  1. Ball isn’t carrying well. Unless you hit it hard.
  2. Now he says the ball really isn’t carrying tonight. That is usually followed shortly by a 450 foot HR.
  3. Levering got pretty excited about a ball that was about 10 feet short of the warning track.
  4. Considering his age he probably has to get up 3 or 4 times in the middle of the night anyway.
  5. Biggest DP threat in MLB history and Burnes hangs a slider to him.
  6. One swing counters all of the Brewers baserunners.
  7. Can’t come up with the big hit. Needed more than one out of those two innings.
  8. I didn’t think the first one was so bad, but I was half expecting the umpire to go into his Frank Drebin routine on both of those called strikes.
  9. I’ve had enough of the gushing over Wainwright and Molina. Do you think opposing announcers would do that about Brewers?
  10. Had to cash in those cheap hits. Renfroe isn’t having a good month so far. Could really use one of those hot streaks. And McCutchen missed a real meatball.
  11. Carlos Santana with a 3 run HR ups the M’s lead to 6-0 ETA- Jinx.
  12. Castillo has thrown 76 pitchers through 4 innings so the Mariners bullpen is probably going to have to cover 3 or 4 innings.
  13. In a vacuum, gaining 3 games with 20 to play is certainly attainable. If you told me today that the Brewers wouldn’t lose any ground in the next 7 games, I would probably take it. 7 games against the Cardinals, Yankees, and Mets looks tough enough , but facing it with 3 of the 6 man rotation on the IL, a 4th SP still building up from an IL stint, and the bullpen wearing down, it’s going to be even tougher. To stay afloat during this stretch, the Brewers are going to need great starts from Burnes and Woodruff and some big help from the offense like they have gotten the last two games. Looking ahead, the Brewers figure to be facing Cole on Sunday, but might miss Bassitt and deGrom, who would be pitching Saturday and Sunday if the Mets stay with their 5 day rotation. Scherzer could be coming off the IL to face the Brewers if his next bullpen session or simulated game is successful.
  14. This has to be the most improbable win of the season. Now we can look forward to the Wainwright-Molina lovefest tomorrow as they get the record for most games as a battery. Do you think the home plate ump will be giving Wainwright the outside corner?
  15. The Cardinals have been pulling out a lot of games in the last week or two with late comebacks. After scraping their way to a 3 run lead in the 8th a loss here would be tough to take. I sure don’t want to see the tying run at the plate the rest of the way.
  16. I think they excel at giving back runs immediately. ?
  17. Judge has 2 more HR tonight. He could hit his 60th here this weekend (if he doesn’t get it before then).
  18. If Topa can get through this inning the Brewers have a chance to steal an unlikely win.
  19. Phillies win 2-1 over Alcantara. Now up by 4 (de facto 5) over Brewers.
  20. With Burnes pitching tomorrow and the off day Thursday the Brewers might be able to scratch their way through these two days. But, playing 19 games in 20 days after that figures to be really ugly, and it only got worse with Bush likely headed for the IL.
  21. The chances of the Cardinals being held to single digits in this game are pretty slim.
  22. They shoot horses don’t they? Someone needs to put this team out of its misery.
  23. I’m not sure those pitchers care that much about their personal won-loss records. Their main objective is to do their job and if they do it effectively they’re going to feel pretty good about themselves. Of course, they want the team to win, and would like to get the W next to their a name, but I think they focus mainly on what they can control and compartmentalize everything else
  24. Rodgers looks like he wishes he had retired.
