  1. Who knows with this one
  2. Yeah I just realized they kept Civale through the deadline. What a pointless trade for them.
  3. If the season ended today then yes I would just lock him up for the year for $6m through arby. Give him the every day job and if it fails then there seems to always be a 1B rental available in July. I think you might be able to release him and re sign him for maybe $3m to $5m but a team could definitely swoop in and try to do a 2 years $12m contract or more so why risk it.
  4. White Sox claim Pegeuro and Hudson. They are truly a 1 trick pony picking up our DFAs.
  5. I don’t even care that the MLB allows these minor IL trips. It’s a long season and 26 man rosters are small. Let them send a guy down for 10 days if he’s nicked up. As long as teams aren’t signing guys for $10m just to IL stash them all year, just let it go, let teams keep their guys healthy especially for the playoffs.
  6. I'm no conspiracy theorist but this is probably just load management. Probably a minor injury that he could pitch through if it was the playoffs but unnecessary against WAS.
  7. I can’t figure out why send Montgomery instead of just taking cash. Tax threshold thing?
  8. Pretty disappointed they couldn't get anything done today. I thought they could at least add a utility and rearrange some pitching (sell Cortes).
  9. We haven't been a last minute team lately, thinking it's done, but hope to be wrong
  10. Trading for Kwan would be a very Brewers thing to do
  11. One of the small market playbooks is to hoard prospects until you get a window, then sell them for the expensive rentals you can’t afford to sign in FA (CC Sabathia).
  12. I hope so but I don't trust most guys until about half way into year 2. Too many Hiura's out there.
  13. I can't decide if it's a good thing or a bad thing but we would have all 3 OF spots locked down for 3 years. No prospects, FAs, platoons, anything unless there was an injury.
  14. Yeah Ortiz had a bad July. I’m ready to quit on him. Probably have to move Turang to SS to make it happen though.
  15. So they used all of the budget but not the 5% overage? If I'm reading that correctly, that's pretty good. Ideally yes they would use the 5% but that's kinda like threading the needle, very difficult to do while still being aggressive.
  16. They probably wanted to keep him for SP depth. Or maybe they have him marked for trade talks and don't want to risk talking his value if he moves to BP and gets blown up once or twice.
  17. AZ prospect huggers in shambles
  18. What are they gonna do with 10 starting pitchers though. They probably should keep Freddy for '26 and QO Woody too.
  19. Yeah not using the bonus pool is a bit of a fail. Overall still a nice draft, better than 2024.
  20. Mis Priester Patrick Gasser That's 4/5th of a rotation and it assumes Peralta and Woody are both gone. Then we still have Hall, Ashby, Myers, Henderson. So I don't really mind trading a SP as long as they pick the right guy to send out the door.
  21. Tomorrow is the last day, we have budget and there are high schoolers to sign, let’s get it
  22. Report that the Reds are looking to add a middle of the order bat. Trading for Suarez would be the most Reds thing ever, I hope he goes there if not us.
  23. I'm not too attached to Boeve or Myers. Myers would be nice depth to keep next year but he's probably the odd man out of the 5 man even if we lose all our vets.
