  1. On MLB Network that had birthday cupcake’s for Freddy Peralta while they interviewed him. Greg Amsigner asked him for his birthday wish as they blew out the candles on the cupcakes. His answer was “to win the World Series”. What a fantastic birthday wish, Freddy.
  2. We can probably say this every night with every umpire but Joe has had an awful game tonight. That’s future Hall of Famer, Joe West. How crazy is it he’s going to be enshrined into Cooperstown.
  3. Do you have a link or can you provide more context? I would never be surprised by any pitcher using a substance (I think many of them certainly are), but Freddy Peralta has had very consistent spin rates throughout his 4 year MLB career. Same story for Burnes, he has reportedly had remarkable spin rates since his amateur days. That’s not to say they couldn’t still be using something, but at least the track record indicates some consistency. Other pitchers, such as Jimmy Nelson, have gone from having slightly below average spin rates in the past to now having among the highest spin in baseball this season. Seems like those outlier jumps in spin rate are more likely to appear as a red flag.

  5. From Sarah Langs: Avisaíl García! 464 ft That's his 4th-longest HR tracked by Statcast (since 2015)!

  7. I think it would take more than Small and Ray. I don’t think Ray has much remaining trade appeal at this point. Assuming the Brewers wouldn’t be open to moving Mitchell or Turang, I think it would take a couple of their other top 8-10 prospects. Maybe ONE of the following headline pieces: Mario Feliciano Aaron Ashby Hedbert Perez Ethan Small Along with ONE of these prospects: Antoine Kelly Eduardo Garcia Tristen Lutz Freddy Zamora And probably a THIRD prospect not mentioned above. For example, maybe something like Mario Feliciano, Tristen Lutz, and Reese Olson.
  8. Luis Urias has a .901 OPS since the Willy Adames trade was announced.
  9. I’ll go 20-7 just because that sounds like a lot of fun (I was going to say 16-11 seemed about right, but what fun is that).
  10. It’s a very small sample so take it with a grain of salt, but Cron’s production has mostly come at Coors Field this season. 11. LHP Matt Boyd started the game last September 9th versus the Brewers that the Crew ultimately won 19-0.
  12. This photo from the Memorial Day game (photographer is Larry Radloff) displays some of the energy the team has displayed since the Adames acquisition. It was also nice to see that Adames was the one executing the Gatorade bath after the walk-off hit for Urias. The Brewers are 8-2 since Adames joined the squad. 14. Brewers official scorekeeper said if Urias would’ve touched second base it would’ve been a double. Via Adam McCalvy: It's a single, per longtime official scorer Tim O'Driscoll. Urías would have had to step on second to get the double, even though the ball bounced over the wall.
  15. JBJ and Urias both with extra innings walk-off hits to RF warning track in the past week. Love it!
  16. Alright Boxberger! EDIT: I wasn’t high on the Boxberger acquisition, but he’s sure been getting the job done more often than not.
  17. And if we didn’t use Hader in the 9th we could be packing up and going home because we lost. Sure, that’s the risk you take to give your elite reliever a chance to win the game in this weird extra runner rule situation. Hader in the 10th would be a massive advantage, but if you don’t trust any of your other relievers against the bottom of the Tigers order in the 9th than I guess they aren’t in a position to use it to their advantage.
  18. 3rd straight extra innings game at AmFam Field. It would be pretty nice to have Hader on the mound in this situation.
  19. For those who thought Hader was used in the 9th the other day because of where the opponent was in their lineup, I think Hader facing the Tigers bottom of the order here pretty much proves he is always getting the 9th inning regardless of the potential win probability benefit of saving him for the 10th in this tie game situation.
