2005 2 36 Ersan İlyasova - A Maybe the Bulls aren't any better (no one said they were excellent). I surely don't follow them as closely as the Bucks. But is sure seems that they are able to draft more role players (C and B type). The Bucks have a lot of "F"s on the list... Even for Thomas, they got a 1st round in a trade for him.
  15. Last year, I did flowers and dipped strawberries from http://www.berries.com/ Scored huge on both the selection and the surprise factor (normally we do simple gifts instead). I wouldn't order them often, but they were excellent... Look for a coupon on the web, they have lots of special offers. This year, its a cute snuggling puppies card and a bag of mini Reese's peanut butter cups.
  16. Is the fact that I am doing this wireless this problem? Best I could give you is maybe. I'm not familiar with Roku, but I have a few streaming devices that I use. I tend to prefer them to be hardwired as you tend to have less interference from outside sources. But here are some ideas that might be part of it: 1) What wireless router do you have? Some older ones won't have a very high connection. I would recommend an "N" or "N+", but "G" should be fine also. It should be able to match your internet connection at least. But a wired connection is more consistent if you can do it. 2) What is your internet connection speed? I can't always stream HD content at 3Mbs speed (as I only "get" 2.1Mbs out). Also, if anyone else is using a computer or other internet device, that may steal from your bandwidth. 3) Amount of data streaming may vary. Your wife's movies maybe at SD, while the games you are watching might be in HD. Movie viewers (Netflix) also tend to throttle back the quality to match your speed. Last time I watched sports, it didn't do the same. You will want a 4-5Mbs connection to watch HD safely (a bit of a guess, since I only have a 3Mbs connection and sometimes can watch HD). 4) The streaming source. If the NBA was giving a free preview, they might have been overloaded with customers. 5) Watching at high volume internet times may limit your bandwidth also. Most providers offer speeds "up to" the advertised speed. More users normally means less speed. Hope that helps. BTW, what does it matter if you watch a MLB game that is behind 1/2 of an inning (unless you are on BF.net at the same time). I record various sporting events (like Packer games) and wait an hour before watching. By the time I've skipped commercials and half time, I've caught up to live TV at the end of the day and saved myself an extra hour. If you don't know its 1/2 inning behind, its as live to you as if you were at the game.
  17. Will they actually have marlins in the aquarium?
  18. I think, until last year, the major problem was his control. Some scouts are probably still holding off to see it was a one year improvement.
  19. Yeah, but how many business days is that?
  20. or this: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.elibera.android.findmycar&hl=en
  21. I disagree about the NFL comp system being better. The best pick we would've gotten for losing Prince would be at the end of the 3rd round and it would've only been 1 pick instead of 2. You take things rather literal, don't you? My point about the NFL system is that take into account all FA moves, then give out compensation. Not that it has to be at the end of the 3rd round...
  22. Greedo has his gun drawn and pointed at Han through the whole conversation. Just to clarify and please correct me if I am wrong but it sounds like you are saying Han shot Greedo then Greedo shot his blaster. I knew Greedo's gun was out, but I thought when he sits down that he relaxes and doesn't point it directly at him anymore. I could be remembering it wrong... For the second part, yes, I'm saying Han shot first (quicker on the draw), but that Greedo has made his move to shoot Han first. He was just slower. Again, going off memory or maybe my expectations of what did/should have happened. Jengo Fett wasn't all that brilliant either. He barely fends off Obi-wan when Obi-wan loses his light saber. Then he decides to fight Mace Windu in close quarters? All of his weapons are distant weapons (guns mainly), while Mace had his light saber. Dude should have been running
  23. There was a lot more incentive to do this type of thing in the old CBA, since you could give someone a shot to regain their form, then get draft pick compensation in return. Not that it was the only reason to sign a guy like that, but now there is one less reason to do so.
  24. how much my blood boils to see Hayden Christensen at the end of Return of the Jedi. Having recently purchased the BlueRay set of videos, I sat down with my kids to watch this one (started with IV and V before on DVD). I pretty much said the same thing to my wife at the end. I suppose it was to indicate that since he was disfigured by the dark side of the force it was to "undo" the damage. But still, it was pretty silly. As for Han Solo and Greedo, there are two distinct audible shots in the clip. I always thought it was Greedo that drew his gun first, but Han was quicker on the draw. So when Greedo was shot, he instinctively fired before he had the gun fully aimed (explaining the easy miss). Basically an old west gun fight set in the future...
  25. Bravo. You pointed out a few players the Bucks drafted well and a few the Bulls drafted poorly. Why so binary? I said the Bulls have done better, not perfection. Rose sure is the shining star, but we also have a #1 pick on our team. Without looking, it would seem that even the players the Bulls miss on tend to be a serviceable bench NBA player. The ones we have been missing on are playing in a YMCA league somewhere...
