  1. Blah. Been hearing that something is in the works for awhile now.
  2. The main reason why pitchers suck at hitting is they never do as they come up thru the ranks. Hell, even pitchers in a NL farm system don't start to hit regularly until AA so it is any wonder they stink at the plate? http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/71693338/new-york-mets-bartolo-colon-among-worst-hitting-pitchers-ever From the looks of it, pitchers have never been good.
  3. brewers also deleted Segura's contract, so the Hill's "Real" cost os even less $2.6 mil gone from Segura and added $550k from Anderson. So roughly $4.5 mil added with Hill coming on over. If my math is right...
  4. If we could dump Garza to them for him, sure... I'll take Guerrero.
  5. The guy is worth it to bring in to camp at least. The more guys competing for these positions, the better. Plus all it will do is add depth (even though we have OF depth already).
  6. Nice addition for the kiddos but nothing really to write home about. Basically a ice cream truck with a Brewers logo on it.

  8. I'm more sold on Brinson from Texas than Gallo. I'd like to pair up Lucroy with Davis to Texas and get Brinson plus some real impact arms coming back. An future OF of Brinson, Phillips and possibly Braun/Santana or whoever else pans out as the third has some real possibility defensively and offensively.
  9. Gallo is intriguing but if he is all we are getting in return, yikes. He could be a huge bust. I know, I know... they all could be. But that guy hasn't shown the ability to put the ball in play very often. Granted when he does its 400ft but I know like most of you, I am tired of that approach.
  10. I would take Swihart in a heart beat. Getting a 24 year old, switch hitting catcher who's not a free agent until 2022 and has shown signs of brilliance with the bat (2nd half stats: .303/.353/.453/.805) would be a huge get for the Brewers. I'm not even sure the Red Sox, who have plenty of catching, would even trade him. Kopech would be a guy to target because he was caught for 50 games already and they might want to unload him.
  11. I'm just surprised Lucroy is atop everyones list. While his trade value is high, he's still a catcher that is up there in age.
  12. This would be amazing. Toss in Will Smith and get that done. Red Sox wanna win now.
  13. Yah you would think his cheap control and production would be really attractive if a DH was put in place so fast. Suddenly 15 teams would need a DH suddenly. I am still skeptical it will be put in place in 2017. That seems too fast and 3 years seems more realistic. If I'm the Brewers with Davis and Braun I'm voting for it to be put into place sooner. They are one NL team who is setup for a DH now.
  14. Whoops. I didn't realize he wasn't on the 40 man. I'll edit mine.
  15. 1) Jimmy Nelson 2) Orlando Arcia 3) Will Smith 4) Jonathon Lucroy 5) Ryan Braun 6) Taylor Jungmann 7) Khris Davis 8) Wily Peralta 9) Jorge Lopez 10) Zach Daives 11) Jeremy Jeffress
  16. None of which are can't miss prospects so we would need something more substantial in return.
  17. Sounds like a good trade to me.
  18. Maybe the DH is coming faster than originally discussed?
  19. Maybe he is trying to sign some vets to keep Lucroy happy.
  20. Braun was a top 5 OPS in the NL last season. (I don't count Carlos Gonzalez because well, playing in CO is a joke(.758 away games)) He played 140 games last season but again couldn't finish the year. Had he completed the season, I could've seen a huge market for him. Our best decision would be to keep him and hope he can somehow get on a healthy track. I'm glad he took PED's now because he never would've made it this far without them, health wise.
  21. There was absolutely nothing wrong with what he had said. His issue and why the jsonline comment section type irrational, knee jerk, over reactive fans blew up is solely because he gets asked questions and tells the truth. We live in a world where truth is highly devalued. People need everything so sugar coated in order to make themselves feel good. A Brewer fan cannot handle a Brewer player simply saying that we are most likely not going to be competing for a playoff spot.... we all now that it true but it is not okay for a player to say so publicly. There prefer (actually NEED) the David Stearns, loop around the question, we are acquiring best talent to have sustained success in the future type answer. Only thing Lucroy is allowed to say, is "no matter the moves we make, we are going to go out and try to win the world series this season." Those fans can now sleep at night and the world is good. A GM doesn't need to go search to hard to find out Lucroy is a class act, blue collar, hard working, great guy, great teammate who is competitive and has a fire to win. They can ask anyone in the Brewers locker room or front office. Rangers can walk down and talk to Prince. His issue is he doesn't believe in lying or sugar coating the truth. Highly doubt a GM of a contending team is going to back away from Lucroy because he said he wants to compete, win, and get to a World Series. "Oh No! He may poison our locker room with that attitude!" "We can't get him! He is a cancer! He wants to win and will say it publicly!" This was about as "knee jerk" of a response to this situation as it gets. While society might be more PC, it still doesn't mean you just spout off about everything and anything and it all is okay. Lucroy chose to give his answer the way he did. While you might commend him, others won't and don't, including other MLB players.
  22. 1. DH is used in most high school games I've ever played in or coached. Might not always be for the pitcher but I have played with and coached many "just pitchers" even in high school. 2. Braun and Davis should be held onto until the vote, I agree. If the NL gets a DH those two are perfect for that role and filling in when needed in the OF.
  23. Because not all of us are about offense offense and more offense. Letting pitchers hits adds something to the game. Strategizing around the pitchers spot is interesting. In the long run it is better for the game. No more rallies killed by the #9 guy etc. However there are aspects I will miss about pitchers hitting. It's not that I want to see some big slugger up there just someone other than what pitchers are. They are horrible. It is and always has been a lousy rule in baseball. Pitchers have always sucked at hitting.
  24. I just don't get why anyone would want to keep pitchers hitting? Nothing adds up in the scenario. Pitchers average about a .300 OPS across the league. That's horrendous. It's an instant out. What purpose does that serve?
