  1. You can't win with veterans OPSing in the 600's. If Yelich and Winker would be OPSing in even the low 700's two rookies struggling in their first month in the majors wouldn't be a problem given their defense.
  2. How is he supposed to learn to hit big league pitching in AAA? If the time comes where there's not enough playing time for him because Urias is back and there's no place to play him fine. But to do it now when there's no clear cut better alternative seems to be missing a chance to let him learn.
  3. My brother used cologuard as prescribed by his doctor. It came back in December of 2021 as problematic and had to get a colonoscopy where they discovered he had terminal colon cancer. He passed away last March. He had a colonoscopy at 50 and was told cologuard was a safe alternative. He was 55 when he passed away. I don't know if the doctor prescribed because he found troubling signs at 50 and thought it was best to check with cologuard annually as opposed to having a colonoscopy in a few years, if it was in combination with the three year plan or he didn't find any problems and thought cologuard was enough. Another brother, who is his natural born sibling lives with me. Our doctor recommended every three years because he found some worrisome polyps but didn't mention cologuard. Now that I read your doctor didn't really know much about it I'm going to ask. If he doesn't know much about it and thinks it's a good idea you may have helped save another's life just by a random comment.
  4. My argument was Yelich signing that deal indicated he liked it here. It is possible a league MVP, in his prime decided to sign a long term extension at what would be below market price if he remained anything close to his norm to a team he didn't like just for security. It's also possible Big Foot exists. I've heard that too. Seems odd no other players suffered similar declines or that Yelich was the only one doing it.
  5. I tend to think the consensus opinion at the time is more accurate of what he could have got at that time. There were plenty of reasons to not have liked the deal at the time. The length and annual cost for a player entering his 30's, the deferred money and the prospect lost that trading him at his peak are all valid reasons to not have liked the deal back then. None of those reasons detract from the fact he signed a team friendly deal at that time. Personally I wasn't enamored with it. I'm not a fan of signing anyone to those types of deals. But I did recognize it was a value at the time. Even though I didn't think he'd be worth the cost later in the deal I thought he'd be worth more than he was early in the deal. As far as him liking being here I guess I'm just taking his word for it combined with his actions. Like for instance signing a below market deal. It seems far more credible than him thinking he was about to implode.
  6. As I've said he has to agree and I doubt he will. Let's for a moment assume he will. How does trading for an euqally bad contract help what so ever? Why would he have thought that?
  7. He has a full no trade clause. He agreed to a team friendly deal because he liked it here. What makes anyone think would he agree to leave?
  8. I passed a loaded dump truck that was using the cover they all have but never use.
  9. Speed is his calling card so there is that.
  10. How are they going to get anyone to go to minor league games when they're a major league team playing down the street?
  11. I'd move Anderson to the outfield and go with Brosseau at third for now. Might as well ride the hot bat while it lasts. I think they'd be better off with a bench player with good defense given the way Anderson and Brosseau have hit so far.
  12. AM I the only one who just doesn't care about the NCAA basketball tournament?
  13. I get it has to be done but it is annoying to have the house shake every morning at 8am as they tear down the old school across the street.
  14. I took an order to do a delivery to a kid in the stands at a hockey game. This is the conversation that followed. Mom: How will you know where we're sitting. ME: When I get there I'll text you so you can show me where she's sitting Mom: How will I know who you are? Me: (after a bit of a pause) I'll be the unicorn holding balloons.
  15. This falls in the category of not learning from experience. A team like ours should hardly ever sign players to long, pricey contracts. Certainly not more than one at a time. We'd have to fill the roster full of minimum wage guys just to field a team around Yelich and Adames.
  16. I'm curious as to what Burnes thought was going to happen. The brewers weren't going to go in and point out all his good qualities. I'm a nobody on a fan page and I knew years ago how the process worked. If he didn't understand the Brewers were going to talk about the negatives that's on him and his agent.
  17. Lack of depth was probably the most significant reason we failed to make the playoffs last year. Seems to me fixing the most significant problem is the best way forward. Getting younger and deeper does that. An allstar closer, two of the top starters in baseball, an allstar catcher, and no actual weaknesses at any position seems to be enough to go toe to toe with any team in the playoffs. As long as they're healthy in the playoffs I like our chances. We need the depth so they remain healthy in the playoffs and to keep us from face planting if a rash of injuries occur like they did last season.
  18. I wondered the same thing. Pretty sure he mean Bob Wickman.
  19. I owned one so you know how old I am. Biggest piece of garbage I ever had although I never owned a Yugo.

  21. I kind of wish Stearns would leave so the speculation would stop. I'd also like to see what he does with another team. He did very well here but wasn't perfect. If he's given the keys to a Corvette instead of a Chevette the expectation go up as well. He's earned the chance to play with big boy money if he wants but there are reputational risks with doing that as well. Overall Arnold seems to be off to a good start here so I don't really care.

  23. Yea, but I heard he stopped drinking. Possible come back player of the year candidate?
  24. Before this signing we were going to have to rely on four rookies covering three positions. Now we only need to rely on them to cover two. The added flexibility of Anderson to cover either third or right means one of those rookies doesn't NEED to be Turang. While I didn't have a problem with going with the rookies, not needing to rely on 3/4 of them to produce right away is nice.
