  1. I think this is just Bauers not being 100% and also struggling and the Brewers are using MiLB depth to rest him up, simple as that
  2. Let's be real, CC left for dump trucks full of cash, nothing more, nothing less
  3. “I don’t want to sit here and hope that things are going to happen,” Hazen said. “I’m kind of done hoping. We want to see it happen. It is what it is — we’ve been waiting now for the better part of three-plus months. This is a direct quote from their GM. This is what a GM says when he’s about to sell but can’t say “we stink and I’m selling”.
  4. They pretty much said they are trading Suarez and they want young pitching in return. I think Myers isn’t great trade bait personally but it’s hard to peg his value and it’s not crazy especially if paired with a prospect. https://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/mlb/diamondbacks/2025/07/15/arizona-diamondbacks-trade-deadline-mike-hazen/85199832007/ Although really I think Suarez is probably unobtainable because the bidding is going to get nuts. The Yankees for example may beat any bid unless it’s Logan Henderson or something.
  5. That was too easy, I feel like he should have made us work a little harder for it
  6. They are probably going to sign 8 guys in the top 250. Last year they had 3, previous year 6, 2022 they had 4. That makes this draft look pretty solid I think, but they do need to sign those guys plus a few upside HS players.
  7. It's hard to peg how far under slot they are but I guarantee they will take 1 or 2 top 150 players and if they have the money they will throw $1.5m+ at them to try to get a sign. Can't guarantee they sign though. I've seen them win enough times to hope on it.
  8. Wonder which unsignable HS player we will take a crack at
  9. Just noticed Shane Smith had 4 starts in a row of giving up 5+ runs and ERA is pushing mid 4s. The Arnold truthers can breath a sigh of relief.
  10. Ragsdale looks like a 21 yo junior so not a senior sign
  11. There is the new Cooper Pratt (probably can't play SS though)
  12. Yeah hard to say. I would guess slightly under. He has options though, go back to school for whatever at Princeton or pitch a year and show he's healthy and maybe he's a 1st rounder.
  13. Going hard on pitchers this draft. I think the lower minors needed it, especially HS age guys.
  14. I don’t think they are under budget by much but I think they have enough to take at least 1 swing on a top 150ish player
  15. Age 21 should be under slot because it's very unlikely he would go back to school and try to up his stock to a 22 year old top 10 pick
  16. Nats pen is horrible. Must be their way to keep tanking with guys like Wood and Abrams.
  17. 6th in the league in Clutch stat in one of the reports I pulled (min 100 PA)
  18. I’m not quite sure what inning limits are going to do to the rotation. Mis I think 100% gets shut down before playoffs. Priester might. Henderson will. Chad Patrick maybe. Woodruff hopefully not but he could run out of gas late in the season potentially. So with all that they might really need a guy like Nasty Nester.
  19. Just noticed Janson Junk is starting today for MIA, the former Brewer is doing pretty well with his first real shot, 3.12 ERA in 43 innings.
  20. I can’t believe how much Hoskins gets trashed around here despite being kind of an average 1B with a 115 wRC+ and 1.1 WAR
  21. Just feels like a rough trade market this year. Lots of pitching, and some rentals at 1B/DH/OF. Not great for the Brewers. Suarez is really the standout, but he has his risks (may not even get traded) and has teams like the Yankees and maybe the Dodgers looking at him. The 2 biggest sellers are the White Sox and the Rockies and they just have absolutely nothing (no I don’t want to pay Ryan McMahan $30m to backup Durbin). If Hoskins was out for the year I would be in on like an O’Hearn but with Hoskins coming back we just roll with him.
  22. Yeah i don't think we need to do much of anything. Some of the best trades we've had in the past 20+ years were Yelich, Contreras, Adames and those trades, at the time, either we didn't really need that position, or the guy wasn't thought to be on the trading block. So I am hoping for a trade like that but I know the odds are very low.
