  1. Of course he's gonna say that. He's not gonna admit he's not doing anything and getting paid for it.
  2. They can just sign one of the closers available.
  3. As much as I wanted to pair up with LA on a Hader deal, I also wouldn't be too upset to see them go out and get Hand to go along with their Treinen signing. Having one team eat up a couple of these high end guys, should then just help more teams remain in the market for high-end relief help as the winter goes along. Also, as someone else stated - maybe it forces the Padres to then make a run at Hader? Padres can just resign Yates... Which they have interest in doing.
  4. Yea Dodgers wont be acquiring Hader... They have entered the Brad Hand sweepstakes.
  5. We won't make moves until February after all the top/middle tier FAs are gone... Bargin bin shopping like last year.
  6. Agreed. No reason to trade Hader, build the staff around Woody, Burnes, Williams and Hader.
  7. Well another Hader team probably out.... Dodgers re-signed Blake Treinen to 2 yr deal. Totally fine, just keep Hader.
  8. I don't really want to see Urias as our everyday third baseman, so I hope they make a move to find a solid third baseman. That would allow for Stearns to trade one of Arcia, Hiura or Urias. Arcia is the "easy" option of the three, but he'd also have the least return. I'm warming to the idea of trading Hiura for a "monster" return and going with the solid defense of Arcia at SS and Urias at 2B (his natural position). I think Vogelbach's bat should be average or above for a MLB 1b, and his bad defense at 1B would be a little less troublesome if we had good defenders at the other three infield positions, or possibly a good first baseman could be part of the return for Hiura. Like you mentioned, our biggest offensive "upgrade" is going to have to be simple... the good hitters on the team have to hit. If Yelich, Garcia, Narvaez, etc hit like they did in 2020, our offense will not be good regardless of other moves we make. We need to build this offense around Yelich and Hiura... If we trade Hiura, teams will have no reason to pitch to Yeli then.
  9. Because Vogelbach can't/shouldn't be our 1B in 2021, if we want to compete. Although, I would put Candelario at 3B.
  10. Agreed, neither have a reason to trade more prospects for Hader when Hand, Hendricks, etc are out there to sign.
  11. or bring back Brad Hand.... Agreed, there's plenty of closers available to sign. I guess I just don't see them giving up more prospects for Hader.
  12. Hoyer says the shopping of Contreras is fictional.
  13. I dont see why the Padres wouldnt just re-sign Yates.
  14. Hader for Cronenworth, Morejon, and whichever of Abrams/Capusano/Hassell you like best? A bat that plays right away, a top 100 guy, and a really interesting young arm. Cronenworth and Morejon seem a bit displaced by the moves yesterday, so it might be an opportunity to buy at the right time on them. I guess Cronenworth isnt moving off of 2B... Im guessing Kim will be utility player or play matchups to get him in the lineup.
  15. Wow....... Darvish deal could be expanded to include one of Willson Contreras or Victor Caratini.
  16. [sarcasm]I feel like the Padres have went "all-in" before.[/sarcasm]
  17. I really wouldnt mind making a deal with Tigers for Candelario... Tigers dont have a spot for him with Paredes taking over at 3rd and I'm sure Spencer won't be in AAA long. Switch hitter who can play 3rd or 1st... I would put him at 3rd though. Maybe something like Lutz and Zach Brown get it done.
  18. Damn, I saw that Roberto Ramos re-signed with KBO team. I would have loved to bring him back to US on like a 2 or 3 yr deal to have him play 1B... Big kid 6'4", lefty, turns 27 next week. He had a nice 2019 AAA and 2020 KBO season.
  19. Definitely agree, never switching from it... I'm sure we'll have the Brewers back come spring. We're not the only people affected by this, anyone else around the US with YTTV and if their team is on Fox Sports is in the same place as us.
  20. My god I would love Gallo at 1B. Man, he would hit 50+ playing half at AmFam Field.
  21. It's been boring that last couple winters before this as well. I don't know, the off season we signed Moose and Grandal was pretty cool... Year before that it was Yelich and Cain... I agree on that, I was merely talking as a whole... Very, very slow moving.
  22. Surprised Lutz was left off BA's top 10... Did I miss something on him? I was looking forward to Yelich-Mitchell-Lutz for years to come.
  23. It's been boring that last couple winters before this as well.
  24. Just keep throwing **** at the wall... SMFH
  25. Nope, we just keep dumpster diving... Signed Hoby Milner and Dylan Cozens to MiLB deals. Just throwing **** at the wall and seeing what sticks.
