First four Zona Crew batters all out via K. In fact of the first 7 outs in this game for both sides, 6 are via K.

What a start for him. Wonder how many innings he will go?? And in Chattanooga, it’s a bases loaded scenario and Spain hits into a 1-2-3 GIDP to end the threat. That just stings.

Dinges bomb and TRats up 9–0 now. His 3rd HR in 17 A+ games. Yessir.

Yes. Losing Alstre and then Dinges to promotions. Adamczewski injured. Missed time by Peña and Made. And big slumps by Bitonti and Payne along with a regression by DiTuri and that offense is so much less potent and dominant.

Mudcats can't rally back. After a single by Rodriguez, it is grounder, K, and fly out. Made and Payne both with 3K tonight. Not great

Ugh. A 5-0 lead has evaporated and is now turning ugly as a WP makes it 8-5 Chattanooga. Wow what a promising first couple of innings that just turned south for Biloxi. T-Rats still in command for now. Carolina can't get the offense going and down 5-1 in the top of the ninth. Will need an early season, relentless Mudcats rally here.

Not sure I've seen that before, but Petersen (who is in for Wich in the 5th against Chattanooga) has given up double, single, single and sac bunt on 4 pitches. Each batter swung (double, single) or bunted (single, sac) on the first pitch. Pretty unusual.

That line up is so diluted now, and with the major slumps of Payne and Bitonti, it is asking too much to just have Made and Pena be the only offense. Will look better if/when Adamczewski returns and if some of the other younger players (Lameda, Anderson among others) can get going offensively. But that early season Payne-Pena-Made-Adamczewski-Dinges-Bitonti-DiTuri-Alastre line up was pretty fierce.

He has gotten the job done, but in a very Birch kind of way - 5K, 3BB, and only 2hits, and its 63 pitches to get through 3 IP. 😳

And Wichrowski has given up the lead... 5 runs allowed in the inning. Clearly he does not have it. He is such a frustrating prospect, as he can seriously dazzle at times, but just not able to do it consistently. Birchard and Wich are both interesting prospects who could really be prospects but that consistency has really held them both back.

Shuckers offense coming back to life. Warren with a HR. 4-0 Biloxi. Alrighty then! And Birchard Ks two and it’s a 3-0 lead after 1 in Great Lakes Mudcats - man they are no longer relentless without Dinges, and the injured Adamczewski, seeing the struggles of Bitonti (except for the weekend before last) and Payne both really having a rough go at the plate.

I know. I got you. I conceded that most don’t agree, but I can still feel we didn’t get the maximum value for those trades, it’s really my opinion and I may be wrong or right, but that’s the point we get to express what we think which is why I like the forum here. Either way we did dodge a bullet as signing Burnes long term and losing 1+ seasons of production would have crippled the team given the limits on spending.

The team may have dodged bullets with Burnes and Williams. The returns on both trades have been middling to poor (Blake Burke may be the best). At least paying premium for 1-1.5 missing seasons if Burnes and who knows what will happen with his is-he-or-isnt’t-he season. still. I will keep harping on the trade returns which I am not a fan of (understood that others disagree). But the volatile season of Williams and the likely lost ‘25-‘26 for Burnes are cautionary tales.

Adams continues to be sneaky good. Unorthodox and the test was could he hit AA or better or was his success just due to his elite eye and patience at the plate. He may not wow with his stats (although they are good) but he is a really good player in my eyes. And the “old school” (yes I’m an old guy) view is his teams are successful and he looks like a leader on the field and in the clubhouse. Those are important intangibles that are never captured with modern data analytics, and while stat data is a very valuable predictor, these intangibles are maybe why we can’t separate the Lewis Brinsons from Sal Frelicks sometimes. ‘Anyway his stats are good but Luke seems to have some other intangible qualities that could lead to success.

Getting caught up with the overnight action. Man this was Hardin’s first time getting hit and struggling. Ok. Let’s see how he reacts. Blake Burke still hitting. Biloxi - Adams is still hitting, and Pratt has gotten some hits the past few games. Wilken is in some kind of slump- since May 23, only 4 hits (2 HR) but 17 K!!! The struggle is real. The question with him will be if his hot streaks are just that or something more sustainable. Still good to see the young arms with solid performances in the complex.

Man. Wow. Dubanewicz looks like he just fools those hitters and his stuff moves, but obviously he has some command otherwise his walk rate would be crazy high. He looks the part. Hopefully he and the others (Dorchies, Renz and Tobias along with Mercedes) progress well the next few years.

Reading it early morning on my vacation. 😀 But yes so excited for this outing - so excited for young Mr Cornielle. Sweet pitching performances among all the stateside affiliates. Huge bummer on Woodruff, hoping for the best for him. But otherwise Cornielle, Smith/Johnson, Dubanewicz. Lots to catch up on.

Re: SI joint pain. Exactly as that article describes - the SI joint is really where your torso meets you lower body. Often times SI pain can be called "sciatic pain" and there is some overlap. PT and rest can be the most helpful, as long as other things are being ruled out (like insufficiency fractures, or other injury to bone/muscles, and disk injury to the lower back). So hopefully Adamczewski can get some rest, PT and get back to swinging soon. Good luck Josh. -

@Terry that’s great info on Crow. 2 questions- first do you have this data on Hunt as well? And second, how do they compare to other top Southern League pitchers?
