  1. He does drop a lot of pitches, but is his arm that weak? Not at all. Half his throws to second base nearly wind up in centerfield. Another 10% do. My statement was probably skewed in that I can’t recall him throwing anyone out, yet Pina regularly does. But the drops are pretty ridiculous. The first week of the season he cost his pitchers several strikes. Today He has dropped two strokes that weren’t tipped.
  2. Seeing Grandal’s weak arm and consisting dropping of pitches, it makes me really glad he has nice offensive skills.
  3. His exit velocity is only slightly down from last year and he has a career high launch angle. Let’s give Braun more than on month.
  4. I can’t remember, did we trade Gagnon? He was a pretty high pick—3rd or 4th round, right?
  5. File is making a case for a breakout season.
  6. There's no indication Nelson will be ready anytime soon. His rehab assignment will begin soon. That starts the 30-day window. But there are ways of manipulating that, and also possible extensions (as with UCL reconstruction). As I've been saying, I think Nelson pitching in Sept and Oct is more important than May/June. I'd guess we see Jimmy in early June at the earliest.
  7. Glad to see CC letting Guerra stay in. Perhaps the only MLB manager that would do so.
  8. I don't understand the Hart callup. He is a LOOGY at best. He was putrid last year for the Os (31 hits and 12 runs in only 19 IPs). RH hitters hit an unbelievable .390/.457 against him. He stunk in his first callup with Milwaukee (2 hits and 4 walks in 2 IPs), and has been awful at San Antonio (8 hits in only 3.2 IPs, 7.36 ERA, 2.73 WHIP). Claudio has been getting hit hard lately, so maybe Hart is CC's only recourse for another lefty. At least Jackson is getting a shot. He's been doing well at San Antonio and is an improvement over Wilson. Let's hope he can bring some stability to the pen. If you declared Hart terrible and a waste after 2 previous innings, are you ready to give him a Cy Young after tonight?
  9. Braun missed it, then beer spilled on him. Should have been ground rule double. I would like an explanation
  10. Hart needs DFA’d and Jackson added, then brought up, which I think is imminent. With the way the pen is going, CC might as well try something new. Wilson tonight, HR, single, walk. Claudio comes in and allows another HR and three runs. Hart stinks so why not try Jackson? Can't be any worse than Wilson, Petricka (DFA'd), etc.... Pretty sure Gio gets the open spot. Why the hatred of Hart?
  11. you lost me when you said we gave up on him. That's simply not true
  12. Not at all. It sounds like the Brewers have had conversations with Burnes and all agree his LONG future is as a starter. He cannot really work on things in the majors, so the result is 2-5 games in the minors is the goal (they said 2-3). Sometimes a pro golfer needs to take a weekend off and just work on the game. That's basically what they're doing here. It's not like their angry and punishing him by yanking him from the rotation. They're giving him the best chance for success. They're not REPLACING him in the rotation, they'll be FILLING IN for him. Very careful word choice He faced the Cards twice, Cubs and Reds.... probably top 10 offenses once everything plays out. Burnes is a top pitcher for us and needs tweaking, not a bunch of moves back and forth between AAA and majors. Remember that Roy Halliday held the record for highest ERA in a season till Wily Peralta broke it. They sent him down to A-ball a talented pitcher with crappy results, and he returned a stud. Burnes can return much better than his first go round
  13. I'd love to have him. Always liked him

  15. So we don't know if he has an elbow injury, shoulder injury or a blister? Kinda hate how the Brewers seem to be so quiet about their prospects injury issues. You hear if someone goes under the knife, but short of that, we're left guessing. Ponce isn't exactly Corbin Burnes, but he could make an impact in Milwaukee if all goes right. You know, there are Federal laws about medical disclosures.
  16. Hope he's doing well and get back on the field ASAP. With the way Thames and Aguilar are, 1B is his for the taking! I like his tools, but he really hasn't been very productive in the minors yet. At this point he's a 1b prospect because our system is devoid of a 1st base prospect
  17. What is disappointing is that Arcia showed good BB skills relative to k’s. Yet in MLB he is a very free swinger. I don’t get his open stance. Normally an open stance allowed a hitter to ensure their hip is squared up at impact. However, he’s open and still flies even more open during his swing.
  18. Chase's velocity has been up, so perhaps he'll get a spot start as well.
  19. a quick google search, and its basically where the clavicle and sternum meet in the upper chest.
  20. I don't see him making a start. Maybe moving to the pen like Burnes. But we're currently 8 deep with starters. Current 5, then Anderson, then Hauser, and--sometime soon--Nelson. Not sure we'll need to go that far down the depth chart
  21. Maybe in 2021. Missing that much time, they're going to be VERY careful.
