TRats surrender two in the top half and can’t get em back this time falling 8-6 in eleven. -
Most games under .500 by season per BREF… 2017 (3) 2018 (1) 2019 (never under .500) 2020 (4) 2021 (2) 2022 (2) 2023 (1) 2024 (never under .500) Looks like Cory was right. So we’re about eight years overdue for a stretch like this.

Blayberg Diaz up with a chance to atone for his passed ball and catcher’s interference in the ninth, but he pops out. On to the eleventh.

Single and a sac fly score the Manfred Man in the top half. Guilarte pinch runs for Burke to open the TRats half and is promptly replaced at second base by Eduardo Garcia with an RBI double to tie it back up.

Jesus Broca loads the bases with an HBP but gets the third out to keep it a tie ballgame. Hedbert, Jadher, Burke due up bottom nine to try & walk it off.

EMJ groundout ends it, 10-6 Sounds loss.

Herron double, Dalbec single, EMJ walk and a Raynel Delgado single got two more back in the 8th. Freddy Zamora single and Oliver Dunn double gets another back in the ninth. Dalbec fouls off seven straight two out full count pitches before working the 13 pitch walk. Still a sliver of a chance.

No worries, Carolina answers back with a Di Turi double then singles from Walling and Nadal to get the run back.

Tanner gives up his first hit to lead off the fifth, then Baez made an error to put two on nobody out but Gillis comes back with the strikeout and 3-6-1 double play to get out with a zero.

Ashby’s made four rehab appearances so far…1.1 IP on the complex (no pitch count available) then a pair of two inning outings (41 and 34 pitches) before one inning / ten pitches his last time out. Days between appearances were 3, 3, then 2. Looks like they are prepping him for a relief role, which would be my preference too.
