I don't want it to get lost in the game thread how great Jason Alexander was tonight. He definitely earned another start next time they need a 5th starter
Logically it'll either be Hiura or Brosseau sent down. Even though Hiura currently has the highest OPS+ on the team it feels like it'll be him due to his lack of positional versatility
DH definitely feels like the spot we could upgrade now that Taylor seems to be am everyday guy. I'd love for CC to start Hiura there on a regular basis to see if he can step up like Tyrone has
Hoping to take 2 out of these 4, considering we're on the road and dealing with injuries or absences to multiple key players I'd gladly take a split here
If we have a lead today it'll be fascinating to see how Counsell manages the bullpen assuming Devin & Gott are unavailable since they've each pitched b2b days
On one hand Turang and Small are likely to fill 2 of those spots shortly, it's possible someone like Dahl or a pitcher they like could fill the 3rd. But it's weird to do it before you actually call those guys up
Currently Adames & Renfroe are tied for the NL lead in Home Runs, Rowdy is tied for the NL lead in RBI, Wong is tied for the NL lead in Stolen Bases, Hader leads the majors in Saves, & Burnes leads the NL in Ks
Hiura has a 98 OPS+ which obviously isn't great but wasn't terrible. I feel this has more to do with the fact the ABs likely aren't there for Hiura with Rowdy's breakout
Fwiw I posted that before yesterday's outburst. They are now 4th in MLB in runs scored after last night. The Brewers currently have a top 5 offense by run production
Kind of an oddity, not really hitting related but just position player related, Jace Peterson currently is tied for the 5th highest WAR on the team(tied for 2nd highest among position players). This is entirely due to his Defensive WAR of 0.5(-0.1 offensive WAR)
Any team beating the Dodgers in a best of 5 or a best of 7 seems unlikely but that's why the games are played because who knows what will happen. Nobody predicted the Braves would win last year entering the playoffs
Generally someone charges the mound when the pitcher throws a 90+ mph baseball at them. In this case I doubt the hitter did anything to attempt to physically harm the pitcher
