Makes sense. He did take some bad pitches recently. I feel like he is playing the best he has all season though. -
Four HR and .790 OPS the past two weeks and now we decide to let Joey regroup?
-
I feel like Milwaukee wouldn’t ’do that’ to Hoskins if he is back in August. Not saying it’s right but I doubt we’d bench Hoskins upon his return.
-
Washington clearly does not understand the bite of the apple philosophy 🙂

Should Bauers get the start at 1B today against RHP? I’ll assume Vaughn tomorrow against Kershaw.
-
Should be an interesting three days. 🤷♂️

Durbin provided the 70 mph exit velocity and nearly an RBI. So close.
-
Runners in scoring position for Caleb Durbin means he will generate an RBI with an exit velocity below 80 mph

14 pitches for Anderson. I assume we will still use our “eighth inning guy “instead of sending Anderson out there for a second inning.
-
Yeesh, straight to Anderson. That means Uribe/Megill today.
-
Is Grant Anderson our only arm we consider fresh for today? Other than Easton McGee?
-
76% strikes for Woodruff today

Goodness, let Mears rest…

I have slugging skills! I am good at slugging! What is wrong with you people!?
-
It seems like our 6-10 starters are as good as our actual rotations from 20 years ago.

Tough week for St Louis

I have not followed Alcantara‘s career very closely. I guess I expected his numbers to be better this season. Still recovering from injuries.

I’m just grateful it seems inconceivable for Milwaukee to acquire a middle reliever at the deadline. I cannot imagine any more room for pitchers on the roster. I agree that we do not need the Mark Canha or Carlos Santana level of bat rental. Is our roster one Jose Ramirez away from seriously contending? Do we want aging corner infielders? I weep for the Pirates if they are considering a trade of pre-arbitration, Paul Skenes. That seems like it would be trading away Ben Sheets after his dominant 2004 season. Sheets was all we had for pitching for quite awhile.

Mitch Keller’s third-inning strikeout of Masyn Winn was his 384th at PNC Park, moving past Paul Maholm (383) for the most in ballpark history. Doesn’t that seem awfully low for a 24-year old ballpark? https://www.mlb.com/news/mitch-keller-tosses-gem-in-pirates-third-straight-shutout-win

Haase has .769 OPS with Milwaukee since 2024. 112 OPS+ Is his defense that bad?
-
I assume Haase catches game 2? 🙂🤷♂️
-
Can we rest Uribe and Megill in game one? Let Ashby or Hall get the last two?
-
The Cardinals got shut out three straight times by the Pirates.
-
Pirates swept the Mets and go for sweep against Cardinals tomorrow, outscoring both opponents 38-4. 🏴☠️
