  1. Corbin Burnes last two starts: 10.2 IP, 13 H, 6 ER, 6 K, 2 BB 7.36 ERA in August with 1.60 WHIP
  2. Was hoping for big performance from Burnes against LAD tonight. Allowed 2 HR and trailing 6-4, though. Three errors committed by BAL though.
  3. Sort of expected Hoskins to be above replacement level this season. -0.3 WAR is jarring
  4. It’s always the middle reliever transactions that give us the most grief 🙂
  5. Burnes has 5.75 ERA over last seven starts. Season ERA: 3.28 https://www.thebaltimorebanner.com/sports/orioles-mlb/orioles-astros-corbin-burnes-haircut-TKPL6C2ZZFHYHJQHLXH7AIFYZM/
  6. I appreciate Power Rankings don’t matter. Still, how does Milwaukee rank behind Cleveland this weekend? MLB.com
  7. Makes sense. He was effective enough over 6 IP. Can’t complain.
  8. Noticed only 3 K for Freddy tonight. Are there any peripheral indicators we should be concerned about? Seems like he normally is good for a strikeout per inning.
  9. Never will happen. However, the double hook suggestion is interesting. If you pull your starter before 6 innings then you lose the DH for remainder of game.
  10. I’ll take the over. Montas with a surprisingly good start tonight.
  11. Adames is better than Story and Baez. Probably better than Swanson? But the Swanson contract seems like the Jason Heyward contract - not one you wish to have.
  12. I was only listening on the radio, but Contreras and Murphy were barking at the Homeplate umpire earlier in the at bat. he was ejected after running to first during GIDP.
  13. Hall for 4 IP. Ross for 3, Mears for 1 then we’ll see?
  14. On pace for 38. I’d take the over.
  15. Cubs with last wild card spot and Brewers with number three playoff seed means Milwaukee hosts Chicago? 😬
  16. Lindor: $34 million, 4.6 WAR (age 30) Correa: $33 million, 3.4 WAR (age 30) Seager: $32 million, 4.1 WAR (age 30) Turner: $27 million, 2.1 WAR (age 31) Swanson: $25 million, 1.6 WAR (age 30) Story: $23 million, 0.1 WAR (age 31) Baez: $23 million, -1.4 WAR (age 31) Adames: $12 million, 2.4 WAR (age 29) I think it is a foregone conclusion that Adames is playing for a different team next year, especially if he wants five or more year contract. Is there any reason Adames would accept five years at 125 million? What would he actually be worth to Milwaukee or someone else? We seem to have plenty of SS on our roster. The Swanson contract seems like too much money for Swanson or Adames.
  17. It sure would be nice to have the number one or number two playoff spot, instead of the number three.
  18. As miscellaneous as it gets:
  19. Cardinals and Cubs with an interesting Sunday off day today. Cubs all of a sudden only 3.5 GB of final wild card spot. Pirates lost six straight and now 5 GB of final wild card.
  20. Nick Lodolo had a rough July, allowing 20 ER in 27 IP over five starts. Most of the damage came against CHC allowing 8 ER. We have not faced Lodolo this year. We faced him three times in 2022, though. 2.89 career ERA against Milwaukee. Three starts, 18.2 IP and 21 K. Another tough lefty.
  21. Could be nice to save Rea for Dodgers on Monday.
