  1. Looks like he ended up throwing 91 pitches over 6 frames, so a nice bounce back after that first. Also looks like Turang is getting into his power stroke with his 2nd HR in as many days.
  2. After 20 games last year Renfroe was hitting 188/250/313. He finished the year at 259/313/501. 72 PAs is a negligible sample size with minimal predictive power.
  3. Woodruff is interesting because he isn’t set to hit FA until after his age 31 season, which probably limits him to like a 4 to 5 year deal tops through his age 35/36 seasons. I wouldn’t say it makes him signing an extension before FA likely, but I do think Woody would give the most consideration to a fair offer out of him, Burnes (younger/better) & Hader (closer to FA/could set closer $$ record).
  4. Looks like everybody that has wanted a run/defense heavy team might finally be getting their wish.
  5. Rams don’t have any picks so they have to bring out Andrew Whitworth for our pick ?
  6. Not sure what historical data looks like, but Spotrac has 15 of 25 picks so far age 21. Other ten are 20 (x3), 22 (x6) and 23 (x1).
  7. Antonio Pinero, Weston Wilson (AGAIN!!) and…(drumroll please)…brbrbrbrbrrbr…Jon Singleton also got in on going yard action this evening.
  8. Bucky Brooks said the picture Berry has for Quay Walker is Derrick Brooks
  9. Castaneda with a clean start too… 5.1 IP | 0 ER | 3 H | 2 BB | 5 K
  10. Another Knarr-ly start for Brandon… 6.0 IP | 0 ER | 2 H | 1 BB | 7 K
  11. Strikeouts are actually down slightly so far this year (23.1 K%) vs April of last year (23.8 K%). HR/FB% on the other hand is waaay down this year (10.0%) vs last April (13.4%). Which has really cut into SLG & R/G where AVG/OBP are only down slightly… Apr 21: 238/313/397 (4.26 R/G) Apr 22: 231/307/369 (4.04 R/G) Offense typically heats up with the weather & 2021 ended up at 247/321/418 (4.53 R/G) with a 22.6 K%, will be interesting to see if the humidor/new ball combo cuts into those gains somewhat this summer.
  12. No doubt, his skill level changed in addition to his role & maybe if he was used similarly to 2018/19 in 2021 he would have provided more value, or maybe he would have been more fatigued with additional usage & the bottom line results would have suffered as a result. Hader's +5.05 WPA in 2021 was tops in all of MLB, not just among relievers but all pitchers. There is a lot more room for his performance to decrease with a role change than there is for it to improve.
  13. Hader 2018: 81 IP | 60 ERA- | 54 FIP- | 2.6 rWAR | +3.30 WPA Hader 2019: 75 IP | 59 ERA- | 69 FIP- | 2.8 rWAR | +3.15 WPA Hader 2021: 58 IP | 29 ERA- | 39 FIP- | 3.4 rWAR | +5.05 WPA I've got no problem with using Hader in the traditional closer's role. He provided more value in fewer innings in 2021 than he did with his fireman role in 2018/19.
  14. Even if he stays hot, gotta think Wiemer is looking at minimum 6-8 weeks each in AA & AAA. Maybe he gets a late season call, but that will depend on factors beside just his performance too. Then again he’s been blowing away expectations for almost a year now so I’m not betting against it either.
  15. Yeah, the Heat & to a lesser extent the 76ers (or please let the Raptors through) are solid teams, but I feel like Celtics vs Bucks will be the “real” ECF kind of like Nets vs Bucks was last year.
  16. Doubt Ashby is going anywhere. Even with an ugly WHIP the runs aren't scoring (3.18 ERA) and he hasn't really had a notable impact on wins/losses (-0.04 WPA). I think the Brewers brass will give their top pitching prospect more than 11 innings before making any kind of move this year.
  17. Out of Burnes, Woodruff and Hader, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Josh is the one who is kept just because even as thee best reliever in the game he will still likely be cheaper to extend or in FA than Corbin/Brandon. My favorite Hader stat is that since 2017 he has the 3rd highest Win Probability Added in MLB. Not among relievers, among all pitchers. Only Scherzer and deGrom are higher & depending on how long Jacob (+15.81 WPA) is injured, Josh (+14.49 WPA) could pass him this year too.

  21. He's also listed as the starter on BRef. Looks like Peters has been lights out to start they year, 10 IP | 8 K | 4 BB | 1 H | 0 ER in five relief appearances. Might be kind of an opener situation where Dillon goes a couple two tree innings then hands it over.
  22. Harden is pretty much cooked & eligible for an insane supermax after this year at like 50 million per which Philly likely has no choice but to give him. He's more or less Westbrook in waiting, but at least with a little higher skill level to fall back on. If Simmons ever gets back on the floor he's a pretty good fit in theory next to KD/Kyrie. His defense/rebounding is much more useful than the corpse of Blake Griffin or the KD with 4 point guard lineups they had out there at points. Even if the Bucks repeat with a 4 game sweep in the Finals I won't be surprised at all when the media declares the Nets the East favorites next year.
  23. It really is a unique beast. For as much as MLB draft coverage has improved over the years it still pales in comparison to the NFL Draft Industry & the NBA draft is a measly two rounds, whoopee. Going in blind (outside of the tidbits I get here) makes it kinda like a treasure hunt, plus the constant booing of Goodell always feels nice.
