Looking at his splits, Cain’s OBP was north of .320 against RHP in 2019 which is the figure used for this exercise. I’m not sure exactly what you’re saying though. Any player on the team could hit into a double play I guess? I provided the facts and figures over a 162 game sample. I mean sure he could hit into a double play just like Hiura, Narvaez, anybody could. Yelich could also have it where he comes up 110 times with nobody on base anyway like stated previously hitting in the two hole. The numbers account for things like double plays and fielder’s choices built into the numbers. Are you suggesting a guy like Hiura hitting second then because he strikes out at a high clip so there will be less double play opportunities? I’m not exactly following. I think he's saying we should never have a runner on first base due to the possibility of the double play. I'm saying my lasting memories from the last time Cain was in our lineup was a lot of weak balls hit at the second basemen and an OBP, no matter what arm the guy was throwing with, into the .320's. Hard pass on having that at the top of a lineup. I just don't think you'll see the Cain of old (2018) and more so see the Cain of the present.

Who doesnt want 2 good OBP guys in front of Yelich and Hiura? I don't believe in Cain's abilities moving forward against RHP. It will kill us if we think he is the player he was even two seasons ago. Heck, he might not even get on base enough against LHP but there is hope there. Give your best hitters more at bats = score more runs. This isn't hard.

I don't think we will see sacrifice bunts if that is what he is attempting to tell us here. That game is long done and over with.

If Wong gets on and Cain slaps a weak grounder at the 2B and now Yelich is up with no men on base because you've put a guy in the 2-hole that doesn't get the job done anymore against right-handed pitching.

But Hiura hit in the 2-hole the last time Yelich was in the 3-hole so that doesn't really bold well for your theory on lineup construction. Counsell is overthinking it if he doesn't bat Yelich 2 against righties and 3 or 4 against lefties.

I don't think Wong leads off against LH pitching so the splitting of lefties shouldn't matter too much. vs. LHP 1. Cain 2. Yelich 3. Hiura vs. RHP 1. Wong 2. Yelich 3. Hiura Rinse and repeat.

I would think if the Brewers said no carry-ins but we are adopting the Falcons pricing, people wouldn't gripe much. I agree that the food is just too damn overpriced. It doesn't need to be that way. With what Milwaukee offers for people going to the games this could be a major win. I wish we had a beat writer that would ask about something like this...

I think sometimes stats don't tell the entire story when it comes to role players. It is harder to be one, that's for sure. Always going from position to position, never knowing where you'll hit in the lineup or if you will even hit for days. Hernan played an important role on some very good teams in our history. -

I would be interested in a breakdown of which games he did. The opponent they played obviously matters with that scenario.

If Gyorko could play an OF spot, he’d make some sense. I doubt Hiura leaves the field much so just not much for at bats at 1B.
