  1. We just refi'd last month at 4.875%, closing costs were $1000 or $1100, somewhere in there.
  2. Aren't Powe's knees messed up?
  3. What do you guys think about the notion that the Bucks should have made the qualifying offer to Charlie V in the hopes of working out a sign-and-trade involving him? Some people are saying the Bucks were idiotic for not making the QO because worst-case scenario is that nobody made Charlie an offer and they were stuck with him for next season at $4.6M.
  4. Nothing sells tickets like picking up a slew of expiring contracts.
  5. I guess the assistant GM said something on 540 the other day that implied it was very possible the Bucks would not resign either Sessions or Charlie V.
  6. Nolan Ryan was on with Dan Patrick this morning and Patrick said something about Padilla being released. Ryan jumped on him. "He was not released. He was waived. We want to see if there's any interest in him" blah blah blah something about sending a message that he needs to start pitching better if he wants to remain part of the team.
  7. I don't know all the background but I happened to see a play in the Red Sox game last night where the BoSox shortstop botched a throw from Pedroia and Sutcliffe said something along the lines of: "I'm going to say it one more time: JJ Hardy". Hadn't seen anything prior to that so I'm not sure what the discussion was.
  8. We're thinking of redoing our deck, but aren't sure if we want to stay with wood or move to a synthetic. I've heard both good and bad things about synthetics... any experiences here?
  9. The Wall Street Journal had an article a week or two ago about "crazy baseball ideas" and batting the pitcher 8th was in the list (with reference to LaRussa and no mention of Yost's experiment last season). I believe the figure cited in that article was two runs a season (far less than the 30-40 Yost was expecting for the Brewers)
  10. I believe Kim is going to be around through the end of the season. Maybe it will turn out that Nina never really died either.
  11. I live in Eagle and we were limited to dial-up our first year or so there, then switched to Sprint wireless... MUCH faster than dial-up. I think the phone company has finally made DSL available in our area (been getting flyers about high-speed internet from them) but I haven't looked into it yet because I have been generally happy with the wireless service.
  12. I have DISH network and they don't even pick up Channel 58's HD signal for some reason (get Ch. 4,6,12 HD with no problem)
  13. The clip of Bango's injury is pretty funny. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/39800862.html
  14. It's from here: http://www.oregonlive.com..._the_nba_and_blazers.html
  15. My father was listening to Bill "Big Unit" Michaels (ugh) one night last week and apparently Michaels said that the Brewers don't feel that Sheets doesn't keep himself in very good shape and that is one of the main reasons they are not making overtures to bring him back. He hinted that one of Sheets' injuries this year was the result of rock climbing or some such thing. Take it for what it's worth. Meanwhile, Rosenthal thinks the Yankees should pursue Sheets and speculates that Sheets + Cruz would cost around $10M http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/9112648/Don't-be-foolish,-the-Yankees-aren't-done-yet?MSNHPHMA
  16. I think one reason Cubs fans may be freaking out over this is that the Cub organization has a poor record for "accuracy" in what it chooses to reveal regarding injuries (see: Mark Prior and Kerry Wood).
  17. A lot of the Cubs fans I know are still thinking that Peavy will end up with the Cubs once the sale goes through and Hendry gets permission to increase the club's 2010 budget to add him.
  18. That seems to work pretty well. I got something similar on my computer last weekend, spent hours trying to run a System Restore with no luck. Malwarebytes' stuff got my computer functioning again. I'm not entirely convinced that my system is "clean"; there's a site called bleepingcomputer.com run by volunteers that will help with such problems but they are a bit backlogged, I posted my info on Sunday evening and have not received a reply yet. As of yesterday it looked like they were still responding to people who logged their problems before Christmas.
  19. Austin Croshere released this morning, putting roster one below the limit. Trade in the works?
  20. Gagne actually turned down a two-year, $16M deal to sign the 1-year, $10M deal.
  21. Hardicourt did mention couple weeks ago that the Brewers had been looking at Kotsay as a possible replacement for Cameron, for what its worth.

  24. Hardicourt did mention couple weeks ago that the Brewers had been looking at Kotsay as a possible replacement for Cameron, for what its worth.
  25. Haudricourt is on the "D-List" right now (540 AM) and just hinted that the Brewers are close to signing a left-handed option in the outfield that might be announced in the next few days. Implication being that Kapler will probably not be back.
