Interestingly, I’m having a hard time thinking of the last time a young pre-arbitration player demanded a trade. I imagine there could be an element of bad faith in terms of collective bargaining if that became common.

I like the Padres in three. Imanaga has 4.70 ERA in 76.2 IP since the break. Boyd has 4.63 ERA in the second half. Game three is either Taillon or Rea, presumably Taillon. San Diego has a lot of LH hitters, though.

Thanks for putting this together! On one hand, the Brewers have a .600 winning percentage over their past 162 games. On the other hand, does a .600 winning percentage over the last 40 games have a causal relationship toward winning the World Series? Lots of teams play .600 baseball in September and only one wins the World Series. A .600 winning percentage in September is neither a necessary nor sufficient cause for winning a World Series. At the same time, it sure would be nice to be healthier and performing at a higher level.

Brewers have had very little to play for in September. It can be said Milwaukee achieved the minimum it needed to this month. Many opponents had a lot to play for.

Truthfully, there probably is not an objective relationship between end of season vibes and NLDS success. It would seem better if the bats showed some life, though.

Peralta and Priester seem fine. Ashby, Hall, Myers, Patrick, Henderson and Miz could all get nine outs. Uribe and Koenig seem as good as ever. Can the offense flip a switch? I am optimistic. It must be an ounce difficult to ‘play to win’ without having having Sal Frelick run into a wall on Game 160 like last year.
