  1. Why Reese Olson for this dud
  2. I think they are paying zero dollars for the players they have acquired thus far
  3. Could be he has to show up and sign some papers, could be someone just leaked a fake deal to drum up urgency.
  4. Would be a bullpen ace, maybe too expensive for that though
  5. The comment I am about to make is very non-analytical - but I imagine it is hard to stay motivated at a 100% level when your team is literally 40 games under .500. We could have picked apart Adames' numbers from TB this season too and that would have made us all look silly now. Adames was struggling in TB but Urias was struggling worse in addition to being a terrible defender at SS, not to mention the black hole that was 3B at the time. So it’s a completely different situation.
  6. I feel like he’s getting overrated a little bit here now. Offensively he has been worse than Wong Adames Tellez (MIL stats only) Peterson (small sample) and about equal to Urias. So while there are a ton of ways for him to get playing time, he’s not a must start. 1B is built on small samples, he’s a better defender than Urias, Wong has been injury prone, could play some OF, potential L/R matchup play, etc.
  7. Really feels like quantity over quality though, Duran may be the only one they cared about
  8. I was hoping for a bigger splash but I’ll take it. I also feel like Hummel is the next Aguilar/Cooper. But I am happy to trade him away for help in 2021.
  9. I would throw a pretty good prospect out for Bryant by the way, probably Turang. Bryant is exactly what we need, like it or not.
  10. If you take the Cubs off the list the only impact bats worth calling about and offering a top prospect for are Mancini and Gallo. Story isn’t an impact bat unless playing SS and even then it’s questionable. They could go for Donaldson but I don’t see him costing a top guy, probably a couple lower rated guys.
  11. Just my opinion but I think our MiLB pitching depth is pretty awful past Ashby/Small. So I don’t want to trade pitchers in general. We have a lot of position players though who could be traded. Either Turang headlining a bigger trade or some combination of top 20 guys for lesser trades probably to bolster bullpen. There are a few players on the market who I would give anyone for though.
  12. Kinda makes me wish we drafted McClain since I’m not in love with Frelick and it feels like we have money to burn without Riggio or Holton
  13. Nah I don’t think they care about 2021 payroll within reason with playoff baseball coming to MKE
  14. I find it kind of crazy but according to Vegas prop bet odds we are 3rd most likely to get Scherzer behind Dodgers and Mets. 1 in 4.
  15. Losing out on Riggio and Holton doesn’t bother me so much so long as they do manage to fully utilize their bonus money. I would hate to leave cash on the table.
  16. 1 Garrett Mitchell 2 Aaron Ashby 3 Ethan Small 4 Brice Turang 5 Sal Frelick 6 Jefferson Quero 7 Korry Howell 8 Hedbert Perez 9 Zavier Warren 10 Joe Gray Jr. 11 Abner Uribe 12 Reese Olson 13 Mario Feliciano 14 Tyler Black 15 David Hamilton 16 Reese Olson 17 Felix Valerio 18 Alex Binelas 19 Justin Topa 20 Freddy Zamora 21 Jackson Chourio 22 Antoine Kelly 23 Jake Cousins 24 Joey Wiemer 25 Hayden Cantrelle 26 Eduardo Garcia 27 Hendry Mendez
  17. I don’t get the Cole ranking. How much surplus value can he have a few years into that mega contract?
  18. I generally like the strategy of going at slot or slightly over slot for 1st round picks in most cases, so I’m happy about that I guess. I did not see Frelick as an above slot guy though. I feel like we haven’t had success with an under slot high pick since I’ve been paying attention.
  19. I think you have to put Urias in the trade. Which wouldn’t be great in 2 years or so when Wong and JRam are FA and we have 2 positions to fill. But it does make a JRam trade more realistic.
  20. I was hoping they would start Tellez almost daily for a week or so just to get a good look before trade deadline
  21. Ball is very similar to Lutz but in A+ versus Lutz being in AA. They are also having a very similar season. I wouldn't call Ball fairly legitimate more like a lottery ticket as his K% is rather high and I doubt it improves. Basically the Cubs got a lottery ticket who is going to be a 1B only player. If the Brewers traded Tristen Lutz for a Joc rental this board would be up in arms. Lutz is completely expendable to me, I wouldn't mind it at all
  22. At 8 games back and 4% playoff odds, the only way to have a chance is to become heavy buyers
