  1. I wanted us to get our hands on Paxton a few years ago. When healthy that guys fun.
  2. Haha nice edit after you saw I made another comment! What a tool Didn’t edit it because of your comment ole boy. Added the ending because you’re predictable. Edit.......... notice the time stamp. Tool....
  3. Topper you’re getting ridiculous at times with this stuff. Not much he could do on that play. But I’m sure you’ll die on that hill.
  4. Counsell and Stearns doing lots of questionable things these days. Buckle up. This is going to get bumpy.
  5. Walker has been marginally better than Sogard this year .189/.282/222 Yeah it’s well known that he has had a poor start but it probably isn’t the indication that he’s now a terrible hitter considering how steady he’s been his entire career.
  6. The amount of money wasted on Vogt and Sogard has me beginning to question Stearns. What an absolute waste of resources when a better player, Walker, was just sitting around all winter and spring. Terrible.
  7. It is amazing that some guys get a cat's life in the MLB while there are some that can never seem to break through, no matter what they do.
  8. That last post got me.
  9. I kind be hope Becky Hammon is the best qualifyed person for the job. It would be awesome to see a female breakthrough into a pro coaching role.
  10. What talent though? His prospect ranking exploded because of the small possibility his bat would be something after one good year. He then proceeded to be "meh" in Colorado's hitter haven. He was young, I know. He essentially lives off one great year in AA. The way he is swinging the bat on a daily basis is quite sad. Either someone needs to fix the way he bats or we need to sop treating him like he is something special. He looks terrible at the plate, the mechanics don't make sense, and he produces. No amoun of ABs are going to make him better unless he sees a massive overhaul on multiple fronts. Jonathan Villar had phenominal 24/25 year old seasons, but for some reason he is 100% 2017 Villar and no chance to be good again to the majority of people on this board. I just don't get how one can be so positive about Arcia, but Villar is assured to be trash. Both are young players with talent. You’re barking up the wrong tree because I’ve advocated for Villar and been in his corner, over and over again. It’s flat out ridiculous that guys like Perez and Sogard are playing over him but it has become expected from Counsell. Villar has too much talent to not have been given a chance to display it this year. I’m not disagreeing that Arcia hasn’t been good but not playing him right now would be a very poor choice IMO. It’s exactly the opposite of what we should be doing IMO. Arcia will hopefully settle into being the mid .700’s ops’er that he should be but not playing him won’t get him there. The problem some are having is that they had too high of expectations to begin with.
  11. Short term, yup! Wouldn't even hesitate. He would still play a lot between SS/2B where it wouldn't effect his developement at all. Of course 2B production is so bad too I doubt we would fix two black holes up the middle at once. He has been the 14th worst offensive player this year...out of 220 players with 90+ PA. That's not just bad. Comparing him to Yount is interesting to say the least, especially considering Yount entered the league at 18 years old. I guess A. Escobar will start mashing any second now. Age as an easy out answer...weird it doesn't work for 27 year old Villar though. Throwing him out there everyday when he resembles a pitcher at the plate is doing nothing positive I can tell you that. Would I be starting Sogard/Perez over him...uhh no. I would not complain if they upgraded him to help the offense etc. though. SHORT TERM My point wasn’t that Arcia ever becomes a Yount type player but that if we never give these guys a long leash, we will never know. Even with Yount breaking in at 18, it took him 6-7 years to become a good player. Just imagine calling for him to be benched at 22? His stats probably would have justified it. We really need to be patient with a guy that has the talent of Arcia or we really might miss out on something special. Or we won’t. That’s the crapshoot of baseball.
  12. Arcia isn’t 24 years old until August and OPS’d .731 a season ago. Brewers god Yount was trash at the plate until his mid 20’s but we should go a different direction at shortstop? Come on...
  13. 1. Santana- RF 2. Cain- CF 3. Yelich- LF (L) 4. Braun- 1B 5. Shaw- 3B (L) 6. Pina- C 7. Arcia- SS 8. Pitcher 9. Villar- 2B (S) -DFA Sogard and Bandy. -Send down Phillips -Call up Orf (or Dubon if his knee is fine), Bethancourt and Choi. Set it and forget it for about a week and see how it plays out.
  14. And as we have seen from Arcia, rankings mean jack squat sometimes.
  15. Boycotting the games until Sogard is gone. Enjoy boys.
  16. Sogard continues to get starts and his OPS is .328 Yeah, you read that correctly... .328 Nothing justifies what Stearns and Counsell are doing. Nothing.
  17. You don't need any statistical proof that Vogt has a bad arm. Watch him throw. It was a 2 hopper to second base most of the time. He was brutal to say the least. I was a catcher, trust me I blame every pitcher I have ever caught but Vogt just has a terrible arm for a major league catcher. Maybe some of it is old age or injury, but it wasn't good a season ago.
  18. It would make a lot of sense for the rest of the NL to get really good as the Brewers start to be competitive.
  19. I think this is it but I think it has to the "right" player for Stearns to jump on. The way he talked about Cain/Yelich after obtaining them showed how giddy he was to get those types of players. Hopefully, a couple more of these types will come available to round out this lineup a bit better.
  20. yup, I haven't watched this season though, all on the dvr. Plan to binge it this summer. I have really enjoyed this series. I'm excited for you to see the current direction. Edge of my seat with last nights show. It felt like I watched an hour long movie. Really hope the Fox - Disney merger doesn't kill this show. It would be an absolute shame.
  21. The next month will tell us a lot about what we may or may not need to do with our second base position. Probably by mid-June, there will need to be a decision made based on the data collected over this year and the previous two about whether or not having Villar in our lineup is the right move. Another factor will be where this team is in the standings. Right now, it would seem like we'll be in a spot to make moves for this year but we are exciting our "easy" part of the schedule so we will have to see what this team looks like against some other opponents before making that decision.
  22. He also gunned down a steal attempt, a very positive sign for him. I'd rank his arm at about potato gun level.
  23. Anyone watch Gotham? I’m a Batman guy, this show seemed to have no direction at times but this season has been awesome.
