  1. That pitch Segura took off the hand sounded/looked nasty. Really glad he appears to be ok, but would not be surprised if he comes out after this inning.
  2. 13-14 overall with a 4 game win streak tucked in there somewhere... followed by a 4 game losing streak.
  3. I have an overwhelming feeling Michael Wacha has a bright future as an MLB pitcher. Seems like the guy can really shove it, [sarcasm]just the way you would envision a 6'6"/210lbs Texan to do it.[/sarcasm]
  4. Mission accomplished! That deal is so crazy, even Dayton Moore thinks its insane. I really like the passion, I just think it is lopsided well beyond any plausible exchange of talent. The collection of Brewers listed would have almost no value as a package. I think Ramirez could have some trade value but it is obviously hampered by his contract/age and Aoki has potentially marginal trade value. Weeks is on the wrong side of 30 and has an albatross contract. Hunter Morris doesn't have anywhere near the ceiling of Eric Hosmer, and Hosmer is a year younger than Morris. As an aside, I would be surprised if the Royals were willing to trade Mondesi. By all accounts Adalberto has a full compliment of tools and is 17 years old playing A ball (Sally League). His offensive numbers aren't great this season, but he is playing against elder competition. I actually think scouts have been aware of Olt's vision problems since he was drafted. I realize he is seeking help now, but Kevin Goldstein addressed the issue of him having vision problems during a podcast back in 2010, I believe. Obviously things seem to be taking a turn for the worse now.
  5. Well that is exciting news for Donovan and should add some flair to the clubhouse... http://binaryapi.ap.org/db2fb3c69d204e5d8891147ba795b15a/512x.jpg
  6. My overall interest in baseball analysis and prospect speculation has increased significantly over the past two years. As my interest in these areas has escalated to what could be deemed unhealthy levels, my overall affection for the Brewers organization has waned heavily. I still absolutely love watching every second of Jean Segura on a baseball field, but honestly I think I could enjoy watching him play whether it was at Miller Park or running out for the Gigantes during Winter ball. I mentioned this recently in a different thread, but when the Cardinals recorded the final out of the 2011 World Series, 7 of the 9 players standing on the field were home grown talent developed through their own system. Until the Brewers show any ability to have success via internal player development, I have trouble being fully invested emotionally in the on-field product. Despite occasional successes like acquiring Segura last season, I have little hope that the current administration will steer their approach toward valuing younger cost controlled talent, cutting edge player development, and international talent evaluation. While I still root for the Brewers as an overall organization I find myself gravitating toward those organizations that build from the ground up and employ a trend setting mentality to the way they do business everyday throughout their organization.
  7. Out of the game now, but 6 innings, 7 K's, 5 BB's, ZERO hits. Nice outing to build some confidence. Hopefully they can hold on and get the kid a win.

  9. It would be fascinating to see the Brewers initial offer to Segura. It would great to sign him to a team friendly deal, but I can understand why Segura and his agent would wait it out at this point. Below is the breakdown of Salvador Perez contract with the Royals at the beginning of last season. While the dollar figures in Segura's offer were likely higher, I envision the offer being structured somewhat similarly... Year 1: $0.75M Year 2: $1M Year 3: $1.5M Year 4: $1.75M Year 5: $2M Year 6: $3.75M - club option Year 7: $5M - club option Year 8: $6M - club option $5M in unknown incentives Obviously putting the majority of the money into the club option years and also including a large amount of incentive based pay would reduce much of the risk from the Brewers standpoint. Would also be great to have him secured throughout his 20's in a deal that would end just after his peak free agent years. I think Segura has likely already played his way past signing a deal this team friendly, but if the offer actually was a month ago than kudos to the Brewers for atleast trying.
  10. Victor Roache hit an opposite field line drive HR in the first inning. It also provided a much needed distraction from the big league club, for the moment at least.
  11. Brewers finally get a lead on the Cardinals, here we go!....uh, nope. http://gaggif.com/albums/userpics/2013y/04/11/15/1/74825y7-gaggif.gif
  12. Oops, I meant to put that statement in [sarcasm]BLUE[/sarcasm]
  13. Great to see Badenhop have a nice inning there. He was really working that sinker just off the outside of the plate.
  14. Apparently the plan all along was for Aramis to not play today, despite the fact he has great career numbers vs Wainwright.
  15. I wonder when the law of averages will kick in for David Freese versus the Brewers?!
  16. Amazing how predictable it has almost become that not taking advantage of the inning ending double play will result in a three run HR against the Cardinals.
  17. Well they certainly have this throwing guys out at the plate thing down this season.
  18. Flipping to the 9th inning of the Mets-Braves game it is amazing how enjoyable a well placed centerfield camera angle can be. Really shows how poor the Miller Park centerfield angle is.
  19. Did anyone notice Weeks eyes on that swing were looking toward the home dugout. He looked like the singing bear at Chuck E Cheese.
  20. Per the TV broadcast, this is the only time this season they are going to wear these caps.
  21. Thanks! Nah, not lost. Been lurking here since 2011. I just love baseball and like to see other fans views on things. I second that welcome! As someone who occasionally peruses other fan boards as well, curious which site you consider your "mother-board"?
  22. I completely agree. I wish they would have had these hats last year when they wore the 1982 throwback unis at Busch Stadium.... http://news.sportslogos.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/brweers2.jpg
