  1. Probably one of Peguero or Hudson. Elvis has five straight zeroes in his game log even if he is still walking too many guys over that stretch with 4 BB vs 5 K in 6 IP. Last pitched 0507. Hudson was clean in his first three Nasvhille outings (4 K vs 0 BB in 3 IP) before getting roughed up for 3 ER on 0504 and not pitching since. Of the other 40 Man options Henderson just threw 4 IP last night, Yoho just got sent down, don't think they'd want to pull Misio or Carlos Rodriguez from the rotation, and everybody else is hurt. Maybe Easton McGee has been the best of the non-40 Man relievers, but not sure he's done enough to warrant the other roster finagling it would take to add him versus Elvis or Hudson.
  2. Renz gave up the lone run of the game in the fourth on back to back doubles, but put in a solid effort overall with 5 IP | 6 H | 1 BB | 4 K. Ortuno, Ereu, Fielder coming up top of nine trying to put a run (or two) on the board.
  3. Garrett Spain says ADIOS for the fourth time this year, 4-1 Shuckers bottom four. Now they’ve got two on, one out with a Luke Adams walk and Luis Lara double (his 2nd of the game and 3rd of the night).
  4. Craig Yoho gets the call to close things out and answers with three up three down (1 K) to seal the 4-1 Sounds win.
  5. Mendoza settling in nicely retiring eight straight since that first inning RBI double.
  6. Leadoff home run to open the 8th, but Logan bounces back and gets three straight first pitch outs. Still only 60 pitches, could probably come back for the ninth.
  7. Patricio Aquino puts up two scoreless (1 BB | 2 K) to nail down the 3-2 TRats win.
  8. Three scoreless so far (52 pitches, 33 strikes) for Logan with 3 H | 5 K.
  9. Spain fouls off a trio of two strike pitches before notching the RBI single, 3-1 Biloxi.
  10. Biloxi answers back with RBI singles from Brock Wilken and Darrien Miller in the bottom half. & Ethan Murray walks to load the bases for Garrett Spain, prompting a mound visit & pitching change.
  11. DL Hall came back out for one more 1-2-3 inning with two more strikeouts. Tyler Renz on in relief bottom four in a still scoreless game.
  12. TRats have put three runs on the board highlighted by a Blake Burke RBI triple. Bishop Letson finished with 5.2 IP | 2 R (1 ER) | 3 H | 3 BB | 1 HBP | 4 K. Zach Peek has recorded three of his four outs by strikeout with a single and walk mixed in.
  13. Shuckers went final 10-0 to take the first game, but have fallen behind early in game two with Abdiel Mendoza giving up a single, walk, and RBI double. Biloxi lineup for the nightcap is… Luke Adams 3B Luis Lara CF Cooper Pratt SS Brock Wilken DH Zavier Warren 1B Darrien Miller C Ethan Murray 2B Garrett Spain RF Jheremy Vargas LF
  14. Lineup for the Zona Crew tonight with DL Hall rehabbing on the complex… Jorge Quintana 3B Handelfry Encarnacion CF Luis Corobo DH Kevin Garcia C Juan Ortuno SS Kevin Ereu 2B Jadyn Fielder LF Frederi Montero 1B Pedro Ibarguen RF Hall gave up a leadoff single but has retired six straight since, three via strikeout. Montero, Ibarguen, Quintana due up top of three in a zero zero ballgame.
  15. Aaron Civale went four scoreless of 1 H | 1 BB | 3 K work in his rehab start with Logan Henderson taking the mound for the fifth. Jared Oliva had a two RBI triple and scored on an errant throw to make it 4-0 NASH.
  16. Yeah, quick and dirty I got around a 27K average for the first 19 home games of 2024. Attendance doesn’t pick up until schools out and the weather is nicer.
  17. There we go, 4-3 groundout for the fifth out of the inning to secure the 5-4 Zona Crew victory.
  18. Uncorks a run scoring wild pitch to the first batter, but gets the strikeout for the second out. Quintana’s second error of the game brought two more runs around, 5-4 ballgame. Stolen base and a walk has runners on 1st & 2nd two down, mound visit.
  19. Ninth inning has been a little more adventurous with a pair of singles, an E4, an HBP and a walk adding up to one run in, bases loaded and one out. Argenis Aparicio on to try and get the last two outs.
  20. Wenderlyn King worked around a pair of two out singles to put up a zero in the 7th. A walk and E6 put runners on the corners no outs in the 8th but a pop out and 6-4-3 DP got him out of the jam.
  21. & they did! Jesus Flores (3.2 IP | 3 H | 1 BB | 3 K) and Jack Seppings (3.1 IP | 1 H | 1 BB | 4 K) followed Meccage's early exit to combine on the shutout. Lone Carolina run came on a Bitonti HBP followed by a Luis Pena double.
  22. Yeah, last year their 86 wRC+ was 28th in MLB. This year they have a 79 wRC+ so far which is 29th, saved only by the Rockies and their wait for it...60 wRC+. For context, Zach Greinke has a career 59 wRC+. Woody is at a 63 wRC+ and that doesn't even include his NLCS bomb off Kershaw. Skenes has even slipped a little from a 46 ERA- | 61 FIP- last year to 65 ERA- | 75 FIP- to start this year, not that he or anyone else should be expected to keep up those rookie numbers over a full season. Insane to think he was just a tick behind 2008 CC at 39 ERA- | 56 FIP-.
  23. Not sure I’d be in any hurry to promote Wilken. The power surge has been nice, but his unsustainable walk rate is majorly juicing his overall line with a .205 batting average and 26% K rate under the hood. I’d guess they’ll want to see him make some progress on the hit tool before promoting him.
  24. Haha, definitely used the quotes because I know it’s a hotly contested topic. But I would agree that Daurys did not actually strike out the side in his inning. I also think the leadoff hitter has to hit twice in the inning to bat around. Nine hitters coming to the plate is just batting thru.
  25. If I counted right, 28 of the Brewers next 37 games between now and the next Cubs series on June 17 are against teams currently .500 or worse. Three each atCLE, atPHI, and vsSDP are the exceptions. Thinking they’ll need to go something like 22 W - 15 L over this stretch if they want to put themselves in a position to be players in the second half.
