  1. Your points are fair and rational. I think the Brewers, Arnold especially, do an exceptional job also of weighing ‘improving the team - at what cost?’ Milwaukee quietly identifies what it wants and acts when they believe it makes sense to act.
  2. I see merit to the White Sox finishing 2025 strong. They need to be able to win three game series eventually. Maybe Civale resigns in Chicago?
  3. Could do worse than claiming the 50th best Brewer, time and again 🤷‍♂️
  4. You may recall Hader was more upset by the perception of being overused rather than underused https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/40186833/mlb-2024-josh-hader-usage-rules-contract-brewers-astros
  5. The situation reminds me of Brady Clark. However, Clark didn’t join Milwaukee until his age 30 season. Clark didn’t get anything resembling regular at bats until his age 28 season, either. Scott Podsednik joined Brewers at age 27.
  6. You may recall Gus Verland was our rule five selection for 2023 season. Varland was claimed off waivers last season by White Sox from the Dodgers. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=varlan000gus
  7. Brandon Lockridge’s .764 OPS for Milwaukee is higher than every other bat traded at the deadline, minus Willi Castro (min 5 AB). Castro’s triple only happened due to misplay by Baltimore RF, though.
  8. McMahon 0-4 and 4K today. OPS nearly identical to Durbin. Suarez: 0-4. His Seattle OPS is now below Vinny Capra for 2025
  9. Wrigleyville would be a very sad place if they lost 2 of 3 to Baltimore Lodolo will be a tough lefty against Cubs tomorrow. Debut for Soroka, too.
  10. His first 70 played appearances in Milwaukee have been remarkable. He is still nearly a full win below replacement level on the season. Assuming he does not regress to his Chicago White Sox level of performance I think Vaughn is a great member of the team next year
  11. Rea is below replacement level entering today. Faces an even more below replacement level starter today for Baltimore. Tomorrow, Soroka makes his Cubs debut with 4.87 ERA. Soroka has potential but hasn’t been a tremendous difference maker since his age 21 season back in 2019.
  12. For Miz, there is plenty of video evidence to substantiate a possible contusion injury. Plus, it’s not like we are tricking the system to bring up a reliever because our bullpen is short today. Miz gets paid more being on MLB IL than being optioned to AAA. 🤷‍♂️
  13. Makes sense. Miz really needs to cut down on innings if we aspire to use him in September or October
  14. Unrelated note: Willi Castro seemed to have a fun and useful debut for the Cubs. His triple was the result of a misplay in the outfield, though.
  15. I should go to the forum suggestions page and recommend we create a pitch by pitch update of all Suarez and McMahon bats for the rest of the season. That way each side can feel validated after every strikeout or extra base hit (depending on your camp) 🙂
  16. Eugenio Suarez has .385 OPS through 13 AB with Seattle I appreciate it has only been three games. That is lower than Oliver Dunn’s .427 OPS this year in Milwaukee
  17. Phillies only two games behind Chicago. Padres will probably play inspired baseball the rest of the way, too.
