  1. Second batter of the night, Quero, doubles. No no-hitter tonight.
  2. Of all the names here, most are "sell low" currently, which is not the best way to manage assets. Now some may need a change of scenario type of move (Black, Rodriguez) as they are lower prospect value now then they had any time point, but are also blocked (Black hasn't hit his way onto the scene, is limited to LF and maybe 1B and there are a plethora of people who can handle those positions as that is where the least defensively able usually go), and Rodriguez has multiple starters in front and behind him, and his versatility and young age may attract someone. Sell high guys are tough, since you hope they are not at the peak and want to keep, but also most prospects don't succeed. So Wilken (obviously the injury will hamper any trade talk) and Crow (minor injury right now I hope) are the types you want to keep as guys with 30 HR minor league power are valuable, and Crow has a plus pitch and is heading to AAA. But those are the best "chips" amongst this group. And I would trade only for a great package (ie another younger controllable MLB ready player) Burke is healthy, is in a stacked field (lots of possible 1B/DH types) who has hit but not shown the power. Was a 1st rounder, so could be a very tradable asset, much like Matt LaPorta (Burke is a better overall hitter from a contact approach and a better fielder), but he could be moved in a big trade. But also could be the future Brewer 1st baseman for the next 6-8 years. Quintana is too young and raw, but is turning things around. He would be like a Jhonny Severino trade asset, may not get you a lot (2 months of Carlos Santana) and occasionally these turn into Freddy Peralta all star lottery tickets but most don't. I doubt he gets moved unless another team (one who may have been scouting him as a IFA) really wants him as the return on a trade.
  3. Loads the bases with a HBP. Umps eject Guilarte for saying something after the mound visit. Then strike 1, and then the game ending GIDP with the newly inserted Alastre to Areinamo to Burke and that’s game. Yerlin effectively wild.
  4. Yerlin. He has such raw talent and can dazzle. But when he knows where it’s going. So many pitches can be just lost - wild pitch, or way away from the talent. But when he can find the zone he has mid to high 90s velocity and a solid breaking pitch. He can be a solid reliever, but his command. And Guilarte ejected in the 9th for no known reason???
  5. Over- officially no hit. Yikes. But 3 runs scored. Baseball. T-Rats got some more hits but no more after Perez Grand Slam. 7-1 heading to top of 9th.
  6. Soooo. Still a no hitter but Sounds won’t be shut out. Wow. HBP and walks and fielders choice and error. And Sounds have 3 runs on you guessed it no hits!
  7. Man it’s Hedbert’s world today and we are just living in it Grand Slam breaks it wide open 7-1
  8. After a triple by Nicasia, Hedbert gets a hit through the drawn in infield. Areinamo walks, and Dinges goes down 0-2 and gets a flair to shallow left and it's 3-1, Areinamo thrown out trying to go to third, but nice hustle by Hedbert to score. Let's go T-Rats!
  9. Not entirely. The 2024 class was special, and the two teams hit well (both team OPS >.750 I think, or at least both in the .700s). Most years there is one team that hits well and another not so well, but they have had down years and still produce prospects. Other years had some players rise up, yet not all had great first year stats (Chourio's initial start to his DSL season was poor at first). Two years ago there was Yophery, and he was special in DSL and the A league. So there may be a top signing player or an under the radar guy who may emerge, or maybe two. Having 2-4 players who would make the DSL to Low A jump is pretty rare I would think. So not too concerned about the 2025 class, but some of the 2024 signing holdovers playing in DSL in 2025 are a bit concerning (LaFond, Martinez among others) in their offensive regression, which just speak to how good Pena, Made, Anderson etc were. Pitching is also very hard to gauge from the DSL stats in my opinion.
  10. Shuckers win again. Not a lot of runs, but did get some hits. And pitching looked great based on stats. Wichrowski went effective and efficient 6 IP with 2H, 1BB, 6K and 0 runs on 72 pitches. Then Fitzpatrick, Peek and Bowman look good getting the last 9 out. Only a walk by Peek, but they all looked good. Biloxi continues to do well despite massive injury hits the past 2 weeks. Nashville gettin no-hit. No.
  11. Could be the academy is better for the integration part, but there is also a possibility that it relates to the limit on the number of players in the organization -- and those in the US count, correct? (as opposed to those in the DSL who don't count toward that cap/limit) Is there anyone here in the know, or willing to take a stab at where the Brewers are with the number of players in the organization vs the limit?
  12. Breaking ball - very good pitch right into the zone and it’s called strike 3. Herbert down looking, game over. Had tying run in scoring position couldn’t ask for more. Burke productive out, but Baez and Perez out with Ks. So close. Ok. ACL game moving along still 7-5. I will read about it in the morning.
  13. Baez swings right through a 95 mph heater at the top of the zone. Herbert is our last hope. Down 0-2 count.
  14. Burke taps it just in front of home and it’s a 1-3 put out. Runners advance. Baez up. Burke was totally fooled on tow off speed and then held off on the third consecutive off speed pitch. Gets contact to avoid the K. And advances the runners. Baez - he can be hero, but can be goat as he can be pretty wild.
  15. Areinamo flares one to short right. Ok First runner on Alright! Dinges shoots one up the middle. Two on. Almost doubling the offensive output in two batters here. Burke up - let’s go Blake!
  16. And we are on to the bottom of the 9th in Wisconsin and down 2-0. Rally time boys!!!
  17. ACL Crew offense turns it up. Renz with an atypical 4 inning outing, 4 runs (3ER) on 3 hits and 2 BB and a WP. So on,y 6 base runners (1 via an error) but 4 score. The Brew Crew score 4 in the first but get another 3 runs in the 4th/5th. Now up 7-5. Espinal in trying to hold the lead.
  18. Wow Melvin Hernandez with two stellar outings in a row. 7 IP! 4K, 0 BB. Mudcats with 13 hits in offense and all starters getting hits except Anderson (but only 1K for him so that’s still growth right?) Shuckers bats go pretty quiet. 6 hits for the night total. Only 3 Shuckers reach base twice (Murray 2 walks, Spain 2 hits and Pratt walk+hit). Cornielle delivers what looks like a night that encapsulates his season, 5 IP but 86 pitches to get there, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3K, so a good night but not excellent nor was it bad. Very Alexander Cornielle, which is not a knock, he is what he is and I still see a very reliable pitcher and the most likely DSL pitcher to contribute to the MLB in the near future. Sounds win again. Zimmerman with maybe one of his best starts as a Sound, and the offense mostly driven by Dunn, Dalbec and Vaughn who all HR’d. TRats are really quiet offensively - only 3 hits thru 8. Down 2-0 so the pitching was good, but just 3 measly hits, no XBH and 3 walks to 9 K. Yikes. Trying to keep it 2-0 in the 9th and hope for some offensive awakening in the 9th maybe please? It will be Areinamo, Dinges and Burke up if Langhorne can help, keep it 2–0.
  19. Kind of expected news on Wilken. Real bummer. Can he go to the AFL this fall again? Or would he want to?? Given the speculation on promotion, I would imagine he is AAA bound next season? This changes his timeline for darkhorse MLB promotion end of this year and likely early call up next, to a mid-season to 2027 MLB debut I would guess given that he will have a lot of timing to work out again, and needs to prove he can avoid really random injuries (I will not call him injury prone as the eye injury and this injury are very random, unrelated and fluke)
  20. Every time I hear them talk about Childers dad and uncle, it makes me feel old as I remember when they were prospects in the system ... oh .... checks notes ... a few years ago ... like late 90s and early 00s. Or just before or around the time I found the first iteration of this website/forum.
  21. Yikes that went from close game (1-0) to oh no (5-0) back to close game (5-3) to yikes (10-3). I will go out on a limb and say that Aldrin’s next outing will go better.
  22. ACL Crew still hitless in Phoenix Aldrin Gonzalez stateside debut did not go as well as he would have hoped. Gives up 4 runs. ‘But hey Jadyn Fielder says “hitless no more” with a single
  23. Restituyo has an eventful trip to the LF corner but makes the catch. Childers does his job! 12 pitches, 10 strikes for save #7. woo hoo
