  1. Hey guys and gals, I've been informed that our two Terrace Box 421 row 5 seats for Friday September 18th will be going unused. If anybody wishes to have them, please respond below. I've also got a preferred parking pass for this game, too. You can have that too, I guess. I can't check this forum until this evening so I'll pick a random person that responds and wants these tickets and parking pass. If you wish to make an offer for the tickets and pass, you'll get 10 times as many ping-pong balls as the others; otherwise, I'm offering it all for free. Take care and Go Brewers!
  2. I'm just waiting to hear King Albert's reactions tomorrow. Or Court Jester LaRussa's. I thought it was great but I'm sure there will be many national pundits (ESPN, MLB, newspapers, etc.) that don't like it one bit and will let everyone and their dog know what they think. At least this isn't the NFL. Prince would be fined for sure. I also love how Macha was right there by the group of guys and when they all fell down, he had a smile on his face and laughed but also had the look of, "Oh, crud. I look like a moron now, since I didn't know they were going to do this."
  3. great ooggly booggly this game has been loooooooonnnnnnnnnnngggggggg. I can't believe we have 2 runs when we've been walked 9 times.
  4. cherries are one of the healthiest fruits that you can eat, or so I've heard. I love 'em. Of course, if you pour whiskey over them and let them sit for several months in the fridge, one might beg to differ.
  5. hmm, Vargas against Pujols? Can this possibly end well? Hope so . . .
  6. I concur with you. But, wow, what a sorry group of ROY candidates. Nobody has just been outstanding. Pablo Sandoval would win hands down had he not had too many at-bats last year.
  7. I've been looking at it almost nightly with my binoculars (still don't have a telescope). I'll have to check this out on Quick Pitch, if I get a chance. Anybody able to do a screen capture?
  8. It reminds me of imputing the "Big Heads" code on some of those 90s sports video games.
  9. My first thought was Richard Marx "Right Here Waiting" or "Hold onto the Night" but I highly doubt it.
  10. correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Zach Greinke up with the Royals at age 21-22 and pitched mediocre to below average, then had his "episode" of depression or whatever it was? Sure, he's flourishing now at age 26 (?) but he was around for a few years prior.
  11. just gotta say that the site linked is awesome. I spent my lunch hour just looking through all the topics that have a quiz. And not just sports, either. I could spend a month on that site and not do all the quizzes.
  12. yep, we're getting the smoke here in NW Arizona, too. They even kept all student indoors yesterday (no recess) due to the poor air quality.
  13. living in Arizona = awesome weather year round. living in Arizona at Christmas time = suckitude, since you're always the one to spend big money on airfare for family get-togethers. (this also applies to weddings, funerals, and reunions.)
  14. Darn, I was hoping you'd say "both." HEY, EVERYBODY! STEVO IS A TRAITOR! HE DOESN'T WANT THE BREWERS TO WIN 10 IN A ROW!!!! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  15. which one? The holding back of Gallardo or the winning 10 in a row?
  16. I got 75. I, too, can't believe I missed some of the ones I did. When I typed in Eckersley, though, it didn't take it. I probably typed it without the final "e" so it utterly confused me that he wasn't on the list. Fun game.
  17. I kept a dream diary for a year in 2005. Some wacky, weird dreams were remembered quite vividly, even to this day. Others disappeared from memory as soon as I wrote them down. It's a good read every now and then. I don't know what it has done for me but I recommend writing a diary about the dreams. Do it as soon as possible after you wake up--even in the middle of the night, if possible.
  18. I had never seen that play before. Probably because it was a Nats-Reds game and ESPN didn't cover it at all. Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
  19. very nice job of bringing those comments back to the forefront of the discussion. Very interesting to read the comments.
  20. I see. I read your original post as if you didn't understand why he did that and that's why it was classified as a "habit." I kind of figured you knew about the gloves thing, but one never knows what others know on the internet. My apologies.
  21. tons of players run the bases with their batting gloves in their hands. It helps prevent finger injuries when sliding into bases, in theory.
  22. Which right is that, again? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif My wife and I have been to Denver a couple of times. Good to hear that you're planning on going to the zoo. It's a very nice zoo and easy to get to/get around. Your son will likely be bored going up to the mountains, but the trip to Estes Park is worth it. Go up to Loveland and take the road into Estes Park from there. You drive right through the Big Thompson Canyon, which is very scenic. There are kids things to do in Estes Park (go-carts, etc.) but it's mostly a tourist/vacationer area for adults, although I've seen many families up there during the five times we've been there (we honeymooned there.) Don't be surprised if there is snow on the ground in late September. But you'll likely see a bunch of elk and other animals.
  23. true, but a new battery should not lose it's charge in three weeks.
  24. I had the same problem about 2 years ago. Took it to the dealership, told them the problem and how I believed it was the alternator. They did diagnostics, etc. and determined it was just a bad battery. So they put a new one in. Guess what? Three weeks later, the new battery was dead. After spending $250 to have them tell me I was wrong about the alternator, I decided it wasn't worth going in again to tell them they were wrong. So, we just jump start the car whenever we need to use it and have jumper cables in the vehicle at all times. (this is our 2nd car, not the main one, by the way.) Dealerships listen to the customer about as well as 3-year old kids that have learned where the cookies are kept.
  25. Cameron just a bit too eager on strike three there. Or else, badly fooled. Regardless, he looked pretty bad.
