  1. Jacobs isn't a "big downgrade" from Jones at all. He's been more productive, healthier, and is significantly younger. He's likely to be more productive outside of the LV dumpster fire. I get the fan viewpoint reaction, but that is just not an accurate take...
  2. I agree it's a little weird it took Mason this long to land anywhere given some of the awful kicking in NFL. Although, I'm not sure why you thought Seattle would be a fit as Jason Myers is a Pro Bowl level kicker
  3. I think you might be underestimating them a little bit. UW historically gets better as the season goes on. I see them as more of a 7-10 seed come Selection Sunday
  4. I agree with a lot of your post, but completely disagree with your Yelich comments. He is one of the very best baserunners in all of MLB and definitely had a chance to reach 3rd base if that ball didn't bounce right back to Longoria. It was very aggressive baserunning that obviou;sly didn't work out. Also, he had 0% chance of catching the bloop single in G2. The infield was or else maybe Adames has a shot at that ball, but no chance for an OFer to get to it
  5. Any thoughts on the lineup tonight...I'm guessing the same as yesterday except maybe Monasterio for Turang since Freddy's an extreme K/Fly Ball guy
  6. All good, we obviously disagree on Winker, who without doubt has been bad this year. Nevertheless, I trust him more than Mitchell who has been out basically all year
  7. Unfortunately, mitchell strikes out 40% + of the time, so a good AB from him is less likely..
  8. Miller on the roster at all makes no sense to me...he's been useless since Memorial Day. Rowdy's been bad all year, but he at least has power as a PHer Winker I understand as I trust him to give a professional AB...
  9. Winker doesn't surprise me, as he is likely to give you a professional AB as a potential pinch hitter. Owen Miller, on the other hand, makes no sense to me as his magic pixie dust has been absent sine Memorial Day
  10. Brewers in 3 Phillies in 3 Rangers in 3 (This makes no sense...just a hunch as everyone loves the Rays) Jays in 3
  11. I also agree Winker could be a possibility for the last potential PH bench role
  12. I agree except both Mitchell and Perkins fill the same role IMO. I'm not 100 % sure Mitchell will be ready, but I might go with Weimer instead of a guy who basically has been out all season.
  13. Despite the vitriol he gets on this board, I'm fine with Chafin. He is an experienced reliever who has had a very solid career. In fact, it wouldn't shock me if he was on the playoff roster due to his postseason experience, and this board would likely explode.....
  14. Just to clarify, a DFA in the offseason could very well happen, just not during this month
  15. Unless Rowdy has a phantom injury and goes on the IL, I don't see a DFA in his future
  16. Completely disagree with this. Turang is going to be starting next year either at SS or 2B depending on what happens with Adames. Monasterio is likely a bench player or tradeable depending on other off season moves
  17. Bryant hurting the Cubs is pure joy.....
  18. The answer to that is likely zero, despite your conspiracy theory that Stearns has been secretly working for the Mets for years
  19. As good as Gallen/Kelly are, I still prefer the D'Backs. I don't believe there bullpen is very good and their lineup is a step below the Cubs and Phillies IMO
  20. It certainly possible, but not likely IMO. They already have won both series against the Phillies this year, including beating Nola just this past weekend
  21. How could this possibly be true????...if you follow the negativity on this board Candelario was a HOF add and Canha was a useless spare part. It's almost like you can't judge trade deadline activity after one week...
  22. That guy with a "whiffle ball bat" has a .701 ops in the second half and a .771 ops in August. Add his defense to that and that's more than acceptable
  23. Agree to disagree. Taylor is the definition of "just a guy" IMO. I don't believe he is a regular starter on a contending team. A 4th or 5th OF'er, maybe, but nevertheless very replaceable... I'm not even a Wiemer guy, but I would take his upside over Taylor 10 times out of 10.
  24. Major overreaction to Taylor's value, as it's a 38 AB sample size. We have multiple years of TT being a 4th OF (at best). If you forced me to guess he's likely a trade, or maybe non-tender option, in the offseason, as there are cheaper more talented options coming up through the system that are going to be MLB ready soon
