  1. Wow I thought this might happen but I thought Suarez would get traded first and McMahon would be the consolation prize for the big money team that lost out on Suarez. NYY could still be in on Suarez though with McMahon as backup but less likely now.
  2. It’s hard for me to imagine Suarez going anywhere besides NYY. Currently Josh Vivas is listed on top of their 3B depth chart, and he’s absolutely awful. .164/.270/.255. They are 90% playoff odds so definitely buyers. They love power bats. They have pitching prospects and they don’t mind trading non elite prospects because they can just sign vet replacements to fill out a roster or trade for another guy next year.
  3. Hard to peg a value on Yoho. He kind of looks like Devin Williams with 6 years of control, and that would be quite valuable. But I don't really understand why he's not pitching for the MLB team. 19th ranked prospect and a reliever i don't blink twice trading him away, 6 years of control for a top 10 (let's say) closer that would definitely not be worth Suarez rental.
  4. In a vacuum I would do Pratt for Lopez. In reality I'm not so sure. We end up with a problem of what to do with 2 fairly similar players (Ortiz and Lopez) and what effects you would get from the change. Maybe it's some sort of platoon failure. SS and C i don't like changing up those positions late in the season honestly when the defense is working. If Ortiz was still hitting like his May numbers I would be all for it.
  5. Maybe Gasser could work, I think he fits their timeline. I think they want pitching but not the low A guys or AAAA fodder like CRod appears to be.
  6. If they add a really good bat like Suarez then they could also use LF. Collins Durbin Suarez 3 players for 2 spots, it's not too bad of an idea for an August lineup.
  7. I think if AZ calls us they ask for Logan Henderson, and if we say no to that they call the Cubs, Yankees and Mariners. Maybe Myers can get it done, maybe need a sweetener, but I think they would try to aim higher.
  8. I think this is just Bauers not being 100% and also struggling and the Brewers are using MiLB depth to rest him up, simple as that
  9. Let's be real, CC left for dump trucks full of cash, nothing more, nothing less
  10. “I don’t want to sit here and hope that things are going to happen,” Hazen said. “I’m kind of done hoping. We want to see it happen. It is what it is — we’ve been waiting now for the better part of three-plus months. This is a direct quote from their GM. This is what a GM says when he’s about to sell but can’t say “we stink and I’m selling”.
  11. They pretty much said they are trading Suarez and they want young pitching in return. I think Myers isn’t great trade bait personally but it’s hard to peg his value and it’s not crazy especially if paired with a prospect. https://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/mlb/diamondbacks/2025/07/15/arizona-diamondbacks-trade-deadline-mike-hazen/85199832007/ Although really I think Suarez is probably unobtainable because the bidding is going to get nuts. The Yankees for example may beat any bid unless it’s Logan Henderson or something.
  12. That was too easy, I feel like he should have made us work a little harder for it
  13. They are probably going to sign 8 guys in the top 250. Last year they had 3, previous year 6, 2022 they had 4. That makes this draft look pretty solid I think, but they do need to sign those guys plus a few upside HS players.
  14. It's hard to peg how far under slot they are but I guarantee they will take 1 or 2 top 150 players and if they have the money they will throw $1.5m+ at them to try to get a sign. Can't guarantee they sign though. I've seen them win enough times to hope on it.
  15. Wonder which unsignable HS player we will take a crack at
  16. Just noticed Shane Smith had 4 starts in a row of giving up 5+ runs and ERA is pushing mid 4s. The Arnold truthers can breath a sigh of relief.
  17. Ragsdale looks like a 21 yo junior so not a senior sign
  18. There is the new Cooper Pratt (probably can't play SS though)
  19. Yeah hard to say. I would guess slightly under. He has options though, go back to school for whatever at Princeton or pitch a year and show he's healthy and maybe he's a 1st rounder.
  20. Going hard on pitchers this draft. I think the lower minors needed it, especially HS age guys.
  21. I don’t think they are under budget by much but I think they have enough to take at least 1 swing on a top 150ish player
  22. Age 21 should be under slot because it's very unlikely he would go back to school and try to up his stock to a 22 year old top 10 pick
  23. Nats pen is horrible. Must be their way to keep tanking with guys like Wood and Abrams.
