  1. 10 game road trip. Looks like only 2 Lefties taking the mound and 1 of them is Madison Bumgarner. Looks like 3 more series wins to me.
  2. Kinda depends who the other team traded to us which wasn't added the true target. In a vacuum, the team has 3 stud starters right now. If trading Chourio that should be for someone batting that will be feared in the 2-4 lineup spot. But as I said earlier, why are we trading Chourio vs the other 3 OFs? He's a win now value for someone that has to be great right now. Perennial All Star. Who's not a hindrance to the payroll.
  3. The ultimate FU to Rodgers would be taking a WR at 15 a year after trading up in 2nd to draft him Watson. Nate-Is there something about Karl Brooks that you drafted him twice? Bowling Green isn't exactly a football powerhouse. Your first draft also took 3Edge rushers and a DL. Did you intend to do that? Think the Jets trade mock is best mix played out of the 2 mocks.
  4. Small sample that sits at 50pct today. Savant list at 0 barrels, 87.5MPH exit velocity by far lowest for him. And somehow he's at an 8.7 launch angle. Which would be great for him if the EV was above 91 like typical. Anyway, our RH lineup vs the LH starter netted 7 scoreless innings of 4 hit ball and 9ks. Gotta wonder if the platoon lineups the last 3 years+ that have failed needs to adjust allowing an extra 1 or 2 LH bats facing the SP. Overlook stats since you've gotten to an Era where LHb face LH RPs more often than seeing LH SP.
  5. Wallus sure. But you're talking the 1st ever #1 Brewers prospect and ignore the probability the Front office would never trade such a player. RHB to mix with all these LHBs. A comp to players that are succeeding as generational talents. Rodriquez is the only player I can think of who is this comp that has team control and just happens to be 2years ahead of Chourio's timeline but a year older to start. He's at least signed to a deal beyond 6years team control. So it's not like losing the 6-7 seasons you would control Chourio. But then again, Seattle scored just 8years of team control while paying the man 120mil guaranteed. So more than one would think to extend a player 1 season beyond the 6.171 service time, and take on all the risk. Our window is 2 years with the current pitching. Chourio appears to be 2 years too late for the team window. As the probability is high they will trade Woodruff or Burnes before playoffs next season.
  6. Related to lineup topic so just putting in this thread. I noticed yesterday Donavan of the Cards who took 3rd in NL for rookie of the year batting leadoff. So the question considering the rookies starts thus far I had was how many games did it take Donavan to break in to that role atop the lineup. Based off of batting lineups last year, 8 games started. Then he cracked #2 followed 1st and 2 more 2nds. A month later he was secured with a top 2 in lineup almost regularly. Brice Turang is on the Donavan bb/k trail with BA/OB trail now through 5 starts. What game will it be before we see him in top 3 of lineup and Yelich in bottom half of lineup? Not only does Yelich lead the team in Ks, but Gidp with 2(1 more than XBHs). While leading the team in BBs! It doesn't need to be a permanent season thing, but when does Yelich get dropped to bottom of order or 7-9 really? At least for a few games testing a better leadoff batter by way of BA and Slg and ability to not strike out. Donavan was a 3rd week callup, didn't break camp opening day. (Service manipulation) Think that's impressive to be able to then crack atop the order 8 starts later in front of Goldy and Arenado. We're 26ABs in and only one ball hit by Yelich(his double) has gotten further than a base OF defense positioning. He shouldn't be the one getting 5 PAs in a game right now. He needs to be the one who will only get 4.
  7. Someone will likely go on IL when needed, like Yeli. With Taylor having a setback pushing that return time line further, it's hard to believe position players will make 3weeks without an injury. Someone getting hit by a pitch is bound to happen.
  8. In a Heartbeat they would. Imagine Giolitos value decreases after 81 more games.
  9. Why do this? #1 prospect. Nobody. The question is who of Weimer, Mitchell, and Frelick are you trading. That's going to happen to create a spot on roster for him in OF. Every game that passes with Frelick in the minors, after this road trip, I assume it will be him. Chourio is like the Brewers franchise version to the Bucks with Giannis now in his 2nd season. Obscure. Hits the ground running. Accolade on talent. Why trade him for a star with a large contract? Like for a second I thought about Julio Rodriguez but basically that's just Chourio 2 seasons earlier. Ugh, now I suppose being in win now that is who I'd trade him for. I'd send Seattle anyone else they asked for with Yelich and make extending Woodruff or Burnes with the money opened up long term.
  10. 8 mil to another to top 3 picks. Looks like an easy college sign below slot and then use 2nd or 3rd pick on a HS overslot to draft pick value.
  11. Just seen video on the Machado pitch clock incident to strike out and then getting ejected. I dont know what he was doing but definitely deserved having strike 3 violation called on him. Now of course you'd expect a batter to mince words with the ump as Machado did. That interaction was quite mild almost feel like Machado put his hand out(the calm down kind) near end and appear to say I know you're doing your job. Or it's okay you're etc. He proceeds on and ump tosses him as manager arrives. That's bs to me on the ump. Just makes the pitch clock rules look bad as it not only affected the AB, but now a top tier player in baseball is ejected for it. MLB needs to reprimand that ump on the quick hook. 1st inning 3rd out of the inning. That's such trash. I hope the umps don't continue ruining the pitch clock. JT Realmuto was thrown out the other day. 2 extremely poor Elections that I'm aware of in 5 days.
  12. Welcome Day 1 of many division leading! B2B2B HRs. B2B HRs inning later. B2B Shutouts of the Mets. On B2B 4/4 day!
  13. Looks like either of the(projecting] 2nd rd picks paired with the 3rd would be high enough to trade back in to the 1st rd for like 27-31. And still keep 1 of the 2nds. More likely you see the 4th and highest 2nd trade up to early-mid thirties and get one of those overnight 1st rd talents who had fallen. Guess you're sorta looking at do you want that 5th yr player option or just stick with the 4. Would be nice for the Rodgers trade to get completed already make a pre-draft easier to guess.
  14. Takeaway. Imagine that Burnes in the run for Cy Young carries a final ERA just above who actually wins it. Opening day Adames' errors (charged and mental) cost him 2 earned runs today. Or I dunno let's see Burnes be a 4ERA guy and close the season a below 2 ERA guy to not be a reason they didn't make the playoffs. The ump pushed the bats to swing at balls since early he was calling low or outside the zone strikes. Same deal last year the ump called in Cubs favor. Let's see a fair zone and what our bats will do today.
  15. Predictions. Well 93-69 1st in division. MVP Woodruff but Mitchell gets votes towards it. We're in for a great season that will make the 2023-24 offseason difficult to navigate.
  16. Well that confirms my question what team would claim him to be on their OD roster. Nobody. Now we wait and hope he does something strong in AAA to get at least some RP type return to move on fully from him.
  17. Here's something that should be tossed at the Jets side. Aaron Rodgers value in 2022 was higher than any season value [according to profootball reference) the NYJets received after spending on 1st rd QBs in the 2000s. At #s 2, 3, 5, and 18 with their best drafted QB Chad Pennington. 13 should be easy to pay for Rodgers production theyve never had while spending higher draft capitol trying to attain.
  18. Yeah wasn't a response on your 2 2nds post just in general. Wouldn't the timeline of Rodgers announcement, trade negotiations and GB desire for a 1st and then the Jets moving their WR and 3rd to get a 2nd back kinda hint that instead of a 2nd and 3rd vs the 1st rd pick the Jets improved their offer to be 2 2nds to keep the 1st? Yet I don't see this floated around in rumors when I thought a 2nd and 3rd was a quick rumor when Rodgers came out he intended to play for the Jets. One thing I'm noticing MSM is loaded with Jet fans, ESPN Radio you'll hear and I'm a Jets fan or know like Greeny is a huge Jets fan. Their opinion is going to favor the trade in the Jets side. So much so you hear them offering just a 3rd because they have "leverage" now. Which the Jets don't have one to trade.
  19. Wheres any rumor that the Jets are willing to part with both 2nd round picks instead of their first? Trade value wise it's about 200pts less than the 13th on its own. Whichever the two options 1 or both 2nds, just throw in #170 to move the needle just a smidge towards the Jets.
  20. But Frelick is the 1 who can win a draft pick back. Serious question, which team out there is trading for Hiura to add to their 26man OD? He's waiver wire material at this moment is he not? Going to be passed around for a few weeks before clearing waivers to be put in that team's AAA. The Phillies have a better performing player I believe named Hall to play 1b. If he is traded it has to be ptnl or cash.
  21. Couldn't you have just combined this with your other article that said Tellez and Urias playing big game tonight. Personally despise the way Articles are spamming the forum talk. Why don't we have just an Articles forum to separate the Brewers baseball talk forum? What's the most an Article has had for comments after? 2nd page?
  22. It's a fairly straight forward 4man rotation of Burnes, Woodruff, Peralta, and Miley. The 5th spot is likely destined for Ashby. I'd assume #5 goes towards a Lauer/Houser mix as you don't really see over 3-4IP the season's 1st start.
  23. Interesting thought. Packers could be waiting on the 1st this season for its value or holding out til past the 2023 draft with a 1st rd ask for 2024 which odds are higher that it would be later in 1st but still a 1st rd pick vs a 2nd and conditional. Now is the 2024 draft stronger in terms of top talent? Or stronger in depth than the 2023 draft talent. I'd assume this must be the last season where 2020 affects the depth that the draft may hold because players being awarded an extra year of eligibility. Or would that be 2024 where it ends?
  24. I'm a bit surprised you would throw out the if he starts stinking like Russell Wilson part. Jackson is 26. If he's looking for guaranteed contract, it is going to cost him in years total a contract is given. 6years? 5? I'd have a hard time seeing a team wanting to guarantee beyond 4-5 years to anybody but at 26 Jackson for a productive to MVP QB, seems like one who could get 6years. At 26, 6 years takes him to age 32. Wilson's poor season just came at age 34. Are the Jets the team to do this? They probably should as a Franchise. I'm thinking they want Rodgers to come in be good for a year. Pass on something towards Zach Wilson, like he must have to Love. After all, GB is pushing away Rodgers ready to start Love at QB. Then see where they are at a year later with Rodgers and Wilson. Jets would be forced to consider entering his 4th season then to pick up the 5th year option. It's a tough pill to swallow on your #2 QB selection to commit full moving on option Jackson would be.
  25. By enough picks you mean future picks? They only have 1 pick each round 1 through 6 and no 7th. The total value doesn't even exceed just the #3 pick in the draft. Nice to hear we signed a FA Safety. Amos turned out as a good FA sign. New blood there is needed.
