If we are doing this. The window opens this season. But, if we are doing this, the window may close on us soon. We would really deplete the farm with this type of off-season. Not only that but you would probably have to sign a few more players (Cain, Oh) to even make it worth it to do something like this.

I do like the fact that Stearns and Co. seem to be trying to take advantage of the market and of teams trying to stay under the luxury tax and/or trying to get Harper a year from now. Very smart to act now while the market favors a team like Milwaukee.

Is Yu Darvish kind of a diva? lol from his tweets to some of the things you hear, I don't know. It'd be interesting to hear the pitch Stearns gives about the Brewers and Milwaukee. Especially to an Asian player.

I'm not sure why so many are up in arms about Ellsbury being a Brewer? If it means that we are moving Brinson, Phillips, Santana, or even Broxton on, Ellsbury fits in with the Brewers and gives them a pretty good bat from the left side of the plate. If we are taking on him and his contract plus a couple of prospects, and then moving those other OF's in another deal for pitching... what's not to like?

I am hoping Stearns is just making moves because he feels that he can better our Brewers and the rest of the organization. If he tries to do that in every deal, winning will take care of itself. If we are taking back Ellsbury and his large salary, we need to be getting more than just one prospect in return or this deal doesn't make a lot of sense. Again, all we are doing is speculating and I'm perfectly fine with taking on Elsbury if it means other moves are in the works. We could really transform our major league team into something special as well as keep the pipeline churning.

Seeing pictures of Cory Hart with a gray beard and Prince at Fantasy Camp is nice but for some reason it is depressing. Maybe because I always thought they'd be the group that brought a trophy to Milwaukee or it makes me feel older. I don't know. Great to have them with the Brewers though, even just for this.

Have you been there? Yes, it was ancient the day it was finished being built, 30 years ago. The ratios of seats are wrong (way more uppers than lowers) and every single thing about it is outdated. It would need ~200M in upkeep just to stay up to code in the coming years -- things like heating, wiring and plubming, let alone the cost to modernize things like ribbon boards, scoreboards and concessions (which are an absolute disaster at the current BC). No I’ve never been. Thanks for explaining. Can see why a new arena was needed.

They're replacement level players at the back end of the 40 man roster and neither will likely ever be more than that. You’re probably right but you just never know. Jungmann has a great season in the minors last year, as did Wang. Wang being a lefty, they usually take more time and we have a lack of them in our system. Like I’ve said before, we have let other talented pitchers get away from us and kept these two. Now we just let them have their outright release. It’s just not a good use of roster construction in my opinion.
