  1. Dina having Garrett's baby only occurred to me at the end of last season for some reason. The timing between their relationship and her pregnancy don't quite add up, but it's TV and that hasn't stopped them before. It would be quite fitting for Glenn and his hard luck character and he and his wife would probably raise the kid as their own anyway. The whole pregnancy storyline doesn't seem to have much of a payoff unless there's a twist at the end and that would certainly be a twist with having a little bit of logic to it. To me, the commercials and the little bit of the pilot I watched when they released it for I Feel Bad look horrible. No interest in watching that show. I barely have enough to time to keep up with the shows I watch, I can't keep adding new ones. The first three episodes of South Park this season were so bad I thought the whole #CancelSouthPark marketing campaign was Matt and Trey literally sabotaging their own show because they didn't want to do it anymore. Tergrity Farms changed that. Great episode. Well, any Randy episode is great.
  2. New TV season a couple weeks in. Started watching Single Parents, as I'm a fan of Taran Killem. Ok show, I'll stick with it. Superstore has really upped their Office feel this season. Even down to the Amy/Jonah relationship mirroring Jim/Pam in lots of ways. Am I the only one thinking it will turn out to be Garrett's baby that Dina has?
  3. I posted this in today's in-game thread but it looks like he swings down on the ball. But he squares it up and hits the holes and gaps. Reminds me of prime Ichiro. I doubt he's ever a consistent 20+ HR guy with that swing. But there's nothing wrong with batting .300 with a mid .800's OPS.
  4. Disappointing. Better than most of the crap on TV. Although I had no interest in the Ronnie/British guy love story that it was clearly leading to from the first episode.
  5. No way would the Brewers have simply switched Hiura out for Diaz. Their value is no where close to the same.
  6. Finally got around to the Brooklyn 99 season finale. I guess it's going to NBC so there will be more episodes but the finale would have been a perfect way to end the series aside from the Captain Holt storyline. I get why they brought Fred Arminsen in, since I'm pretty sure his character was in the first scene of the series but I was expecting Jack Black to be the musician they found since Kyle Glass was in the episode too.
  7. How can you possibly know this? Seriously? Forte had said during the season they were only doing one more season and they already had the ending planned out. This group of masked people was obviously leading to however it is going to end. Ya, I suppose they could have stretched the storyline out for a full 20 or so episodes but unless they filled it with flashbacks and/or side story episodes I just don't see how they could make a watchable season. But I guess that has basically been the MO of the show. So many episodes are just filler and wheel spinning that don't go anywhere. I really want to find out what's going to happen to the gang and I'd rather get 10 solid episodes that push the story forward than 20 mediocre episodes with irrelevant crap.
  8. Mad as hell about Brooklyn 99 being cancelled. I'm a few episodes behind but with Jake and Amy's wedding ending the season (I assume) I guess the series will have reached a logical conclusion. Last Man on Earth was reaching it's end and there's no way they could put together a full season's worth of episodes to end it. It needs like 6-8 more to get a proper finish.
  9. How many times have you watched season 4? Everyone that I've spoken to who's seen it (myself included) didn't really like it the first time they watched it. After second and more viewings it gets much better. It's tough to put everything together the first time through. Once you've seen the whole thing through and watch it again the jokes and story make more sense. Yes, the season has been recut into a serial format and I think is already on Netflix.
  10. Interesting. I did watch the 1st season, not sure how much of season 2 but then I gave up. Sounds like it's worth circling back. I can totally understand how people gave up on it. I'll just say it looks like they're leading to some sort of actual completion to the overall story, instead of just spinning their wheels in random places like most of the series.
  11. Just finished watching the latest Last Man on Earth. Overall fantastic episode and the ending left me with chills. If you're one of the many people who enjoyed it at the beginning and dropped out after a couple seasons (I don't blame you), you may want to give the end of this season and next a shot. I've read that next season is the last and it seems like they've got something to build on for a change.
  12. Agreed. While it wasn’t like their first, it stands alone. Very, very funny. Happy for those guys to follow up what they did the first time around as they seem like quality guys. A friend saw it today and said it was terrible. I'll see when I get around to watching it in 4 or 5 years.
  13. I'll toot the horn for The Detour. Just got around to watching the season 3 finale. Great episode and finally sorted out the two different timelines that my brain hadn't been able to figure out for 3 years. I guess they haven't been given a 4th season yet and it would be a shame if they don't get one. Quite frankly, it's the best comedy writing I've seen since Arrested Development.
  14. My son enjoys Odd Squad on PBS. If you're forced to watch children's programming this is pretty good. Straight up Canadian humour with lots of adult orientated jokes and references. Plus an episode guest starring 3/5 of the Kids in the Hall.
  15. I don't watch a lot of TV and what I do I can only catch up on when the kid is napping so I'm usually pretty far behind on my shows. Brooklyn Nine-Nine Great show that FOX is doing everything to destroy by randomly giving it multi-month breaks for no reason. When it first started I didn't think it would make a second season but has turned out pretty solid. Last Man on Earth Pretty much everyone who started watching this show has come to hate it, but still watches it. It's so up and down and you never really know what to expect from an episode. It's supposed to be a comedy but there are some episodes with zero comedy and the humor is all over the place from super low brow to intellectual to meta. I can see why people start to hate it because you can't peg the show in any category. Some episodes are slapstick comedy, some are full on depressing drama, some are uplifting human stories, it just covers everything. The Mick Stupid comedy you don't have to think about. LA to Vegas Finally got around to watching it. Pretty solid. Captain Dave is becoming one of my favorite characters of all time. The Detour Really underrated show. Great writing, great characters. Season 2 wasn't great but season 3 stepped it back up. And how can you ignore such great guest starts as Todd Palin and Bret "The Hitman" Hart? Superstore When it debuted, NBC was trying to push it as the new Office. It certainly isn't that but it does sort of have that feel.
  16. This is exactly why I never understand why people freak out when the market drops. What percent of people rely on the day to day fluctuations of the market? .5%, maybe? I guess the media needs to whip people into a frenzy about something for ratings and clicks.
  17. The coins in my coffee can were not effected by the stock market. That's been a pretty stable investment so far for me.
  18. Good point I mean if he's a 4WAR+ projection for 5years, how are you not giving that? But, then again, do QOs even exist in 5years? There will have to be some sort of free agent loss compensation. No way the owners give that up.
  19. Can we assume that we give Yelich a QO when his contact is up (if he's not traded before that)? In essence we did get a prospect from Florida, we just don't know who it is.
  20. The MLBTradeRumors comment section used to be "good" for a an internet comment section but has really turned to crap the last couple years especially on posts regarding the big market teams. I skimmed the Yelich trade comments and it's 99% Cubs fans/trolls talking crap about how bad the Brewers are and will be.
  21. Brinson obviously is well regarded by everyone and Diaz has done things that make a decent prospect but you have to give to get. Harrison has future bust written all over him and I've only seen Yamamoto mentioned as anything by a few posters here, so neither is a loss to me. Seems like a fair trade to me.
  22. I've got a contact on LinkedIn who's always sharing posts by HR and Recruiter people talking about do's and dont's of finding a job and interviews. Basically the original poster will say "doing this will increase your chances of getting the job" and then half of the comments will be people saying "that's a great idea, that would really make a candidate stand out to me" and the other half saying "I would never hire a candidate who did that". It's such a crap game where you never know the rules and those rules change with every person you deal with.
  23. I have an interview this week at a place I've interviewed 3 times prior for 3 different jobs over the past 5 years. The position I'm interviewing for I actually interviewed for and got a few years ago. Even after the position ended they've asked me back a couple times to work when the person who has the position was out for a while. Now, I'm not expecting them to just give me the job but what exactly do they expect to learn from an interview? Based on who I've spoken with over the phone, the HR people are different, but I'm also interviewing with the department I worked in and it's the same people I've worked with multiple times before.
  24. A great idea with subpar execution. Don't get me wrong, I really liked it but it could have been so much better.
  25. I've had them for almost 20 years and I've looked at them twice - when I got them and just now when I found them cleaning. I really don't have any interest in keeping them and since my wife and I moved in together I've been trying to get rid of as much of my needless stuff as I can. I guess if they are totally worthless I might make some sort of display but right now it's just clutter.
