  1. Or is it that there is no one close to meeting his demands Could be, none of us know for certain but when you hear quotes of Stearns knowing his next move and multiple reporters saying significant progression has taken place you shouldn't be worried just yet.
  2. ‏@Ken_Rosenthal Sources: #Brewers re-engaged #Mets today on Lucroy. Discussions continuing. No indication that deal is close. Stearns exhausting every avenue, love it
  3. Which is exactly why they should trade for Lucroy, because he is an immediate upgrade and cheap next year.
  4. I put this in the Lucroy thread...deserves to be here as well @Haudricourt "Stearns agreed that he knows what his next move will be but not what other GM’s will be, which keeps it interesting. Always one call away." Reading into this can we all just calm down on Stearns squandering Lucroy as an asset. Can we stop panicking like its the night of August 1st with no trades.
  5. If you are the Braves and you do plan on having a Padre or Marlin spending spree off-season to open up thee new ball park. Lucroy would make sense because they definitely aren't getting a shot at him this off-season if he goes to a contender this next week. A. It only helps us if they really are interested B. I would find it absolutely hilarious for him to go the Braves after all of his public outcry to play for a contender

  7. Frazier for me, younger, less K's, has a little bit more time to grow into power potential. Even if he is subject to corner outfield duty I still prefer him over Zimmer. But if I'm Cleveland he's untouchable.
  8. Outlander is correct, if you get a job in Wisconsin maybe be very aggressive on your WI withholding when filling out your W-4 for this next 5 months as in claiming a lot of dependents depending on how hefty the severance was. You will have to have a part year resident for both states anyway, so don't fret on getting double taxed or anything. -Senior Level Account, 5 years of tax experience PM me if you need anything, can always ask my shareholders.
  9. Don't hate the pick, don't love it. I will be more optimistic if he can stick in CF. Those stolen base totals are impressive to say the least.

  11. Where is the outcry over large market teams spending on the international market? I know they have penalties and teams can't hit up the international market for a couple years but it is still unjust. How is it fair that a 19 year old Yoan Moncada gets over $30 Million? And that the Red Sox can eat another $30 Million in penalties. That blows team's entire draft pools out of the water.... Seems like a way bigger problem to me than a couple NL teams rebuilding/tanking....
  12. Also the National League landscape has to play a factor.... Phillies Braves Reds Brewers Rockies Padres Are all likely going to have rough years which is going to make it hard for anyone of those teams to lose 100 games, if the Brewers were in the highly competitive AL I would think it would be more possible.
  13. Hmmmmm, i think that the vast majority here are plenty fine with the idea of letting Santana get his chance to play pretty much everyday, whether he ends up in LF or RF. Hmmmmm, maybe if you continue reading.... Last time I checked anoint and opportunity are two different things
  14. I know people don't want to anoint Santana as a capable replacement at this exact moment. That is fine neither do I, but I am not worried because we have Phillips, Clark, Harrison, Coulter, Taylor, Orimoloye, Reed, Roache, Broxton, Flores, and Liriano. I am sure somewhere in there we will find our center fielder and other corner outfielder. We dealt from a position of strength and we need to see what Santana's got full time at the major league level. Nottingham is no sure thing, prospects never are. But have to love when you read he has an opposite field approach especially for a guy his size. I get the passed ball rate is concerning but I don't put a life or death stock into it considering 12 of the 19 he had last year came after he switched organizations mid season. That cannot be easy on a 20 year old catcher who's still trying to refine his defensive game. I for one am glad Stearns is dealing from a position of strength for a position of weakness even if it is risky. I am also glad the team isn't forced to draft a catcher high in the draft. You know your organization had some bad depth at a position when a 24 year old at A ball in Carlos Leal was your #1 catching prospect and didn't even crack the fans top 25.
  15. I agree I am sick of politically correct answers from athletes all the time, he was honest and candid just like he was last year on his weekly radio interviews with WSSP which he said then he doesn't want to be around losing. We all just have to be patient, Lucroy will be traded at some point as he won't sign an extension with the Brewers, if I were a GM and my catching situation stunk mid-season I would have no problem trading for a catcher that has an OPS in the mid 700's. The notion that he can't be moved midseason seems like nonsense to me.
  16. I think a big kicker is Diaz is a guy Montgomery drafted while with the Dbacks
  17. 1)Orlando Arcia 2)Jimmy Nelson 3)Jonathan Lucroy 4)Will Smith 5)Khris Davis 6)Ryan Braun 7)Jeremy Jeffress 8)Wily Peralta 9)Jorge Lopez 10)Domingo Santana
  18. Clark was in their post season Top 100 in the 80s if I remember correctly. Would see no reason for him to fall out.
  19. Can't you use a VPN app to get the games in market? I do it with College Basketball...for whatever reason the black out UWM games
  20. Twins C-Jonathan Lucroy LHP-Will Smith/RHP-Jeremy Jeffress Brewers LHP-Tyler Jay 1B-Max Kepler C-Stuart Turner RHP-Fernando Romero (Coming of TJ) Not a scout, just looking at our weaknesses position wise in the system C/1B. I assume one of or both Lara and Gatewood will be moving to 3B.
  21. It is kind of risky because he is such a hot and cold hitter. The longer Cespedes, Gordon, and Upton aren't signed, Davis remains an unattractive option. Has to be a small market AL team out there that needs a LF/DH, right?
  22. The issue is the National League teams have really drawn a line in the sand for trying to win or not. Giants, DBacks, Dodgers, Cardinals, Pirates, Cubs, Mets, and Nats, are trying to win. While... Rockies, Padres, Brewers, Reds, Marlins, Braves, and Phillies, are all not going anywhere. Whereas the AL is way more competitive and a lot of the teams have chances to win their respective divisions. I really do wonder the plan on when Arcia, Phillips, Hader, and Lopez become regulars as long as they keep progressing obviously. Because they are the first substantial wave of the rebuild.
  23. Agreed worst case scenario you get a 1st round draft pick.....highly doubt it comes to that, but the thought remains at least get a 1st Round value of a prospect. This of course should only arise 2017 deadline.
  24. Signing Pedro Alvarez is exactly like signing Mark Reynolds.....like I said he has no value to rebuild especially if you watch him play defense at 1B. Like you stated, revive a prospect sounds better especially when weighing costs, especially if you don't have to give up a lot of assets to try to revive one and considering we are at practically ground zero of the rebuild.
