  1. Count me in the category that would like to see the team explore a contract extension with Segura next off-season. I am also curious if they will address any limits on the number of winter ball games they want him to play in the future. I know they weren't thrilled with the amount of baseball he played this past off-season. While they could do it regardless of his contract status, it seems like a new contract would provide an opportunity to ask him to limit the amount of baseball he plays outside of the MLB season.
  2. My biggest concern (and the scenario I think is most likely) is they will climb back just close enough to .500 to keep hope alive past the trade deadline, but never get over the proverbial hump to have a legitimate shot at a playoff run. Obviously I would love to see a playoff push, but that doesn't look promising at this point. And given the other alternatives, I would rather have them out of the playoff race in July and able to make decisions that can benefit the future of the club as opposed to riding out a 78 win season.
  3. Good Outside the Lines this morning regarding the mess the Marlins are in currently with political outrage over the stadium agreement and increasing fan apathy toward the team. The Miami Mayor was very direct in his criticism of Jeffery Loria. They also referred to a group of young Marlins fans that were escorted out of the stadium for having signs/shirts protesting the Marlins. The group started their own website, linked here: Rage Against The Marlins website There is a lot of financial incentive for Loria to wait until after 2015 to sell the team (wouldn't have to give a portion of the sale to the city at that point), but it is hard to see the resentment surrounding the franchise improving much in the near future.
  4. Didn't think we would see that combination of hitters #5-#8 in the lineup 10 games into the season... or ever for that matter.
  5. With two home games slated for the Timber Rattlers today and needing a distraction from the Brewers season, I think I am going to pull the trigger on purchasing MiLB.TV. Before I pony up the $40, just curious if anyone has feedback, either positive or negative regarding the service, video quality, etc?
  6. Well following the Jose Reyes ankle injury the Blue Jays are now in need of a SS. Watching the Blue Jays telecast they are speculating the Jays may reach out to some teams with SS depth. As DM once said, Yuni B is a major league shortstop. Adam Lind in return maybe? Or maybe they will just pay cash.
  7. Reportedly an 8 game suspension for Quentin, and 1 game for Jerry Hairston Jr.
  8. It does seem peculiar Lohse went 87 pitches in his last start and after 6 days of rest is pulled after 82.
  9. I thought the speculation was 100 pitches, but I never saw anything confirmed.
  10. I think this explains itself, but Ben Stiller is BF.net, Rufus and Meekus are Doug and Ron, Brint (lights cigarette) is our bullpen, and the car is the team/season... http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view6/3083247/zoolander-gas-fight-o.gif
  11. Not so fast... http://i47.tinypic.com/24xiaur.jpg
  12. This is my silver lining also.
  13. I am starting to think the true insanity is my willingness to spend 3+ hours watching this every night. Well at least Segura and Peralta gave nice efforts tonight.
