  1. 44K 7 hits 0 runs 27 innings against the Red hot offense.
  2. Do you mean his 91 professional innings in 2022 as his career high? Because I totally agree on that. They’re gonna have to skip some of his starts to keep him under 130 IP.
  3. We could get a bat at any or all of DH, 1B, and 2B. There’s so much room for improvement.
  4. Just two hits. That was a clinic.
  5. I didn’t expect to see that the Reds would get shut out in back to back games at any time after June 6. I’ll take it.
  6. Anybody have news on Gasser? 1 pitch 1 HBP, then out of the game.
  7. Almost all of it comes down to those regulars regressing upward toward their means. As far as moves are concerned... Frelick for Weimer - gain that extra year of control on Weimer. Let Owen Miller play first base more often. Let Caratini catch more and have Contreras DH more Otherwise, trade deadline.
  8. Add to that the possibility of a "promotion" to closer. If he shows that he's happy to have a chance at closer, that could make him appear selfish and unfriendly.
  9. Hader got bit by the home run bug in SF. Rogers has given up far fewer home runs. They're switching stadium profiles in terms of homer-friendliness. I think Rogers will be somewhere in the 90%-as-good-as-Hader-range, with a 30% chance of being better than Hader. I think there's a strong liklihood (>90%) that the new bullpen outperforms the old bullpen.
  10. Former Brewer minor leaguer Korry Howell is currently rocketing up the SDP organizational rankings.
  11. It's going to leave us all wondering what the standalone return for Soto or the standalone return for Bell would have been. Wood for Bell seems like too much. Susana for Bell seems like too little.
  12. I wonder if the specter of a Soto trade is holding up Bell action… especially if the Nats are seeking high minors guys. if the Padres were leading with Campusano for Soto, the Nats might not be bullish on a Bell deal that led with someone like Feliciano or Quero.
  13. I wonder if the specter of a Soto trade is holding up Bell action… especially if the Nats are seeking high minors guys. if the Padres were leading with Campusano for Soto, the Nats might not be bullish on a Bell deal that led with someone like Feliciano or Quero.
  14. The only reason I’m not 100% in agreement is because of the number of guys on the 60 day DL who will be ready for the 40 man right after the deadline. (Topa, Cousins, Freddy). hopefully Stearns finds a way to get a hot hitter to the show.
  15. Three prospects in the high teens (org ranking) or lower seems less valuable than I had imagined for Benintendi. I hope that is the going rate for bats. If so, we could get a few without spending from our top 10. Or am I dead wrong, and grossly undervaluing these three ex-Yankee kids?
  16. I think you are right in that if Soto is traded this week, the return will be less than what people imagine. That being said, I think it will be more than the equivalent of Small, Frelick, Chohurio, Kelly, +
  17. Now that it's trade deadline week, here's how I view this specific trade rumor function. I'm going to check MLBTR a few times a day because I am interested in league-wide news. If it's Brewer-related, I'm going to come back here to discuss it. So, becuase I regularly use MLBTR, I'm relatively indifferent toward this feature. The Draft Tracker is a "Heck Yes." This trade rumor page is a "OK, neat."
  18. I wonder if TV ratings take into account that I fall asleep during games that go too late.
  19. This times 1,000,000. How can you grow the fanbase for the game if kids can only watch the end of the game twice a week in the summer and once a week during the school year?
  20. I've been thinking a lot about this. I like the BTV site, but I think it is going to get harder and harder to pin down value for players. And for someone looking for trade comps, going back more than a year or two is probably about the extent of reasonable comps. Why? - the ascendency of Trackman, Statcast, and other analytical devices has allowed teams to think way differently about player value - because of the above, valued skill sets seem to change more quickly than ever - baseball salaries have been increasing steeply - A hot prospect or two (Vidal Brujan, Wander Franco) being blocked by an otherwise valuable player (Willy Adames) is a hard-to-predict intangible
  21. With that uncertainty "resolved," I kind of expect the trades to start flying.
